Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
Actually its more like the hitting coach or some other coach handing the batter a new bat not a true bat boy.
Would be great if Bat Boys and Ball Girls and Ball Boys were added in realtime someday.
MLB 2K12 has Bat Boys in realtime and I think it looks cool when they come out to get the bats at home plate.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
What would you guys think about SCEA adding a attribute for Range. I mean the only defensive ratings really are Throw Power and Accuracy and Fielding Ability. They should just add more defensive ratings in general.Tigers|Wolverines|Red Wings|Pistons|LionsPSN - maizeblue13Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
Range is a product of reaction and speed, two ratings the game already has. Catcher specific ratings need to be added though, like game calling and pitch framing.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
I put this in the franchise thread, but I'll add it here too. Better salary logic. I finally made it to the offseason and it's a bit ... baffling.
Brian McCann made $6.6 million last year on the game. He's 29 and he just won the NL MVP while putting up career numbers. So what does he want? $4.1 million a year.
Jair Jurrjens made more than $8 million last year. After going 13-8 with a 2.40 ERA, and at the age of 28, he wants $5.5 million?
On the flip side, Craig Kimbrel made $610K last season. He's still eligible for arbitration. But he wants $11M a year.
Probably because he's one of the slowest players in the MLB. (McCann) Speed has too much effect on a player's overall rating. This, IMO, is the biggest flaw in the rating system. A faster runner does not make a player great. It helps, yes, I'm not saying it shouldn't matter. But almost all CF's drafter are slower than starting 1B's in MLB. Because if they made them fast, their overall would be way too high. If speed is less on the overall, McCann's overall would be higher.
BUT... with that said, performance should definitely play a role in this. Just like your situation wasn't high enough... I struggle with a high B potential player who's played 3 seasons backing up my starter and maybe has 10 HR and a .265 AVG asks for 7.2M.
I had a SS who hit .290 in his rookie season. Was pumped about the future... he asked for 12M. I renewed his contract for much less and he hit .245. Another 12M request. Renewed... he hit .253. Did not offer arbitration. He signed for 12M 3 more times before getting his AVG up to .280. Doesn't make sense. He was A potential and ran fast. But rarely lead the league in SB because he wasn't on base enough. This needs fixed. lol
----------------------------------
When I read the "commissioner mode" option to veto trades, I was ready to post that I couldn't agree more. If you saw my last post, I struggle so much with dumb trades that are made. If I had the option to veto, it would be so much better for me. Can someone tell me where that option is on the current game? It does matter, because I'm still playing it. haha. The only thing I can think of is if you're doing 30 team control. And I don't think I ever read enough on doing that. I felt like there was always issues that I had to fix for everyone else before I could even play a game.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
Here's a couple small things...
More options in Secondary Position - Corner IF. Corner OF. OF/1B. COF/1B. Or even a SS who always plays 2B and OF.
Promotions - Promotions take too long to do. Less clicks maybe. instead of increasing amounts by hundreds.. increase by thousands? Give better options. Where's T-Shirt? The most common promotion. lol. How about adding $1 hot dogs as a promotion and not having an amount to enter in? Or setting all of a certain day? "T-shirt Tuesday" or "Free Shirt Friday"? Or having a "Dollar Dog Night" be the same day of the week for the whole year. Or a couple big price items like fireworks night or post-game concert? It's better than glove or bat night. (but keep those... more options the better. lol)
Editing/CAP - Everyone wants more hair styles, more bling or whatever. I agree this could be addressed. I want to make sure that includes better facial hair. I'm a beard guy. I have a beard and love when players have them. So allow us to make a bigger beard. It doesn't have to be ridiculous... just something that actually comes off the face more. Also, allow us to edit facial hair on current players? I realize how much harder this is because they are made different. But facial hair wouldn't be as hard as head hair, right? If someone goes to the Yankees, it would be cool if you could take away their facial hair or something? Pant legs.. baggy, over the cleat, high socks and stirrup socks... but the other one might as well be called 1980. They could make that syle a modern version. lol And finally, body types: heavy, buff, and medium/normal. Add a skinny option for Dee Gordon body types.
Base Stealing - A lot more steals during sim. So, I do have some trouble throwing guys out. I feel like it's mostly because my pitchers are slow. My throws are usually pretty good. And even when I throw someone out, I think they are safe. When i'm stealing, I think I'm safe and I'm called out. Throws are always straight, it seems. either perfect, high, or overthrown. Never to one side or the other. Tags were much improved this year, but it just makes it harder. Some pitchers prefer the slide step. This could be added as a pitching style, to always slide step, or it could be another way to throw the pitch. I've seen the computer "hurry the pitch" against me but I don't know how to do that and haven't seen it on a forum on here.
I've got more... but I wonder if they're even looking at this stuff or should we be posting it on their forum?Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
need a better way to sort out stats, right now we can only go to an individual team or check league leaders which only give some stats, we need to be able to sort out stats for all of the MLB AL NL or by divsiion. that way we can see the league leader for most strike outs OBP etc, The only way I see the leading stats for thease things are during a game at the ticker bar at the bottom.
make it so that created players are not all rookies, let us change how many years they have been playing for when I created Moya last year it wouldn't let me say that he was 49 for a start but he would show up as a rookie. well thats the oldest rookie in history of any sport id say!!
Id also love to be able to create players during a franchise or season, for example I was halfway through my season this year and Rich Thompson comes up to the majors but he wasn't on my roster at the time, I wish I could have just created him halfway through the season. so create a player would be great to have inside of franchise mode
I love this game so much so all I want really is the same game next year with added things, hell even the way it is with a new playoff format and the astros in the AL would be enough for me to buy it!Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
I think what he means is.....you can do this yourself and that's fine.
But if EVERY pitcher is just a P in the game ....what would be the deciding factor for the rotation....stamina I would suppose...so that's basically what's there now.
If you want to ...you can simply edit all CP to just RP and the CPU does just fine in deciding who to use.
You can do the same for borderline SP(who are listed as RP) and the CPU will use the best five there as well and usually throw the sixth best as the LRP(which I wish was used better by the CPU managers)

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
it does not matter if you put all the CP as RP whoever you put in that Closing spot on the rotation the CPU will use everytime, even if you throw in elite starter or a crappy RP in that pitching rotation the CPU always goes to it in the 9th. changing the positions doesn't do anything.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
a couple ideas that shouldn't be too difficult to put in:
1. List of player and team awards, so I can see who won the MVP or ROY in previous years. Also list of World Champions, if I'm running a 10+ years of franchise it would be nice to keep track of that stuff.
2. Put stats on player cards from previous years. For example, if I want to see David Ortiz's numbers from 2002, it would be cool if I could.
3. Dreads, jewelry, tattoos would be a great visual upgrade.
4. Don't know how this could be changed, but I hate when I trade for a player and he still wears the old team's hat in the photo. Its probably not a big deal to most of you but it drives me nuts lol. Maybe you could use a hat that just has the MLB logo (not the current one for free agents) or just do picks without the hat etc.
5. Not sure how the player progression works so I can't say its broken, but I would like to see more draft picks become All stars quicker. It seems that its a 5 year plan to get these guys MLB ready. Maybe have them progress quicker and easier.
6. Have an option to hide player ratings. I personally think that sports games have spoiled us with the rating systems. None of that is available in real life, unless you have some magical scout. That way the player stats will matter more when picking up players and trading. It would also make contract signing more realistic. I'll give you 10mil a year because you hit .320 with 30 homers and not because you're a 88 OVR who hit .245 with 12 homers.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist
He is referring to when the CPU makes a decision after an injury or a transaction. The CPU will optimize the roster so if there are no CP's on the roster the best RP will be designated as the closer. Same thing applies when you leave the CP position blank, the CPU will choose the best reliever.
