Re: Community Day 2013 - Gameplay - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I played about 20+ games and hit the pitcher only twice. The adjustment with hitting cuts down a lot of up the middle play. There still is a disconnect with the pitcher getting hit and suffering consequences from the incident. In the two incidents that occurred I was safe on one and out on the other.
The other thing I wonder if it has changed are on bunt plays. Do infielders always throw off their back foot still? Even on plays like a pitcher bunting where they had all day, they would still throw off their back foot. It just looks silly.Comment

Nice to hear. But its not that the pitchers get hit, its that its so easy for the infielders to react and throw you out. 1/2 is a small sample size, so I hope it happens much less frequently now.

Re: Community Day 2013 - Gameplay - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Not too much has changed really with this mechanic except for under the hood tweaks which is unfortunate because it has a ton of potential. I know I have offered a lot of suggestions to give this meter more personality based on the quality of pitcher throwing. It is sitting kind of idle right now.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Gameplay - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
In MLB 12 the third baseman would always try to field the ball barehanded if it wasn't bunted really really hard at him and then throw off his back foot and lob the ball to first base.
If they have that much time they should always stop and throw. The third baseman should only use the back foot animation when its a close play.Comment

Which animations do you mean by both? I'm assuming back foot and something else?

Yep, the CPU. The 3B does the back foot way way too often on bunts when there is no need to do it.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Gameplay - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Any of you guys notice if the CPU outfielders still attack hard base hits in front of them? That and batters being really slow out of the box would result in the OF'er fielding the ball before the batter was even halfway down the line, with the ball being back in the infield before the batter reaches 1st.

These aren't the best examples, but in all three the OF's move mostly laterally to field the ball instead of making a beeline to the initial landing spot.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Gameplay - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
A lot of these were posted about a lot, just not specifically in these threads. Its hard to remember everything that was asked in the previous feedback threads and such. I wish I remembered a lot of things before CD to ask.
I remember posting about the catcher pre-pitch animations a few times, but forgot to ask about it for the CD threads. I forget that its also a place to maybe ask for future additions/changes. I initially thought these threads would only be for questions/concerns. But seeing a lot of people posting other things and the CD guys taking note makes me think you guys are also collecting suggestions for next year? Or is it solely focused on the current game?Comment

Ha ha... It seems once everything is set and we start discussing what is in the game all the ideas start coming. Though with everything that got put in this year I'm not sure there was much more time for more additions (they put A LOT in it seems)"Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

The game definitely feels a total package like nemesis mentioned in his impression. It's definitely the biggest leap I've seen in my tenure with the Show (MLB 10). Why don't people see it first before wishing for the future...Comment

Yep, I agree. It always looks weird. When I hit a hard base hit to right I always expect the right fielder to throw me out. It was easy to throw guys out from right last year, they eventually patched it out, but not really fixing the issue of what you describe. Instead the throw would pull the 1B off the bag everytime even if the throw beat them.
