Re: CES questions you have about MLB 13 The Show

    Hey Freeze,

Has the simcast experience been revamped? Was pretty buggy last year with unrealistic strategy (swings on 3-0, bunts with bases loaded 2 outs, etc.) This is a mode I use in Franchise a lot, so I was just wondering.

    Thanks.

And is it still possible to bring that up to the real-life speed when Pitch Speed slider is maxed out? Thanks!
I think he mentioned that hitting is easier this year. From the games that I've played, pitch speed is still pretty fast. He used Washington against me in the second game and some reliever he brought in was throwing like 101 miles an hour and it sure felt like it.

I am not allowed to talk about franchise. I mentioned this earlier in the thread. More will be let known on January 15 I believe.
To my understanding, Major league baseball does not allow real salaries in the game. I will try and check to see how close they are though.

Yeah, I saw your post about not talking about Franchise, just wondering since Russell had been talking about player salaries specifically in the videos that maybe that part can be discussed.

They will not have real salaries (unless MLB changed something this year) but I just want to see if they are comparatively similar.

What happens is that at random the game freezes the baserunner on the pickoff & nothing you press (the button to move the baserunner back to the base is the L1 [left shoulder] button) will unfreeze the baserunner. He will simply eventually "unfreeze" (something the CPU has total control over) and head back to the bag. If the pickoff thow is even somewhat accurate the baserunner will then be called out.

What would need to be changed (at least as a game option that a user can choose in the pregame) is where the baserunner does not move either off the bag or back to the bag unless the user presses the button to move him. This way if a baserunner is picked off, it is due to the user's fault rather than a random "game-freeze".

In truth I don't see why this would not be implemented. Look at it this way. Imagine if the game decided to randomly freeze an outfielder on a ball hit to him so that he could not chase the ball down. Wouldn't people have a legitimate complaint by referring to this as a bug in the game?

In reality I don't see why this scenario with the baserunner is any different than if the game were to freeze the outfielder thus not allowing him to pursue a ball hit in his direction. A response by the game developers to this complaint that after all one is actually able to move the outfielder before the ball is hit would of course be ridiculous as the issue is about the fielder responding after the ball is hit. Same here. The issue is about the baserunner being able to respond when the pickoff attempt is made. Not before it is made.

Anyway, thanks for offering to bring this up at community day. God willing hopefully they will implement a fix for what should rightly be considered to be a bug (or at the very least, a glitch) in the game.
It's in there....but that window is too small on the retreat back to the bag. It's there though. I know what you are saying and I'll see if it can be worked on. Honestly....I wish this was one area they just tied your runner into the shoulder buttons and it would be all up to you(except for the dive back into the bag)

Not at all. I'd pretty much bet that if PS4(whatever it's called) is out this year or early next....we'll see The Show on it.

I never knew there was a problem with it.....and I use it.(ashamed here) albeit not much. I'll see what's up at CD....could you throw this into the franchise mode/editor thread so I can compile it with the others? Thanks.

I don't know if the MLB is relaxing their stance with The Show...but they have (SCEA) been creeping closer towards getting it more in line with RL where they can. Dollar for dollar...I don't think you'll see that.

Freeze... If possible... Can you tell me if Nori Aoki, Jean Segura, Mike Fiers, Mark Rogers, Wily Peralta & Jim Henderson of the Brewers have their portraits in the game?

As of the Demo... Cuz I guess it could always change whenever SCEA does this part.

Like I stated, I played two full games with Russell and almost another full game with some guy and I've had a great time. I've gotten some hits I never have before that I touched on in a previous post. I did mention to Russell that it feels like I am ahead of a lot of pictures this year. I believe he said they tweaked the timing window or something like that. It's really too bad that I can only play on fast play this year at CES since I never use that mode myself but I will take what I can get.

Freeze, what type of replays did you see on the Vita? Can you ask what type of visual enhancements (may be to broad, which i understand) they worked on this year? Will Vita users get end of game celebrations as well, not just end of game screen? I hated winning the game with a walk off and then it just ended.

Once again, thanks so much for your time - and if you have a PayPal account, I would be more then happy to chip in with others to help you buy a copy!

Freeze... Can you play with "Timed" batting today and let me know if you see improved hit variety off the bat this year like more high choppers, little dribblers and Bermuda triangle singles because last year it seemed like everything was either fouled off weakly or hit hard unless you used Zone

Also can you talk about the improvements to Pulse pitching and if you can control velocity now and how it works?

Thanks again man for being our eyes & ears

                            1. Is there a new PA announcer or is it the same voice that's been in the game like for ever?

                            2. Do we finally get to hear the National Anthem in full before the start of every game?

                            3. Are the starting lineups Presented in a different way? Does the announcers say every players name?

                            4. Has the in game ticker changed in anyway as far as looks or stats?

                            5. Do umpires wear jackets for games played in Rain and or Cold weather?
Like post season games in the northeast?

                            6. In post season games does the top scorebug have info like "NLCS Game 3" Or any other kind series info like maybe "SF Leads 2-1" for example?

Any chance you could take a screenshot of the new inbetween inning batter due up overlay?

                            Thanks again
