Make sure you hold L2 until you feel the controller vibrate. Once it vibrates the steal is ready. Releasing L2 will send the runner even if the pitchers not in his windup. Pressing R2 after the vibration "clears" the steal and you can release L2.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
I have some really basic and probably dumb questions. I apologize in advance. Im a lifelong Xbox guy and will be buying a PS3 on Tuesday as Ive had enough of this this 2K baseball garbage. Again I apologize for some of these questions as Im sure they are dumb for most here.
- Is button batting still in? I used to use analogue swinging on 2K but they made it impossibly difficult.
- the yellow batters eye I see in some videos. Is that on by default or is it an option? if so does it apply to button and analogue swinging?
- can you manually adjust pitch speed or is it set automatically?
- if i decide to use button batting can i still control the direction of the hit based on where i hold LS? or is that all controlled by this new push pull feature Ive seen.
- last one. having never played The Show would I be better off just getting 12 or does 13 have noticable improvements?
Thanks for any answers. Appreciate itComment

In MoM, what sliders are used? If I turn CPU control down will it also affect my team? Some insight into MoM would be appreciated. Thanks!NFL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Arbitration is a win or lose proposition. The player submits a claim and you submit what you think he is worth. In arbitration the game decides what he should be paid. If he is a 2 million dollar player and the player ask for 4 and you offer 1. The arbitrator will probably award the 4.
If its someone you really like usually the team tries to "buy" out the arbitration years by offering a lower salary for a few years. If they don't take it then let arbitration run its course.Comment

- When I got 13 it was on by default. It is called Zone, I prefer the button hitting. You could try Zone to see if you like it. Also, the analog batting in The Show is way better than in 2k so you could also try that.
- Yes, you can adjust pitch speed. Just go to Sliders, then go down until you see pitch speed.
- I have heard that you can control the direction but you will have to look at the controls. I don't use it.
- I would get 13. I really like it and I do like the improvements. There is also a lot more modes and things to do.
Hope this helped!Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
thanks for the help. so this "zone" hitting. can you turn that off or on whether button or analog hitting? do you have to have the ball in that zone or you will miss regardless of swing timing? also wondering about the guess pitch/ location feature. i assume you can only guess one or the other on any given pitch? all I know is i have mlb2k11 for Xbox and they made the analog hitting near impossible to hit hr's. the timing window is tiny. i do however crank the pitch speed up to 95.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
It will show in the pending contracts. If you offer arbitration...look to see how much is reserved in pending offers....that is the amount you will have to pay if you lose.Comment
