Relievers just don't hold much value unless they're an all-star closer.

McPherson holds some potential to be a solid starter and the only OF that the Cubs have worth a B is Soriano and you already traded him.

And is Hairston/Schierholtz really that much better than Marte? More relievers really don't add that much. Quality, not quantity

Only one of them. If Rangers are in contention, then going to trade Profar and others for a big bat or pitcher. If they are out of playoff race, then want to trade Kinsler for prospects and bring up Profar

Well you can trade Profar as a package for stanton, which has been discussed as naseum in this thread. Just find a package you like.

Any particular position you're looking for the bat to be at?
You could also try for David Price if the Rays are way out of it

I think Kinsler would be the more likely trade. You can trade him to KC for a high B and low B. Other teams in the market for a 2B could be the Orioles, Rays or the Cardinals

I would like the bat to be an outfielder or catcher. These trades would happen if I did the 30 team roster control or the computer would accept these trades?

30 team. I doubt Stanton gets traded without it.

It's also really risky to make a commitment like that to a pitcher merely to flip him when he could very well get hurt first.

And that's not even factoring in the draft compensation they have to give up for just signing him.

Are there any examples of a team signing a pitcher to a 3+ year deal and trading him the same year? There are probably a couple of examples but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
I don't think its ever been brought up by the org. but there have been at least 5 Brewers writers who think its a pretty good possibility they would move him if the right deal came along. They really were planning to do a lot better this year and I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers really unload all their value guys like Lohse (might not be as likely) Hart, and Ramirez

I'm sort of in the same boat the Brewers are in in real life, not because the team isn't good but because Braun got hurt for like 40 games at the beginning of the year to go along with the guys who started the year on the DL

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

In my Rangers franchise, I'm trying to find a way to get Mike Olt regular playing time as he's crushing the ball (batting .320+ w/ 15HR 51 RBI through mid July, came up in early May). I'm seeing that I can make the following trade with Detroit but want to know if this is too out of whack.

                  Texas Gets:
                  Miguel Cabrera
                  Anibal Sanchez
                  Nic Castellanos

                  Detroit Gets:
                  Adrian Beltre
                  Nelson Cruz
Top Prospect (I can use Profar, Gallo, Shelby Miller (acquired in separate trade) or another A level prospect that I picked up when trading away Matt Harrison earlier in the year).

I like this trade because it allows me to:
                  - start Olt at 3B
                  - move Cabrera to 1B/DH
                  - move Mitch Moreland to RF/1B
                  - reduce playing time for Berkman (his regression is around -10 on all attributes before trade deadline, power/contact now down around 55 across the board)
                  - also opens up the option to move Kinsler to RF if Moreland doesn't work and bring up Profar at 2B.

Is that trade out of whack? The Tigers won't take the trade unless it includes Miller/Profar/etc for Castellanos.

I should add the note that the Tigers are running 4th in their division and are 13 games out of first (early injuries to Verlander & Fister screwed them despite Fielder hitting 350 and having 32HR at the ASB).

This trade is so out of whack, so unrealistic.

Miguel Cabrera is not getting traded. Period. He is worth more than all 5 people in this trade combined

What could I get for a package involving Hultzen + Zunino? I'm looking to either get either a young Leadoff type of hitter or a power bat..

Yeah you'll have to settle for one. The Bucs won't part with two young outfielders unless you pony up something like Hultzen, Zunino and Franklin for Marte and Snider but that's highly unrealistic. At the most, they'd move one of them (Marte/Snider). Neither one is likely to be moved IRL but Hultzen and Zunino are at the most a year away so I'm sure the Bucs would listen
