I'm looking for a premium centerfielder to be a main stay for years. I'm willing to trade Eaton and one of my top pitching prospects (Skaggs/Bradley). I would prefer a power bat over a speed bat. Any ideas?
I like the idea of shifting Parra to CF. I actually dealt for him in my Astros 'chise and I play him in CF, he's great there. Probably the best throwing arm in the game among CFers, and decent enough speed too.

If you want a slugging outfielder...I'd suggest these guys (a mix of high profile and under-the-radar targets):

Justin Maxwell (HOU), Chris Young (OAK), Seth Smith (OAK), Josh Willingham (MIN), Jeff Francouer (KC), Matt Joyce (TB), Justin Ruggiano (MIA), Giancarlo Stanton (MIA), Alfonso Soriano (CHC)

Those guys are mostly known for their power, and they should all be obtainable. Of this list I really like the idea of trading for Francouer and playing him in RF and Parra in CF. Francouer would be essentially free to acquire too (just take on salary). Ruggiano's not as powerful but he's the most versatile of the bunch. And Soriano is probably the best combo of power and low price.

Stanton and Chris Young would probably be the most "long-term" of the bunch.

Someone mentioned Mark Trumbo, but I don't like him for the D'Backs at all. With Goldy at 1B for the forseeable future, Trumbo would have 1B blocked and no DH available. So you'd have to play him in the OF where he'd no doubt hurt you. There are better options for an NL club.

Well you're headed in the right direction. The Rays could use a catcher. The Mets could also use a stopgap until D'Arnaud is ready (which might be never with his propensity to get hurt right before getting called up). The Angels might also be interested. White Sox? Yankees? Rangers? Cubs?

As far as return, what are you looking to get? What position? Handedness? Age?

Fun fact: Diaz was once viewed as the catcher of the future for the Blue Jays, then he busted, then got traded for some scrubalitious utility guy named Jose Bautista.

You're only gonna get a mid C for him from the Rays. One of their minor league starters, probably.

Yeah that trade really blew up in Toronto's face, huh?

            Diaz for Aderlin Rodriguez (NYM)

            Diaz for Parker Markel/Felipe Rivero

Which would be the better deal?

Chris Young would be unrealistic because he was just traded from the Diamondbacks. I wouldn't call Francouer a slugging outfielder... I like his arm but he's not really an upgrade at the plate over Cody Ross or Kubel, who would be replaced.

Joyce and Smith are pretty terrible at hitting lefties in the game so
I personally would not take that on but that's up to the OP... I like Maxwell though, didn't even think of him

Go for the Mets deal. I don't know his exact rating, but Felipe Rivero is a bit too solid of a prospect to ask in return for a low-rated depth catcher.

Yeah I'll admit that Francoeur is mostly for the cannons in the outfield that he'd have with Frenchy and Parra. And it really comes down to how he plays in-game too. He's not doing well with Eaton though Eaton's a young stud. Certainly Francouer isn't much of an offensive player at this point, but he may have good luck with him.

Did the OP mention if he wanted a lefty or righty batter? I don't recall.

lol, I don't think the A's are holding onto Chris Young TOO tightly to make him untouchable. He's making over $9 million this year and Beane would LOVE to get something for him. I don't agree that just because he was acquired last year means he's unrealistic to move again. The A's were in the playoff hunt as well, so not every move was made with the long term in mind. It's not like the A's extended Young to the best of my knowledge? Heck, he's not even starting!!

But, I think there have been several good names thrown at the OP, in a wide range of price ranges, so he should be good to go.

Beane got young by giving up Cliff Pennington and Yordy Cabrera so it's not like he paid a lot to get him... (And the diamondbacks got Heath Bell and Pennington, great haul... )

I still think Chris Young is a good player and wouldn't be given back to the same team so easily

Edit:Young was traded this offseason, not during last season so Beane had some thought of the future in mind

Heath Bell has actually been super good this offseason, not a bad return by any means.

Yeah I'm exaggerating a little but it just seems every time I watch him, he does terrible

I've always liked Chris Young so that biases my opinion too

That's true. I neglected to realize that it would send Chris Young back to his former team. I think that sinks the realism 100%. So, good call, scratch Young off the list!

Jeremy Martinez, Robbie Grossman, Bud Norris, one of those guys straight up would probably work.

Anthony Gose is racking in AAA and I think it may be time to bring him up. I am still on the theme of clearing some sallary while staying competitive so who could be a good option to get for Rajai Davis...hes been only batting LHP but has a .320 average with like 8 SB. I would be looking for a prospect bat to clear some sallary ...who would be a good fit for Davis and who could i grab back
