Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In my Rangers franchise, I'm trying to find a way to get Mike Olt regular playing time as he's crushing the ball (batting .320+ w/ 15HR 51 RBI through mid July, came up in early May). I'm seeing that I can make the following trade with Detroit but want to know if this is too out of whack.
Texas Gets:
Miguel Cabrera
Anibal Sanchez
Nic Castellanos
Detroit Gets:
Adrian Beltre
Nelson Cruz
Top Prospect (I can use Profar, Gallo, Shelby Miller (acquired in separate trade) or another A level prospect that I picked up when trading away Matt Harrison earlier in the year).
I like this trade because it allows me to:
- start Olt at 3B
- move Cabrera to 1B/DH
- move Mitch Moreland to RF/1B
- reduce playing time for Berkman (his regression is around -10 on all attributes before trade deadline, power/contact now down around 55 across the board)
- also opens up the option to move Kinsler to RF if Moreland doesn't work and bring up Profar at 2B.
Is that trade out of whack? The Tigers won't take the trade unless it includes Miller/Profar/etc for Castellanos.
I should add the note that the Tigers are running 4th in their division and are 13 games out of first (early injuries to Verlander & Fister screwed them despite Fielder hitting 350 and having 32HR at the ASB)."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That sounds fair to generous. If you're playing with original ratings or OS V1 rosters, then Grimm is too underrated to equate to a fair Show trade. That being said, it's a decent real-life offering.Comment

Skaggs + Hudson + Bradley + Delgado + Davidson + Eaton + Owings would probably the best deal I can think of, dunno why AZ would do that though."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Wasn't sure if they were or not. I was trying to keep similar players but make it a little more realistic.
Do you consider his first trade idea fair?
It's pretty confusing considering this is the Astros trading prospects to get MLB players... just weird.Denver Broncos

You're seriously underestimating Jonathan Singleton or overestimating the Rockies' players here."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Houston gets: OF/1B Tyler Colvin, RP Edgmer Escalona, IF DJ LeMahieu, LHP Christian Friedrich
Colorado gets: 1B J. Singleton (62/B), SP N. Tropeano (64/B), RP W. Wright (78/C)
That was his original offer.
I'm assuming you don't think that is fair if mine aren't haha. I just tried keeping the same trade but replacing some of the players with players I could see being moved.Denver Broncos

Realistically, it'll cost another A prospect and a B prospect for StantonComment

Carlos Gonzalez for Singleton + DeShields + Rollins
Probably something like that. When you consider Singleton was considered the main part of the Pence deal when he was having his insane season, this trade is probably fair."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
