That's quite the array of prospects. But why would we need J-Roll? Pedroia got 2nd covered, and Bogaerts will have SS covered. He is not needed here, as much as he is good.

Alright well take a look at the Rays, Astros, A's, Giants, Rockies, and Brewers and see what pitching you'd like to get back.

All of those teams have a need for a 1B/OF/DH type with some pop.

Some names that come to mind without looking at the rosters:

Felipe Rivero, Michael Ynoa, Ariel Pena, Hiram Burgos, Edwar Cabrera, Tyler Matzek, Mike Kickham are some prospects that are about that price.

Travis Blackley, Wesley Wright, Sean Doolittle, Adam Ottavino, Jim Henderson, Santiago Casilla are some established relievers around that price.

You don't think Bogaerts is ready right now.. right?

Hmmm, alright. Bad news is that I dove for a foul ball (probably uneccessarily) with Michael Young and he tore his mcl. He's done for the year haha. With a few days left before the deadline we are falling back below .500. I don't know if I should trade Rollins for a 3rd baseman to finish this year, for prospects, or just keep him.

Trade Rollins for prospects. I really don't see why the Red Sox aren't an option.

Yeah, I was leaning towards trading him. If I want to completely dismantle my team I could trade Cliff Lee too, but I feel like if I get rid of too many guys its unrealistic.

I don't think clearing guys who are 30+ out is unrealistic.

I agree. I'd bet in your season Rollins will retire at the end of the year, so him being there will have no effect on Bogaerts, except being a very nice fill in until he's ready.

You realistically think that Rollins isn't a better option than 3 of those guys, while the 4th is your 2nd baseman?

I was thinking as putting Rollins as 2B, but just realized he doesn't play that.

From a realism standpoint, it defeats the purpose of getting Drew.

Rollins is heavily above average, plus plus glove at shortstop: Drew is a -20 FLD rating for his career. Rollins is coming off a 4.8 win season and isn't coming off an injury or injury prone like Drew is. Drew was never worth the money and is better off as a utility player and having Rollins starting.

Plus, I think I saw some Drew trade rumors.

Yes, you make valid points. But Bogaerts would most likely be a fall call-up. So a month and maybe a half of Rollins, then that's it. He also has a contract that lasts until 2014. So a year of him either on the bench, or in Pawtucket.

But this is all from a realism standpoint. If the OP isn't strong on realism, it's not bad.

I think you need to start looking at Bogaerts objectively.

What's up with Matt Carpenter, Cards fans? Sorry about all these spreadsheet questions, but I need to know if he'd be traded realistically.

In my franchise the White Sox just offered the Dodgers John Danks and Nate Jones for Andre Ethier.

                                Danks is 7-5 3.16 era 62 so 21 bb in 85 1/3 inn
                                Jones is 0-5 3.15 era 40 so 19 bb in 40 inn

Andre is hitting .268/.369/.400 with 7 hr 35 rbi

                                Dodgers are 44-32 9.5 gb
White Sox are 35-43 11 gb

                                Is this a fair deal?
