Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Na I have Cano whos number 1 batting a ridiculous .440 with close to 60 HR lol...Ya this trade is for NEXT season and Phillies will be losing Young/Ruiz anyway. Again messed up sliders for half a season the result of this

AC? What else could I ask for in this deal?

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm the Mets, kinda in contention with a 45-45 record on July 10th, only 4.5 gb in the division and 3 gb in the wild card. I know it might be kind of early to pull a trade but I can't hit with Duda (.242/.323/.379) and Valdespin (.227/.262/.357) has been even worse. Byrd is doing alright (.272/.324/.386) but he's really been slumping lately after starting out at like .350. Here's the trade I was thinking of:

      OF Lucas Duda (27 y/o, 72 ovr, .242/.323/.379 in MLB, Low B)
      C Francisco Pena (21 y/o, 64 ovr, .238/.323/.286 in Triple-A, High C)
      LF Wuilmer Bacerra (18 y/o, 56 ovr, .287/.385/.369 in Double-A, mid B)

      to the Mariners for

      LF Mike Morse (30 y/o, 85 ovr, .275/.322/.450)
      RP Charlie Furbush (26 y/o, 78 ovr, 6-2, 4.23, 44 K)

Is it fair? Spreadsheet says low B and high C for Morse. I added a mid B for Furbush and because Pena and Duda were doing so bad. Mariners are out of it.

I fianally made my Bud Norris deal at the trade deadline:

        Padres get: Bud Norris

Astros get: Kyle Blanks, CP Mikolas

I really like this deal as I get a good closer for the future and a good all around OF in blanks.

I would take Duda and Furbush out and do Bacerra and Pena for Morse

I think the Red Sox deal is a better deal for you, but I think in terms of realism, the Rangers deal would win. I can see them trading all 3 of those guys.
Hmmm, I just re-read your replies and I just want to thank you again for such great feedback! I think in terms of realism ill do the Texas deal an add another pitching prospect. I'm still not quite sure how to handle papelbon, but I do really like hank conger. Michael young is having a really nice season irl and in my franchise, so what I was thinking was that If I added a backup catcher like Valle who could replace conger they'd be open to doing it. LAA is really in contention in my franchise and don't really have much production from their third baseman.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So, a few weeks ago, disaster struck and my PS3 died and so I have lost all my saves for all my games (from about 4 or so years of gaming) which sucks, luckily I was able to save my copy of the show by dismantling it... I have purchased a second hand PS3 from a mate and have started a Cubs franchise and have made to just past the all star break... The Rockies offered me a trade, they're 3gb in division and 1.5gb in the wildcard...

              COL gets
              SP Matt Garza 8-8 3.56era 95k 126.1 IP

              CHC get
              3B Nolan Arenado
              SP Christian Friedrich
              CF David Dahl

Now I understand this is too much for Garza, but as I am selling could I add something to this to make it fair (not too interested in realistic)??? Any who isn't named Castro is available, even Rizzo for the right deal, I would mind switching out Freidrich for someone like Butler/Aquino/Bettis/Chatwood...

I'm also looking to sell these players

              SP Jeff Samardzija 7-9 4.22era 107k 119.1 IP
              SP Scott Baker 11-5 3.78era 85k 126.1 IP
              OF Alfonso Soriano .272/.322/.420 13hr 38rbi
              OF Nate Schierholtz .303/.361/.466 10hr 36rbi
              2B Darwin Barney .277/.303/.360 4hr 38rbi .994 field%
              OF David DeJesus .263/.353/.372 6hr 27rbi 1.000 field%

Also I would be interested in trading the following guys for the right packages
1B Anthony Rizzo .275/.365/.468 15hr 49rbi (cannot hit with him personally, do need another young 1B to replace him somewhere along the line though)
SS Javier Baez (AAA) .296/.363/.373 4hr 43rbi (drafted great 2B and SS combo in the draft plus I have Castro, a good problem to have but I would like to get something for him)
Alberto Almora (AAA) .277/.315/.389 6hr 38rbi (again, drafted a beast in the draft and could use him to bring in other talent)

My needs are mainly SP and to a lesser extent RP, also C and 1B and maybe 2B... Teams in contention are TOR, TB, BOS, DET, MIN, CHW, TEX, LAA, OAK, ATL, WAS, ARZ, COL, SD, SF, LAD... Apologies for the long post and thanks to those who read this far, any and all suggestions welcome as I am not great at making fair trades...

I'm not an expert on the cubs or Rockies organizations but I know Arenado is an A pot. and you may have to give up something valuable along with garza to make it fair. I don't think they need Baez because of Tulo but adding Rizzo would be unrealistic but maybe fair. What is Rizzo's potential?

If you're selling and rebuilding, why are you getting rid of guys like Baez, Almora, Rizzo? etc. I know you might have guys that you drafted but not all of them pan out.

And I really doubt the Rockies would sell on Arenado. He's really the only good 3B they have for the future (Pacheco is most likely going to first)

Garza and Barney for Dahl and Friedrich?
Garza is high B plus high B and Barney is a mid B value-wise. Dahl is a low A and Friedrich is a mid B so I think that works out.

Edit: Now that I think of it... Too much for a Garza rental. You're going to have to throw another prospect in there. Barret Loux? Or maybe Chris Villanueva?
Look at the spreadsheet for possible values of the guys you listed and maybe work out a trade from there

That trade is absolutely ridiculous. David Dahl is a top prospect in the league and Arenado is someone the Rockies have been banking on to be their 3rd baseman for years. If you switch out Freidrich for Butler, Aquino, Bettis, or Chatwood you are making it even worse haha.

You're going to have to take out Arenado and replace him with someone else. If you take Arenado, the Rockies are back to being screwed at 3B. Rizzo would probably have to be involved.

                      video game trade logic..

In short: You need to scrap this deal and go after players that are actually worth the value of Garza.
                      Aquino + Swanner for Garza?

Hey guys, I was wondering what it would take to get Chris Carter from the Astros in my franchise. I am rolling with the Yanks and could use the help at 1st and some depth for the outfield. I don't know what the Astros exactly need so any help is appreciated!

Dahl is ranked in the 50s thats hardly a top prospect in all of baseball, he's a good prospect but not someone who's untouchable. Arenado is alot more valuable.

He's only 19 years old, what do you expect? Obviously Arenado is more valuable. And I never said Dahl was untouchable.

I wouldn't go THAT far now.

I agree with AC. The trade isn't in the ridiculous level if Arenado is taken out (Rockies would not give him up.)

I offered Garza, Barney + ? To get Dahl and Friedrich.

Garza is an immediate upgrade over Friedrich and the rotation. Barney gets COL a gold glove 2B and they can get another decent prospect to round it out.
