Bethancourt is pretty highly valued, so I dunno if that's enough, really. You're the astros, right? Sorry if you're not, I'm tired lol. If you are, Rio Ruiz would be a really solid trade.

Yeah, AC might be right here. I might have undervalued Betancourt a bit. I agree and say Ruiz.

Yeah but they have McCann and Gattis so where does he fit in? Oh yes I'm the Astros in year 2.

That has no bearing on his value, and he's an excellent defensive catcher so he'll probably be eased in regardless. I still like a Ruiz trade.

I don't see Betancourt traded for another prospect. If he is moved it is probably for a major league player.

Is it out of this world to try and trade for Elvis Andrus or is it reasonable in the right package if I'm the Orioles

I'm aware that he was just extended

It's not out of the question...where in the calendar are you and how are the Rangers doing? How's JJ Hardy playing for you?

Did you think of acquiring a new 3B instead and move Machado to SS?

Yes that's true, having a hard time seeing Bethancourt moved for organisational depth. Problem is you don't have many B's at the major league level? Goes a bit against your rebuilding I guess but taking on Dan Uggla and his contract along with Bethancourt for Altuve would get it done. Positive thing about is that you'd open up 2B for DeShields in a year or two

A good contender in the NL so I guess it depends on how your season has played out so far. The A's and Rockies have a nice trading history while the Rox has some nice pieces to get a deal going (if they're in contention?)

I'm at the all star break. The Rangers are hovering at about .500 and I'm about 5 games above 500 if I remember correctly. J.J Hardy as been solid. He is at .250 with 14 homeruns I believe. I don't really want to move Machado considering he is already one of the best defensive third basemen in the AL.

I need a 2b and left fielder but I figured I could try and shuffle the infield around with andrus there. Maybe moving J.J Hardy? Who would you target then?

If I am Luhnow, I wouldn't touch this deal with a 10-foot pole. They view both Altuve and Jason Castro as part of their core, and an overpaid strikeout-prone 2B and a glove-only catcher wouldn't really fit. I see Deshields able to play LF and CF too, so they don't absolutely have to get rid of Altuve.

Beginning of May 2014. The A's have the best eecord in baseball at 14-5. Anderson obviously has SSS, but is 2-0, 15 Ks, 3.21 ERA, 3.65 DIPS.

Last year he went 17-7, 167 Ks, 2.94 ERA and 3rd in Cy Young. They would demand alot if he keeps that up. He will also cost alot to resign so that's why I think they'd trade him. I'll give an update at the end of May.

Yeah I understand why you'd wanna trade him then. He'd probably cost a smaller fortune to resign. Get back to us with stats in late may like you said and we'll find you a kick *** deal

Don't get me wrong, Andrus is a good target. Just thought I'd offer a different point of view in moving Machado back to SS and going after someone like Headley to play 3B. Would probably have to be separate deals as Texas moving Andrus would open up playing time for Profar and not getting Hardy back. Would a contending team (maybe the Mets?) like someone like Hardy in a deal? Would net you some prospects to help you swing that Andrus deal? The Pirates could be a fit for Hardy in exchange for something like Jose Tabata, Jordy Mercer and a low level prospect arm. Would net you some depth in order to be able to swing a deal for Andrus
