Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Doing a Mariners franchise and was wondering if u think there is any team that could actually make a trade for Felix. I was thinking maybe Texas but I'm not sure. What teams if any do think could make this trade and who could u see them giving upComment

Just give them Cuthbert. But wouldn't this be a "sell" move when they are only 2 games out of the wild card?Denver Broncos
Colorado Rockies

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yea I understand that, but they way I play franchise is that since I'm running the team, I dont need they trade to be realistic for the team that I'm controlling as long as it would make sense and be realistic for the team I'm trading with. I know most of you don't play this way but I just like to do it that way. So basically what I'm saying is if Seattle was willing to trade him, what teams do you think would be able and willing to make a deal for him.Last edited by Jcrome; 05-12-2013, 10:05 PM.Comment

To the Rangers for Profar + Olt + Sardinas + Ross
To the Nats for Giolito + Rendon + Goodwin
To the Red Sox for Bogaerts + Barnes + Webster + Checcini?
To the Blue Jays for Gose + Sanchez + Osuna + Norris?
To the Cardinals for Miller + Rosenthal + Piscotty?
To the M's for d'Arnaud + Syndergaard + Nimmo + Flores?
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I like the STL, WAS, and TEX packages best, personally."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Oh, you're the Mariners? Then it makes sense I guess.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Felix is listed as 6 HIGH A's on the spreadsheet. Not sure if that's a joke or not, but he'd be one of the more deserving options for that massive "King's ransom." Either he or Verlander are the best pitcher in baseball. I'd take either.
Even if you think 6 HIGH A's is a comically high price (not sure that I do--or if so, not by much), he'd still command 3-4 mid/high A's at minimum. Probably 3 high A's, 1-2 mid A's, and some variety of B.
I know the spreadsheet isn't law or anything (there are plenty of values I disagree with) but it's still a GREAT tool/starting point and kudos to the guys who created it--it saves oodles of time.
That all being said, Profar + Sardinas + Ross + Olt is nowhere close to 6 high A's. Not to mention why you'd deal for 2 SS's when you have a bloated cadre of middle IF prospects already in Seattle.
According to the spreadsheet...that package breaks down like this..
High A: 1
Mid A: 0
Low A: 0
High B: 1
Mid B: 2
Low B: 2
High C: 2
Note I gave Sardinas a mid B.
But if you look at that breakdown, it should be obvious that you're drastically low-balling yourself if you trade Felix for 1 A and 5 B's TOTAL. I'd suggest you toss in 2-3 more highly touted prospects on Texas' end. I'd say you could choose from Neftali Feliz, Joey Gallo, Cody Buckel, Wilmer Font, Martin Perez, Lewis Brinson, and Leonys Martin. Pick 2 if you take Feliz, and any 3 otherwise.
And if that seems like a really high price, well it is! You'd have to gut your future talent to get Felix...or in your case, you'd gut someone else to sell Felix.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I agree with WaitTilNextYear, if I'm selling King Felix off to Texas I'd be looking for something like Profar, Olt, Feliz, Leonys Martin and Justin Grimm/B pot pitching 'spect or similar... I mean it is Felix Hernandez we are talking about here, he's been so dominant in Seattle where he receives little run support, can you imagine if be was on a team like Texas that could out up good run support constantly... Plus I'd hate to be any team that would have to face the prospect of facing Felix/Darvish 4 times in a seven game series...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I listed Felix at 6 high A's to kind of simulate the unrealisticness of it, and to also stop the 1000000 "What will it take for Felix durrr" posts we were getting a day. If he's the one trading Felix and not trading for him then that package is probably fine."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
