Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

At the deadline with 30 team control, I need to start making some trades for teams not named the Chicago Cubs lol. Currently, the teams in "playoff push mode" are the Red Sox, Yankees, Jays, Twins, Indians, Angels, Rangers, Braves, Nationals, Phillies, Reds, Brewers, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers.

Here's a few trades that I'm thinking of, after looking at the spreadsheet.

Yankees get: Jake Peavy SP (A)
White Sox get: Angelo Gumbs 2B (B) + Jose Campos SP (B)/Jose Ramirez (B)

Rangers get: David Price SP (A)
    Rays get: Profar (A) + Olt (A) + Perez (B) + Grimm (B)

    Indians get: Ricky Nolasco
Marlins get: Fabio Martinez SP (C) + Dillon Howard (B)

Brewers get: Huston Street RP (B) [pitching very well, with 23 saves]
Padres get: Nick Heckathorn SP (C) + Jed Bradley SP (B)

Phillies get: Jhoulys Chacin SP (B)
Rockies get: Tyler Cloyd SP (B)/Adam Morgan SP (B)

and here's a few trades for my team that I'm thinking of:

Dodgers get: Matt Garza SP (B) + Darwin Barney 2B (C)
Cubs get: Zach Lee SP (B) + Corey Seager 3B (B) + Chris Reed SP (B)

Red Sox get: Matt Garza SP (B) + Chris Rusin SP (B)
Cubs get: Matt Barnes SP (A) + Henry Owens SP (B)

Red Sox get: Matt Garza SP (B)
Cubs get: Rubby De La Rosa (B) + Henry Owens (B)

Indians get: Nate Schierholtz OF (C)
Cubs get: Giovanni Soto SP (C)

with the Garza trade scenarios, I like the Dodgers trade the best, as Barney fills a hole for them with a gold glove at 2B. I'm fine with giving up Barney.

With the deals that don't involve the Cubs, I really don't care, so criticize away. I tried to match things up with the spreadsheet, but if you guys don't think they're fair, I'm willing to make changes. Also, if there are any other big trades that you guys think could/should happen, let me know. I just don't want to have a trade deadline with no deals in my franchise. There needs to be some player movement.

    Thanks!

Yankees aren't taking on Peavy's 22M or whatever he's getting paid in game (basically any semi-significant salary) before they re-up Cano.

Not enough for Price, and the Rays aren't trading him until at least next deadline.

      Nolasco isn't worth Howard.

Give them an SS prospect over Heckathorn.

What the holy hell no, Garza has been a pitcher above league average once, in the AL East, and does NOT warrant two top 100 prospects and a quality SP in Reed, and Barney doesn't change that.

Anything involving an A or Tier 8+ B for Garza is too much.

I think a Jorge De La Rosa for Adam Morgan is a little more realistic. I think they would be pretty hesitant to let Chacin go. I don't know how you guys feel about him, but he is their ace and only 25 years old.

De La Rosa is older and I could see the Rockies trading him off to open up a rotation spot for their young SP's. I believe De La Rosa is also in his final year of his contract, making it more likely for them to trade him.

Chacin really isn't that great, lol, but you're right De La Rosa's more realistic.

I'm the Indians, and I'm looking for another OF. Are these trades ok? Which one should I do?

20 yr old 62 OVR Low B-Potential CF Luigi Rodriguez + 18 yr old 60 OVR Mid B-Potential SP Mitch Brown to the Blue Jays for Colby Rasmus?

21 yr old 57 OVR Low B-Potential RF Tyler Naquin + Mitch Brown (as mentioned above) for to the Diamondbacks for Gerardo Parra?

Tyler Naquin (as mentioned above) & 21 yr old 65 OVR High C-Potential Elvis Araujo to the Mariners for Franklin Gutierrez?

Feel free to suggest any other outfielders that would be reasonable to trade for. I want someone that may produce well at the plate, but I don't want somebody that's going to be a liability on defense. Doesn't need to be a gold glove kind of guy, but I want to keep the mistakes out there to a minimum. Hitting is most important in who I'm looking to acquire, though.

I only have time to really glance at this one but it'd probably take more than this for Rasmus, realistically, because we're attached to him (sigh). Maybe Dorssys Paulino straight up? Or Naquin + Salazar?

AC gave his opinion on the Rasmus one and he has more knowledge of the Blue Jays than I...

I think Parra has that value but the prospects are off... Got any good B potential IF prospects? Replace Mitch Brown with a mid B infield prospect and you're good.

Gutierrez trade seems fine, a little overpay because of his injury issues IMO but nothing too outlandish

Regardless, the Rockies view them as their ace. I think a full healthy year will make you think differently about him.

I think a couple of repeats would make me think a bit better, but that seems a bit far fetched.

Yes I do have good B potential IF prospects, but I was attempting to avoid losing one of them.

I think I'm going to take either the Gutierrez or Rasmus trade, anyways.

Currently got Reyes back off the DL in my Jays dynasty. That means Iz and Boni back to the bench. Iz is sucking batting .160 and I would like to get rid of his contract (3yr/8M) and call up Kawasaki since hes batting .359 in AAA. What could I get for Izturis. I know he wont get me a lot but who could have interest in a 2B/SS/3B depth guy? OR If nothing for IZ what for Boni? Maybe Ill just keep em both but just checking.

Part 2: I want Blanco from the Giants. He is beasting for SF with 9HR and 30+RBI and 10+ SB in the 1st couple months of the season. What realistically would I have to give for him? Spreadsheet isn't much good to me either since I play 2K lol
