There is no realistically getting Tulo haha and there is no one comparable to him.

You definitely have the fire power to acquire some good talent though. The Cards have a very solid farm system. Maybe look at JJ Hardy in Baltimore?

Never really been a huge Hardy fan lol. I just remember during Spring Training there had been talks about Tulo to the Cards revolving around Matt Adams and Shelby Miller, so I didn't know if I could pull off a similar trade with Adams, maybe Wacha, and someone else?

I can tell you this, if you want realistic, you won't include Mark Teixeira in any trade to the Texas Rangers. He's pretty hated down here by the fans. Hated even more than A-Rod by die-hard Ranger fans. There is no way that Texas would bring him back.

I don't think Texas would swing a deal for Granderson, Hughes and a good prospect. You have to bear in mind, you're getting the best prospect in baseball and you're dumping a ton of Salary. I don't see Texas being all that interested in Granderson, Hughes would be welcome but he wouldn't be enough to package with a good recruit. You're dumping salary with both of those guys and getting the best Minor League SS who will be locked up for the next six years for a bargain.

To be honest, in all reality, I don't think New York could actually swing a trade for Profar. I just don't think they have anything that Texas would actually want. You'd have better luck trying to get Andrus in a trade but I don't think that would realistically happen either.

Even if Colorado was in the basement of Major League Baseball, you wouldn't "realistically" get Tulowitzki. I would say that St. Louis has the farm system to come up with a fair deal for Tulo, but it would be far from realistic.

As G3no said, Hardy could be a viable option. What about Alexi Ramirez from Chicago?

If you are going for realism, you should definitely look elsewhere for a SS. Asdrubal Cabrera? Maybe Elvis Andrus? Jed Lowrie?

I think Asdrubal Cabrera would be a solid guy to go after.

If you're willing to groom a Shortstop, you may actually be able to deal with Texas for Profar. However, Texas would likely want Oscar Tavares in return. You could ask some guys more knowledgeable than I about how that deal would work.

The SS prices with A-Cab and Tulo moving to the Cardinals was discussed a month ago or so in this thread. Do a search on it and you'll find tons of good info on it

I am going to try my best to get Profar, but if trade talks fail, I am going to turn my attention to Dee Gordan think I could get him for pretty cheap.

Found it, thanks! I would really have to give up the kitchen sink to avoid having Taveras part of the deal. I will probably pursue Hardy or maybe Andrus instead.

Another issue you'll run into trying to trade for Profar is the Rangers only have about 8-12mm in salary cap room. If you start trying to dump some of the Yankees big contracts on them, then it won't get through. The problem is the Rangers don't have any real bad contracts in the game that they would give up to balance the money out.

If only the show would let you agree to pay parts of remaining contracts when trading players.

The Rockies are three games out of the wild card and Garza would be the best pitcher in their rotation by far, they currently have three SP under 80 ovr in their rotation. Does it sound fair?

Carlos Marmol (28 SV, 2.63 ERA, 31 K) to the Tigers for RP Drew Smyly.

I know Marmol sucks in real life but he's doing pretty well in the game. Right now the Tigers are using Bruce Rondon as their closer and he has a 5.26 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP so they could use an upgrade. I know Smyly is pretty highly regarded in Detroit but right now he is 2-6 with a 5.72 ERA in relief. Would they give up a struggling Smyly for a hot closer? I would move Smyly to my minor league rotation if I acquire him.

Baltimore and LA Angels could also use a closer but idk who they would give up.

But, I think that's too little for Garza. Matzek is a nobody and Swanner just isn't enough. If you put in Tyler Anderson for Matzek, you're getting closer.

Drew Smyly is probably one of the most underrated pitchers out there. Him for DFAMarmol is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa[...]aaaaaaaaaay too much.

Yea but in my game Marmol made the All-Star team and is 88 ovr. I just decided to trade him and Feldman to the Orioles for Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop haha.

I think there was a previous deal in this thread that had the same players. Garza for Matzek and Swanner.

With that deal it seemed fine. Swanner was hitting like .400 in AAA and Matzek was doing alright. Garza also had about a 3.77 ERA instead of a 2.77. WTNY is right. You could probably get a little more for Garza.

Maybe Joe Gardner/Rob Scahill + Jason Aquino + Swanner
