Orioles Franchise Update:

Ugh, May ended ugly. 4 straight losses and 8 of the last 12. Still 2.5 games up on the Tigers as we enter June.

Butler actually hit a walkoff for me one game then hit 3 home runs in his next game in his first 3 abs. It was awesome

I did have a three homer game with him once. 2 in his first 2 ABs a single then another homer.

<table><td bgcolor=#0000FF>We bring a very young team into the season. An average age of 25. I think the fantasy draft turned out pretty well. Some very good hitter and pitchers that will only get better. And 7 of the Top 50 Prospects are in the organization.

I just went through my draft 2 days ago and the scouting info was still there during the draft.

Awesome. Appreciate that immensly. Saves me a lot of time. Past games (11,12) it would go bye bye. Kept detailed notes for the draft. Now I do not have to other than targets.

<table><td bgcolor=#0000FF>According to the game. We are the 20th best batting team, 27th best pitching team, 25th defensive team. And 28th best team overall. SCEA must get these from the ESPN "experts".

At the end of April. We currently stand at 17-8. Best record in the majors. We rank #1 in batting AVG at .311, runs with 156, and doubles with 64. We also rank #1 in complete games with 6, shutouts with 5, and fielding % with .995. We have the 2nd best ERA at 2.93, and the lowest runs allowed with 82.

Cabrera is of course our best hitter. But we also have 6 other players at or above a .290 AVG. And 10 of the 11 players that start have 10 or more RBI's.

Matt Harvey isnt getting much run support. He has an ERA of 2.00 and is 2-1. On the other side of that is Anthony Bass. He is getting the most run support. He is 4-0 with a 3.93 ERA. Hellickson and Miller have sub 3 ERA's. And Ryu has decided to try and make the offense work when he pitches. He has an ERA of 5.76. And might get sent down. Taijuan Walker is 4-2 with a 2.87 ERA in AAA.

May sees us play only 3 teams with a winning record in April. I see no reason this couldn't continue. </td></table>

I am curious as to how many games you guys play a year. I used to try all 162 but could never get through a whole season. Now, with the new scouting, I am playing 1 simming 5, and really enjoying it.

I've tried 162 every year and every year I've failed.

I'm going for it again this year and I've just finished the first month.

Started my yankees franchise today and having a blast so far playing 1 simming 5. We've somehow came out flying and currently are 11-1! Definately not looking forward to the inevitable slump that will bring us back to earth. So far my best players have been Rivera, who hasnt allowed a run in his 8 save opportunities, CC (2-0 with an ERA just over 1) and Arod, who is off to a hot start batting close to .400. The only problem we are having is hitting homers, but that will come.

Following the June 1st game, I sent Manny Machado down to AAA. His batting average over the last two weeks has fallen from .330ish to .250 and he is on an cold streak. As soon as his cold streak is gone he will be back up with the big club.

I am curious as to how many games you guys play a year. I used to try all 162 but could never get through a whole season. Now, with the new scouting, I am playing 1 simming 5, and really enjoying it.

Playing all 162 in year one. Then I will go to if I win I keep playing method.


EG:


First game of the series if I lose I sim second game...if I win the sim I play the rubber match. If the sim loses..I sim the third game as well.


Play all division rivals.
Play all games in September
Play all games if in August I am 5 games or less out of first place.


And of course if I win..I play till I lose.


With that method I end up playing around 100 games per season.

We just keep on rolling! 16-2 now, just played a great game too. Pitchers duel, 2-1 heading into the 9th. Rivera comes in, perfect on the season. It's over right? Nope, allows a lead off double and then a home run just inches over the RF wall. He then retired 3 straight. Now we head to the bottom of the 9th, where Derek Jeter is first pitch swinging and sends a double down the LF line, just our 4th hit of the game. Cano advances him to third, then Mark Teixeira steps up, 0-3 on the night, and hitting below .230 on the year, and Jim Johnson hangs a slider and Tex unloads for a walk off home run! Best game I've played in this game so far!

CC Sabathia is struggling thus far in his 2013 campaign. 5-4 with a juicy 5.03 ERA and he is averaging 3 walks a game.

Struggling is an understatement. This is the first time I have personally struggled with my horse over 4 versions of The Show (09,11,12,13) and I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a big trade sending Ivan Nova to the Giants for another struggling former Ace in Tim Lincecum. With his contract coming due I am taking a risk but I am confident I will resign him and have a formidable 1,2,3 puch with CC, Tim and Michael Pineda. Kuroda and Pettete are at the end of the road.


We are currently 4 full games out of first place behind The dreaded Red Sox.
