I did a study last year and there were about 5/6 As on average and 17ish B's on average.

I do know that they made the draft a lot deeper this year, though.

Does anyone know what it means when a prospect's actual value is higher than their potential value?

For example, this 1B has 74 Actual Speed vs. 20 Potential Speed

Take advantage of his speed now, because it's going to rapidly decline in the future I believe.

Really? Doesn't that seem like really unnatural? lol

I don't really know haha, just guessing and throwing a bone out there. I mean it seems logical in a way that a 1B starts out with speed, but by the time he reaches full potential in his prime, that he fills out his hitting attributes at the expense of his quickness.

Thanks for the help. I guess it makes some sense, but a 50 point drop? Whoosh... Oh well

I mean, with that being said, I don't think it'll be overnight, or in one year for that matter, over the course of a few years he'll probably lose a point or five in the speed column. Unless you had him train on his speed, that would make for an interesting development to see if you could keep it from falling and make him an all around stud.

I will be having my June draft this weekend. I look forward to posting my results.

This is an important draft for my team. We need some future studs big time down in the farm for this aging squad (Yankees).

The only thing missing is the ability to edit draft classes like on NBA 2K so you can have the real life prospects.

Sorry if this has already been answered. Still trying to figure out what the letter grade has to do with potential. I figured "A" meant player had the most potential. The reason I ask is that I am running a Braves Franchise in 2013 (with OSFM Hybrid Roster) and Tim Hudson (age 37-veteran) is rated 87 Overall with "A" potential.

how can he have "A" potential at age 37? I don't get it.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

That would be awesome. I'm playing as the White Sox currently and we're doomed(?) for a top 5 selection. Would love to know whether I'm getting Carlos Rodon, Tyler Beede, or a positional player like Trea Turner! Instead I'll have to use some-sort of my own combination regarding real life standings this season, and edit the selections accordingly.

This might not be entirely accurate, but think of that potential as his "ceiling." There's a chance that the player will hit the ceiling. It doesn't really change, even though he's 37 and declining, his potential was an A.

Jesse Biddle just moved up to an A in my franchise.

Also, another quick question. Hopefully this is relevant to this thread. Can a player's potential change twice in one year? So say a High B started to struggle and got moved to a mid B, if he gets hot can he move back up to a high B in the same year?

For those who have played several seasons in franchise mode, how has Padres catcher Austin Hedges progressed? Thanks in advance.
