Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread

Which players have UPDATED batting stances and pitching styles from last year? Which players currently have their OWN stances and pitching styles compared to last year? Lastly, could we get a video seeing all the batting stances and pitching styles from the edit player screen? Thanks!

Edit: Can we also see the starting lineups/benches along with starting rotations/bullpens look like as well?

It appears all the teams have:
Home, Away, Alternate, Warmup, Thowback Home, Throwback Away, and some have something like "old throwback," but those appear to be for teams that have been around forever.

      That would be AMAZING!

I am dying to see the uniforms.

That explains a lot! I gotta be honest, I've been spoiled the past few years with the fancy presentation of new features  and this year I missed out. So I really went into this game blind. I read the fact sheet, knew all about online franchise but for the most part I wanted to be surprised with the end product. I love this dynamic catch indicator. I did really think it was just the wind at first. I knew it was different just didn't know this is what it actually was. It adds a whole new dimension to the fielding. Playing the series for years, you kinda knew or had a good idea where the ball was going. But now there definitely is that uncertainty. Hmmm I wonder how tough it would be if I turned the catch position indicator off!

That sounds kind of too difficult from the SOUNDS of it. I play CF in real life you can easily run to a spot and for the most part just wait there if youre fast enough....

sounds like its trying to be TOO sim

Hmm now im wondering if it might move less for better fielding outfielders who would be better at reading the ball and better at knowing where it should land.

This is what I thought of as well. Players are taught to get to a spot and not drift with fly balls. I'll reserve judgement until I actually see how this thing works though.

Hi NYYanks26 and Lessthanpi I read you impressions in the other thread so thanks but can you mention a bit more in depth how it feels when your pitching in quick counts mode does it seem responsive like you have control and input or just a random roll of the dice at times ? thanks

How is the RTTS presentation? Did they reinstate the announcers and the stats overys they took out in 13?

I'm fairly certain that was confirmed in the RTTS dev blog, not sure about the overlays however.

So pumped for this new approach!

Any impressions about the baserunning? They supposedly ripped out all the old code...

It is not too difficult, you just have to pay attention more. Before things were too simplistic and it made catching fly balls very pedestrian in nature. The indicator will react differently according to fielder attributes. Definitely a nice change of pace for outfield play.

Is the old catch indicator in as an option as well? Or is it strictly the new one this year?
