Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Nothing special. I picked a pitcher and played with the 'East' team. You play 3 games against the other 3 top prospect teams (in my case West, Central and International). I started all 3 games and was only allowed to pitch 3 innings in each, no matter how good I did. After each game you'll get a little message rating your performance and at the top of the screen you'll see where you are projected to go in the draft. I went to a 1 year junior college after the first time I was drafted and the showcase was exactly the same. I actually got picked a round later than I did the first time.
I would say I did pretty well in both showcases but went in the 5th and 6th rounds. YOu might have to play god-like to be a first rounder.Comment

Thanks."I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed"

Your draft year is always 2014, you could infer that the rest of league is the same as it was the first time you did the showcase.Comment

EDIT: You also get some extra training points after you go to college.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Did you get a feel for how many training points you earn per game on average?
How is the ramp up on the cost of points per rating at the point your at?
Does the progression as it pertains to your ratings feel faster, slower, or the same as last year?
How many training points did you get for going to college?Comment

The cost of upgrading your attributes is very high. My 4 seam control is at 71 and to increase it to 72 is 127 points while my slider break is at 63 and costs 59 to upgrade to 64. However, my 4 seam velocity is at 87 and only costs 113 to upgrade to 88 so I'm still not sure how it works but I can tell that the cost of upgrading an attribute significantly increases as it gets higher.
The progression feels much slower but I am having success at my current rating so maybe your success is more based on your performance and skill than rating.
I only got about 200 but I'm sure if you choose to go to school longer, the number will be much higher.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
Thanks, that has been what I assumed would be the case since the addition of stubs lets you access 2x and 4x multipliers and such.
Was hoping you'd get more for going to school, but 200 for one year seems awfully low. I'd expect a bit more since the blog mentioned it would help you play better in the showcase your second time through.
I'm also curious if going to school to a 4-year college might make you more appealing in the draft, even if you don't spend the points? Or is it purely based on performance?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
I wanted to know if the cross platform saves from the ps3 to the ps4 apply to the franchise mode? I plan on buying Mlb the show 14 for the ps3 first, start a franchise and play until the ps4 version of the game comes out, so will I be able to transfer my franchise saved file to the ps4 game and continue my franchise?Last edited by Nate99; 03-29-2014, 03:21 AM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
I know this is a sore subject for some, but how is the outfielder depth? It has kind of bothered me how fielders play so shallow when a heavy hitter is up and then are able to run backwards and make catches that appear so casual.Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

How is the OF camera in RTTS/player lock for deep fly balls to the warning track?
Last year it made RTTS no fun for me as an outfielder, so i stuck to my infield guys. I couldnt see where I was running to. The camera either showed like an angled shot from my side (normally on line drives to the gap) or was stuck showing the infield (on the deep fly balls)
thanks guys!I used to put important things hereComment

Re: MLB The Show 14 Questions and Answers Thread
So a bit selfishly:
Did the last name "Yocum" make it in for audio on player creation?
I'm pretty sure that I was able to get it in to the thread to try to get it in this year (after several years of meaning to, wanting to, and ultimately forgetting to come around and sign up in time). I was just wondering if by chance I got it in in time before the cut off. Thanks.Comment
