Also, the game has always had notoriously fast outfield coverage, which at default will cut into you doubles...
Here's a copy / paste of A&S sliders that affect that:
Fielder Run Speed - 4
Fielder Reaction - 6 (+1)
Fielder Arm Strength - 4
The outfield will react to the ball, but not be able to run it down as quickly leading to doubles...
And they won't have pinpoint control over the throws, esp. to third when you're beating out a triple or be as likely to make that perfect throw to the plate...
Something to think about / put in the mix...
I'd tend to keep the hitting and pitching at default (except stamina) and then take a look at the globals that the slider guys are using...
I don't think they're as affected by this DD interface...
They look consistent with the way the game has ALWAYS played...
