The problem here is that as much as each of us say we are no longer putting our faith into SCEA, that we will be more cautious next time, that their "repuation" is now in doubt....their sales will not suffer one bit. Most of us here making these claims will be in line for the next years game on day one. Every year there's something that makes the game "broken" or unplayable for a huge group of people. But they still buy it again anyway. Therefore, SCEA can rightly continue to ignore us. However, yes. I am disgusted with this business practice. Most likely will be buying again, as much as I wanted to start a long franchise. It's just because there's no competition that they can get away with this. As some have said, they are no better than EA now.

You might be right "in general" but this year's game was the first I bought on day one since MLB 06.

I only have 06, 09, and 13 - and the last two I got later on and 13 was used.

So I'm confident I can wait it out. It's my standard paradigm with sports games.

Naaa, I have no problem waiting to purchase. It's what I do most of the time anyway. If the game I'm interested in has some bad obvious bugs I won't buy!! Guess it comes with age. Getting older certainly isn't all bad, it's just to bad ya can't get more of the younger ones to understand. A sign of maturity is ones ability to put off gratification or in other words, no to impulse buying.

Has anyone taken this or looked on the official Show forums? I feel the devs would be more active there than here.

Thats true for a lot of people with games, they will complain about a game being broken and say Im done buying, or done buying day 1 only to be inline to buy once again the next yr.

I for 1 have always bought MLBTS day 1 and have always been very happy with the game. Only time I have ever had any major complaints with it was back in MLBTS10 when relievers were pitching in well over 100 games a season.

That was until this year, and with these issues with franchise mode and absolutely no support from them for the PS3 after fixing the issue on the PS4 version is whats made me upset and why I say I wont purchase day 1 from now on.

I know some say it but dont mean it, thats not me I did the same to EA football games and I have even played the wait and see game with NBA2k which is my favorite game next too MLBTS. Since 2010 I have bought 1 Madden and I bought NCAA football this past yr, but none day 1. EA lost my business for the most part and I had bought their games sicne they 1st started making the football games.

Only reason I bought NBA2k14 on day 1 this yr was I felt NBA2k13 was pretty solid and they were headed in the right direction and 14 was just a tuned 13, and I have been very pleased with NBA2k14, best game 2k has ever put out imo, and I will probably be playing it until I buy a PS4 which wont be for quite a while.

Personally for me I think MLB14 is overall gameplay wise the best SCEA has ever put out, so for me I do feel I have a very good game that I can enjoy for a long time. Unfortunately to do that Im going to have to put forth more effort in controlling all teams because of budget issues and have to adjust lineups and plays ome other teams ST'ing games sicne the AI dont sub out postion players like they use too in ST'ing games to keep things more accurate sadly, and Im OCD about realsim and stats.

With that said as good as the game is, there poor support for the PS3 game shows me they are no longer trust worthy and dont deserve my money day 1 any longer. Will I buy another MLBTS game, sure I will still a great game, but it will be after I find out all issues with the game, and wait to see if they support the game.

I highly doubt I buy another game for the PS3 though, as I will wait until I can afford to buy a PS4, which wont be for quite a long time, probably a couple years anyway unfortunately.

It is a shame they have turned shaddy like the other sports gaming companies to where they arent to be trusted, because MLB14 with the franchise issues fix and ST'ing sub bug a issue fixed would be a all time classic game. IMO it would be the best sports game ever, and there best game they have ever put out.

Devs are never to be found over at the official Show Nation website. Weird I know, but they are more apt to be on here than over there.

I read where Hittersauras who is a mod over there said a patch was in the works a while back for the PS3, but with it now being July 1 I got a feeling that was nothing but BS on his part.

Maybe we will luck out and myself as well as others who have complained will look like fools when they fix it I hope thats the case, and I will gladly apologize for having lost faith in them.

Its just so late now, I think waiting it out for a patch to start your franchise mode is probably a wasted effort. Its what I have been doing cause I never trust patches with existing franchise even though they say it works for them. I always wait cause I would hate to have to restart because of somthing got messed up with the patch, always do this with every game. Id say if your waiting for the patch to drop, its probably best to either go ahead and start and enjoy it for what it is, or sell the game and be done with it, and remember come next yr that they arent to be trusted and dont buy the game day 1 and wait to see all the problems and if they fix the issues.

Listen I am not a game developer. I just play video games like a crack addict.

I don't think some of you are giving any slack to the fact that they have to be highly aware of their new feature of cross platform saving and when they patch one game it will effect the other in a cross over save!!! And we all know when you patch you can easily break something else.

I think that is why it is taking an unusually long time to get in all likelihood the last patch out for all the versions of the game. PS3/PS4/Vita.

Think about that for moment and let's put away the torches and pitchforks. I am highly confident the PS3 version has a last major patch forth coming. But they must make ultra sure it syncs with the PS4 and Vita due to the cross saving feature. I gotta believe that is a major speed bump and what they are testing and working through.

I never thought of that, thats a very good point. It never crossed my mind about the whole cross save thing from PS3 to PS4. I really hope thats the case and they its just taking time to make sure it all works as intended.

Still you would think they would be a little more open about saying hey we know there is a major flaw in Franchise mode and we are working to solve it. Seems like in the past I always remember stopping by here and seeing a Dev give info out on stuff like this. Just seems this year they arent nearly as open as Ive seen them in past years.

Anyway really hope what you said is right and it does make a lot of sense that I never even thought of.

Not sure if this is the correct thread to be asking this in but I am a rookie on here and it won't let me create a new thread. Does anyone know if I edit a players attributes, lets say speed for example, under roster management in an already started offline franchise, will it stop/alter their progression or make them regress after doing this? I see that they have Yasiel Puig's speed at 68 slower than Corey Hart rated at 70 and dealing with chronic knee issues. I know this speed rating isnt correct and I thought of moving him up to 84, +1 of Heyward ranked 83. I just don't want any players that I edit to stop getting better long term. Thank you in advance!

Season mode is actually multiple seasons so there is an off season.

You can edit players in a existing franchise and it wont effect their progression or regression.

Definitely some oddities to the SCEA roster that dont make a lot of sense. I would suggest if you dont mind starting over and using a eidted roster from someone here.

IMO the Hybrid roster is very good, and they used ZIP's calcualtions to rerate the roster, so there is no bias like you will see with the original OSFM set.

Only thing I dont like about there rerates is the speed ratings as they have to many slow guys rated to high, but I went thru and adjusted that down, which is easy to do and dont take all that long really.

I will tell you if you do take a look at that roster dont get all caught up in overall of some players. A lot of people see the overalls of some players and automatically delete it without trying it out.

I can tell you if your a stats freak like I am the Hybrid roster is the one to go with as sim stats are close to spot on, and while you will need to adjust sliders a little for gameplay you will find the stats are accurate with both playing your games and simming the other teams in franchise.

Also with overalls being a little weird 30 team control is a must to keep correct lineups and rosters. Other wise you might see a everyday player on the bench.

Really if you took the time you could rerate some of the players to put them ahead of the player that shouldnt be ahead of them, as ina lot of cases its not a big gap. Like for instance John Lester is rated a couple points lower than Jake Peavy, when everyone in their right mind knows Peavy isnt close to being the pitcher Lester is. So if that bothers you, it dont take much to get Lester ahead of Peavy in the rotation.

                                Quick question.

So I was preparing to start a new franchise, until I found out about the bug. I've decided to wait and see if there will be a patch before I start it, but I need my fix. I was planning on starting another franchise at some point, using a minor league team and having no control over the rosters. Do the CPU teams take advantage of the huuuge budget increase? Or do they spend like normal?
