Or do they spend like normal?
From all that I have heard small markets still act like small markets, so they dont use up near all that extra money.

But if it was impacting cross platform saves, what about people who play on PS3 and then move to PS4?

Say someone gets the PS4 now and of course gets MLB14 because they want to move their franchise over.

If the budget issue fixes for the in-progress franchise - what's the difference?

Isn't it the same code? The game determines the franchise budget in the offseason the same way? Wouldn't the fix be similar for either version?

If crossover saves are an issue - how would it impact PS3->PS4 at this date with the PS3 still bugged and PS4 fixed?

Or if someone has a buddy that plays PS3 - so he copies his PS4 franchise on a USB drive and takes it to his friend's PS3. It's fixed on PS4, but not on PS3...what happens then?

Yeah I'm a bit suspicious on that being the actual culprit. I'm just annoyed with them releasing a game every year that needs a patch to even be playable and live up the fanfare that was announced in order to drive sales. Anyone remember online home run derby? Was a big reason for my purchase a few years back. Then, guess what, its not available until July.

Definitely some oddities to the SCEA roster that dont make a lot of sense. I would suggest if you dont mind starting over and using a eidted roster from someone here.

IMO the Hybrid roster is very good, and they used ZIP's calcualtions to rerate the roster, so there is no bias like you will see with the original OSFM set.

Only thing I dont like about there rerates is the speed ratings as they have to many slow guys rated to high, but I went thru and adjusted that down, which is easy to do and dont take all that long really.

I will tell you if you do take a look at that roster dont get all caught up in overall of some players. A lot of people see the overalls of some players and automatically delete it without trying it out.

I can tell you if your a stats freak like I am the Hybrid roster is the one to go with as sim stats are close to spot on, and while you will need to adjust sliders a little for gameplay you will find the stats are accurate with both playing your games and simming the other teams in franchise.

Also with overalls being a little weird 30 team control is a must to keep correct lineups and rosters. Other wise you might see a everyday player on the bench.

Really if you took the time you could rerate some of the players to put them ahead of the player that shouldnt be ahead of them, as ina lot of cases its not a big gap. Like for instance John Lester is rated a couple points lower than Jake Peavy, when everyone in their right mind knows Peavy isnt close to being the pitcher Lester is. So if that bothers you, it dont take much to get Lester ahead of Peavy in the rotation.

          Thanks CaseIH!!!

I haven't reached the end of my season yet, so I'm going to need your guy's help on this. I've read a few times on here that with this defect the budgets increase at an alarming rate for small market teams, but the small market teams still carry on as if they don't have the money to go out and sign top flight guys. If this is true, outside of cosmetics, what facet does this really impact? Not trying to stir things up, just an honest question.

All teams budgets increase at an alarming rate, thus you'll have to make a bunch of house rules to begin with....

Yeah thats the thing that really sucks about this issue is having to have house rules for yourself, cause after a couple years every team has a huge chunk of money to burn. Thankfully it sounds like small market teams still act like it and dont use nearly all that money, but still without house rules you can basically build a powerhouse with any team in baseball.

I know they have said they is a patch in the works for the PS3, but at this point Im not sure what to believe. Were almost at All-Star break and I know a lot of people have been holding out on starting a franchise waiting on a fix, including myself. I would start but I never trust that a patch wont screw up something and then I have to start over, so I wait. Im thinking if its not here by Tuesday I might go ahead and start my chise, cause Id say the talks of a patch is just us being BS'ed.

I know very few will do this, but what people should do is not buy the game day 1 next year and play the wait and see game to see how much support they give the PS3 game.

Personally for me I dont plan on buying another game for the PS3, and save up and hopefully in a couple years I can get a PS4. I do know from now on Im not buying this game day 1 again, which is what I started doing with EA football games a few years ago, and what I have done before with NBA2k, since both companies have been known to be shaddy. Its looking like SCEA might be taking a page out of their book now sadly.

2 words: multi-year saves. What is screwed up in this year's edition carries through to MLBTS15. When SCEA fixes offseason AI and you've got teams with 300 million to burn....

Yeah, I understand that, but won't the computer AI still continue to spend as their real life counterparts? If the Royals have $300 million to burn why would it matter if they're still spending like they only have $100 million? Sure, I control the A's and have to have some house rules, but other than that, the budget issue just seem cosmetic - to me at least. That's not to say I don't want it fixed. I'm all for getting it patched and having realistic budgets.

I also believe there was or is problems with a lot of the young star players signing for multiple years at next to nothing.
I could be wrong but I believe I remember reading about that. tabarnes would be the one in the know about these things. Do a search or look at the threads he has responded in. A great deal of information in them. Also Knight is pretty much in the know to I believe.

Oh yeah, you're right. I do recall that now that you mention it. That's a huge issue. Ok, well I guess I'll hold off on hitting the off season in my franchise. I only have 10 games left. I hope this all gets patched on Tuesday!

The one feature I would like to see in franchise, is ability to take batting practice inside your franchise, will the players you have.

Well guys its July 11 and their still no patch for the ps3 on the budget issue. Its seem they want us to make a switch to ps4 since the ps4 receive a patch before the ps3.Since the majority of ps3 user are content with one year of franchise play. You would think many of the ps3 user would voice their frustrating buying a product that still has a bug issue that hasn't been fix.I just wish scea could just let us know the issue is being look into.I guess i have to reconsider any future purchase of any mlb show games if this is the norm.

The only option left is to just play one year, stop before the last game and hold onto the franchise for the next edition.... but that only encourages them to not fix it since we'll end up spending the $60 again.

Gah, feel like a sucka for buying it this year.
