    Re: Knight - classic teams

Is Mrs. Knight a big baseball fan too ? And if she is, what team ? I guess it would have to be the mets right ? Knight, i know i said before that i was a Yankee fan ( from queens ) but not a typical, mets hating one. I have NO problem with the mets at all, unless the yanks are playing them . I actually will pull for em', like all the NY teams. But i am a BIG Yankee, Giant , and Knicks fan.

That dynasty page sounds cool. I used to love this week in baseball. Sat afternoons.

One more thing , Knight, i was just wondering what sliders you used ? And if they are your own ones, could you post em ?

      Re: Knight - classic teams

I'm going thru the roster and changing the players that don't have correct commentary names to the SCEA players that do (with Knight's ratings).

      Here's the players I found:

      Yogi Berra
      Fisk/White Sox
      Dave Winfield-Clev
      Ryan Sandberg
      Johnny Bench
      Robin Yount
      Willie Stargell-LF
      Ozzie Smith
      Paul Molitor
      Tony Gwynn
      Willie McCovey
      Eckersly- A's-CL
      Gaylord-Tex
      Ryan - Hou
      Drysdale
      Juan Marichal

        Re: Knight - classic teams

Here's a post I did a while back that has all the legends (unless I overlooked one) that SCEA included in the game. I haven't checked to see which one's have their names called on Knights roster, but this will at least help you locate them all. I'm leaving them all as Knight's myself, but I can see why that would bother some people. I usually don't have my volume up loud enough to matter anyway. HTH.

Knight quick question here. Is the final update done, complete with the balancing that you planned to do? Just curious, if there is something more recent than the Classic 30?

            Thanks..

              yes.....

I dropped some of the /9 attributes for pitchers by 4 and 5(mostly 4...just an extra drop of a point for some) to increase BB and H and lower K's a bit.

                  Playing as the Giants.

Just finished my first series. Lost 2 of 3 to the Brewers, L 6-3, W 12-6, L 8-7. The starting pitching is not looking good, at all. Highlight of the series: A Willie Mays grand slam. I wouls show a video, but I got the dreaded replay glitch.

Going to San Diego for three next.

Ha...you just found the "secret" of the '62 Giants.
Yes...O'Dell-Sanford-Marichal combined for 60 or so wins.....but they had 3.5(or so) ERA's ....gave up their fair share of hits....walked a few too many and didn't strike out that many guys.....which added up to ...
You need to bash the other guys over the head(looks like you did your share with Willie...Orlando...Alou....McCovey and even the two catchers(who I think combined for 30+ homers)...
Those 103 wins that year....weren't due to GREAT pitching(it was good though)

                    Hope you had fun!

                      Having a blast.

Want to know something funny? I had 1 HR that series. It was the grand slam, I feel like I really earned that one. I worked the count until 3-1, picked a spot, watched the ball come in, and pressed square at the perfect time. A 438 foot bomb was the result.

                        Me too.

Was having a laugher...winning 7-0 against the Reds in Game 2....but a Pete Rose homer here....a Tony Perez double there...and it was 7-5 by the eighth. Orosco came in and held it down...but not without giving me the fits.
It ended 7-5.....16 hits for the Mets...11 for the Reds.
                        Darling got the win.
                        Gullett the loss.

With Knight's permission, I have gone thru and replaced players that were in the SCEA list, but didn't have the commentary names. They all have Knight's ratings and are inserted into the lineup just as they were before. So, if like me you'd rather have correct names over correct faces, then here you go.

Please don't post this on SportsConnect.

                            http://www.sendspace.com/file/lphdg5

Here's a list of the players changed. Everyone else (like Reggie Jackson) were able to be named by Knight, so I didn't bother. If I missed any, please PM me and say so! (But I don't think I did). Great work Knight, I've played a few games with my beloved Cardinals from my childhood and it's a real blast. Can't wait to dive into a season, although I don't know where I'll find the time.

                              Re: Knight - classic teams

Let me kick off this post by saying that I love that SCEA provided a very, very easy way to take videos and pictures from our game and copy them to our HDD. I love this, and I love posting pictures/vids.

Now let me tell you all a story. I was in my RTTS, and hadn't saved all day (my fault, I know). I went to take a vid of my grand slam, but I got replay glitched. Oh well, I went on with the game. After the game ended, I went to save my RTTS. Apparently I needed a LOT of free space, although I had more than enough to save. So when I went to delete things to free up this massive lot, I noticed my free space was going down. I lost my RTTS, and now every time I replay glitch, I sim to the end when possible, just in case. It hasn't failed me yet, I need to free up about 23 MB every time I glitch. I know this will be fixed for next year, just thought I would let you all know that I needed to sim the last few innings of this game.

                              Ok, back to the game:

When my pitcher came up, this happened.

Thats right, they hit my pitcher! So...

Afterwards: (Injuries off due to CPU roster control)

                              Accident.

Game pressed on, and later in the inning, this happened. Sucks to be that pitcher...

Even more so after Filipe Alou hit a GRAND SLAM!!! (Sorry about the bad camera work, I tried to re-do it but glitched! )

And that cuts my stuff short, I hit a pinch-hit solo shot with Willie McCovy later in the game. I simmed to the end after the inning and lost 6-5.
