      rickmitch;

      I just prefer my created players to the Classic Players included in the game.

      Now....I had to run out this afternoon, so I wound up having to save my game tied in the ninth at 2-2. Preston Wilson hit a single in the Florida 9th...but Mahomes held tight and managed to get through the inning. In the Met half....Ricky Bones in his third inning of relief gave up nothing. Ziele walked and so did Payton(with two outs)...but Daryl Hamilton,pinch hitting for Rey Ordonez flied out to right field to end the threat.I'm down to two bench players...Joe McEwing and Todd Pratt.

        Nice work on the set Knight! These are probably one of my favorite works that you have done. I did a Braves franchise and the Mets beat us by two games in the NL East. The good thing about it was the Braves got the Wild Card instead. In the playoffs, we lost to the Dodgers, while the Mets sweep the Astros. The Mets almost made it to the World Series, but lost in 7 to the Dodgers. They ended up beating the Yanks in 7 as well. Pretty much the achillies heel for the Mets in the post season was their starting pitchers. Rusch and Hapton went a total of 1-3 combined with an ERA in the 11's combinded. While Leiter on the other hand was lights out. He went 2-0, with a 1.23 ERA in 3 postseason starts. Also for Game 7 of the world series, it was Garry Sheffield's grand slam which put the Yanks away. Overall, very good set Knight. Im also looking forward for your classic teams set as well.

                Nice.
                I just remember one off the top of my head for the Mets....I wish I didn't...but I do..."Who Let the Dogs Out". I think it might have been Derek Bell.

                  Man, I was just thinking how cool that would be while playing an Exhibition game today between the Yankees and Mets. Sorry, Knight, the Yanks got us once again. Pettitte was staked to an early 3-0 lead and although I got to him finally in the 7th (Melvin Mora with a 2-run pinch-hit single), I lost 4-2. Great game, though.

                  I will do some research on walkup songs and post what I find.

                    So knight what is the recommended way to play this 2000 season out in a franchise...we clearly can't leave moves up to the cpu as you've still got current guys in the minors, correct??? so are we to just make the moves on your transaction sheets, or, ...what do you recommend?
                    MLB: Chicago Cubs
                    NCAA Hoops: Georgetown Hoyas
                    NBA: Los Angeles Lakers
                    NFL: Kansas City Chiefs
                    NCAA Football: Nebraska Cornhuskers
                    HS Football: Rolla High School Bulldogs '95 (12-1)

                      You are on the right track. See below comments from Knight's original post in this thread. I'll also add that he did indeed state that you have to choose Franchise Mode and not Season Mode in order to be able to have all the guys available that he created.

                      It will include EVERY player who played in the 2000 season....rated....face...equipment and stances.
                      This set is meant to be played(but it doesn't have to be if you want to really try and re-write history) with 30 team control on in order to follow the season exactly with transactions.
                      I will also include a transaction page for each day, so that you can make the trades/releases/signings on the day it happened. I don't know if there is an injury list available anywhere though. Basically with this...what I do is .....buy an appointment book(that lists each date and then has 15 lines for your appointments)...and write the transactions in....check them off as I take that action....for instance....Melvin Mora will start on the Mets and Mike Bordick will start on the Orioles(every player will start on their original team in the set).....they were eventually traded for each other on July 28th. www.baseballreference.com has an excellent transaction page for each team to follow it online if you wish....eg.. http://www.baseball-reference.com/te...sactions.shtml..

                        emas;

                        When I start I choose all 30 teams with 30 team control.
                        I set my team that I want to control to my profile and the other 29 to NO PROFILE.
                        I then set the options for those teams to everything MANUAL except for REHAB-BANKING-TRAVEL-PROMOTIONS(whatever it's called).
                        Injuries-MANUAL
                        I sim through Spring Training and stop on day 1 of the schedule. I then save the franchise as it is there and do NOT write over that save...that's my go to start all over save.
                        Now here is where you can "force" the CPU to use the players you want. I only have 25 guys on the 40 man.....and if you add the other 15 that you want at this point...the CPU will use those first if you injure players(but don't want to do the call ups and such)
                        I usually choose the pitchers who might have 5+ starts and the top three or four appearances...and then fill in the rest going down the games played for the position players.
                        I then check the trades/transactions for that day and make them and re-arrange the lineups if necessary.
                        Once the 40 man rosters actually contain 40 guys(you can do this as you play your season(setting the team you are about to play and a "sister" team from the other league) if you do what I do which is......I leave injuries on manual and sim the games for that day through the VIEW GAMES portion of the schedule screen....make sure to sim not only the MLB games but the two minor league screens also(RIGHT STICK cycles the levels on that screen as well)...now you only have YOUR MLB game from that day left....back out of the schedule and go back into GAMEPLAY on the front end. Put injuries from MANUAL to ON(and have the injury slider cranked to MAX)...and this way you might get an injury in your game. This is just to add a little spice to the franchise....you might have to make a decision on roster moves now. If the injury is too long....you still can change it...so it's not "unrealistic". MAKE SURE you go back into GAMEPLAY and put injuries back to MANUAL before you save your franchise after the game is played....you are then ready for the next day on you schedule.
                        I will be going through the team pages again and looking at "regular" players that played less than 120 games. I want to set some sort of injury(that you will manually injure) schedule for those players.
                        Other than that....I just play the games....it's not as much work as you would think even making the moves for the CPU. The reason I put in every player...was not so much to expect to see them used by the CPU teams but more for them to be there for the USER to have if they want to use them.
                        Hopefully....there will be someone who uses this set for every team in the league..and make it worth my while!

                          I really, really love this roster and doing a franchise with it!!!

                          but the splits in the atributes are just brutal! for example Bonds... he has like 30 contact against lefties... does not sound that bad as he end up hitting .235 against them that year... the problem is that the year before that (1999) he hit .337 against lefties and .279 in 1998. so 2000 was just only a bad year against lefties. (he has a better average against lefties(.302) in his career, than right handed pitchers (.294)

                          I am just going to fix it for myself and the roster is set for the a franchise.

                          love the roster...

                            Man the Cubs are bad...just played the first series against the Braves, dropping the first 3 games (6-5 in 10, 7-6, and 2-1)...hitting has been a big weakness here and lieber got pounded in game 1...henry rodriguez and glenallen each have a pair of bombs as Sosa still has yet to produce a base hit...got so mad in the last game that i nearly turned down the difficulty but i was able to resist...these are too SWEEET!...off topic question...can you hit the apple @ NY for the trophy during home run derby? reason i ask is cause it looks like its hidden behind the wall...also ive finished 1999 transactions and with knights permission as well as needing to rerate for the 99 season i should have these up once rated...i figured that using knights roster as a base, we could roll out 3 or 4 years in either direction in short time...im using ootp to follow where players go and will be using bahnzo for reratings...then my plan is to use Joey's (with his permission of course) to fill in 87 and go back and do 85 and 84...it is actually quite easy with most of the work done...ideally we could have every season through 2010 by xmas with a little help...Anyone up for helping with season ratings should i up the 1999 tonight or should i rate them and then post? if someone can help rate, then i can start working on transactions for 1998...only took me 6 hrs to make all the moves and create a few players so like i was sayin these can be rollin out quick...MUCH THANKS again Knight & Joey for enhancing our Show experience!!! PLEASE SCEA let us carry over rosters next year!!!

                                If your going to be playing multiple seasons in franchise, you should do what I did and edit it up to around 70+. There are a numberly of players that have very year centric ratings, much like default MLB The Show ratings can be sometimes, but they are fairly easy to spot if you want to adjust that sort of thing.
