Re: Turn Back the Clock: 2000 Season Replay-A Subway Series

Just had game 2 of my own "ALCS" and couldnt even touch El Duque. Tossed 6 innings, allowed 4 hits, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Keeping stats for both teams to see how they are doing and Nixon already is batting .500 (4 of 8) with 2 bombs and 3 RBIs (also has a walk). Game 3 will be Pete Schourek against David Cone . Pedro is gonna start game 4 so if I can pull off a win, I will be in fantastic shape to play the Mets in the world series . Cant wait to see your AL West knight.

Played a couple of games last night, BOS vs NYY & then the NYY vs NYM. Got shelled as the BoSox but squeaked out a 3-2 victory as the Mets thanks to Edgardo Alfonzo's homerun and 2 RBI's. Hampton went 7+ for me & was charged with 2 runs (Turk allowed the 2nd run to score), then Benitez closed it out.

If you were told that someone from the 2000 Red Sox team would get ran from a game, who would be the first person that came to your mind? You guessed it, Carl Everett. Funny how things like that work out.

Box Score from my NYY / NYM game.

This time Leiter vs. Clemens at Yankee Stadium.
Shane Spencer gave them the 1-0 lead in the second on a solo shot to right(just like last game...Derek Bell ALMOST jumped at the wall to get it...this one bounced off the top of the wall and over).
We tied it in the 5th with a solo shot by Todd Zeile.
They took the lead in the eighth off of John Franco(oh Johnny....I gave you the shot because you are a N.Y. boy..... )...and of course Mariano shut 'em down in the ninth...not even a whiff of trouble.
Gonna be tough to beat them in a seven game series....especially with Rusch/Reed/Jones as our back end of the staff.

Also...I think I'm going to put only 25 guys on the 40 man....this way it doesn't change the set lineups after Spring Training...then give you the list of guys for each team to add to the 40 man on Day 1 of the regular season.

Knight, sounds like a good plan for the rosters.

Oh man, Franco used to drive me NUTS back in the day. It's hard to remember a game where he didn't put 2-3 runners on base; he'd seemingly always give the other team a chance to come back and win the game. Most times he figured out how to wiggle out of the mess he created but dang, it was so tough watching those 9th innings sometimes.

Yeah....well he did it again last night!(I know...I know...I said no more, but last night was the LAST one ...I swear...It's just that I finished the full Mets team up last night and wanted to use Super Joe and some of other subs in a game before I moved on)
Again...Mets vs. Yanks....last game they would see each other(regular season)...Father's Day.
          Rick Reed vs. David Cone.
Coney just didn't have it last night and he promptly gave up solo homers in the first to Derek Bell and a MONSTER shot to CF to Mike Piazza.
Then in the fourth he served up another shot to Benny Agbayani with 2 men on and that was it for Cone.
We tacked on 3 more runs on Yankee releivers Grimsley, Watson and Nelson.....and entered the eighth inning up 8-1.
I go to Johnny again and after giving up walks and hits the score was 8-2.
I decide to give him one more hitter(waiting for Dennis Cook or Benitez to get warm)...Bernie Williams and that was a mistake, as he unloads on Franco to make it a 8-5 game. Cook comes in settles them down and then Benitez closes it out(of course...the game was meaningless )

Hey knight, how are the rosters going? Am in game 5 of my ALCS and the series is tied up at 2. I decided to save Pedro for game 5. Trot Nixon is doing so well for me, hitting 6-14 (.428) with 2 HR, 5 RBI's, 2 2B, and 4 walks. Looks like the ALCS mvp if I win it. Carl Everett hasnt done a thing with me with 1 hit in 15 at bats.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 2000 Season Replay-A Subway Series

I just played a game between Jays and Rays.. both in retro jerseys. I had a blast! Traschel against Wells. I killed Traschel, he was gone after 2 innings, belting 4 homeruns, including a 434ft bomb by Fletcher (which is my farthest in a regular game I believe) Won 11-6. Koch played the last inning and was his typicial self.. he gave up 2 runs in 4 hits but I left him on as I was way ahead and still managed to finish. Oh yeah, the broadcaster was pissed I pulled a drag bunt single with Homer Bush after being up 6-0 lol. He ended up stealing and scoring. I knew it wasn't the right thing to do but just wanted to do it for the heck of it lol.

Oh yeah.. Generic 15 is Fullmer's real stance, so give Fullmer that (it has his leg lift up before getting ready for the pitch) I noticed it when Alex Gonzalez was batting.

Haven't played as many games since this roster is up. Being a Boston fan took on the Yanks. 7.0 IP, 5 Hits, 2 ER and 13ks. That was hard work, those guys are diciplined at the plate. Now NYY WHOSE YOUR DADDY. Keep up the excellent work Knight, looking forward to future releases.

I just had my game 7 and lost to those darn yankees. Fact is, they have pretty good pitching. Trot Nixon did very well for me though. He ended up batting .444 (11 of 25) with 3 HR, 7 RBI, 4 2B, 5 BB, and a SB. It was Andy Pettite vs. Ramon Martinez. I will try and play out a world series between the Yanks and Mets. Of course, I will take over the Mets now

I'm glad you guys are enjoying these. They are coming along pretty good right now.
I've completed the Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants.
                    So that makes...
                    The entire A.L. East....Mets-Braves-Giants.
I played a Braves-Giants game last night Maddux vs. Estes.
Maddux was his usual masterful self....keeping the dangerous Giant lineup off balance all night(except Marvin Benard...he had 2 doubles and a triple).
That Giant lineup was truly balanced(L/R)...with Bonds/Kent/Snow/Burks as the 3-4-5-6 hitters in the lineup.
The game was 6-2 final...Chipper with a 2 run bomb the only homerun.
I'm really having fun going on with this set.

I'll be working on the Classic Set for the next couple of days...then back to these.

                            Only cold seltzers for me...
...and it wasn't the vultures or fresh water sharks I had to watch out for....it was my wife....I was supposed to meet her at the auto shop so she could have some maintenance done on her vehicle....she called me 7 times so she was none too happy when she came down the hill and saw me floating on the raft.

                            It went something like this...
                            Me: "Hi hon"

I finished up the starting 25 for the Cardinals last night.
Question....do you guys want me to keep the players still playing or create them all? Jim Edmonds(not from SCEA) got me thinking this last night...as well as quite a few players like Bako, Reneria, Tatis, Chipper, and such who don't quite look now how they did just 10 years ago.
