I'll actually start one tonight, once Opening Day rosters are posted. I'll even be doing the Pitch Edits as posted in another thread...I'll even go through all the minor league players. Probably FA's too...

Ideally, you want the league leaders to be *better* than the ZiPS projected as the regular old mean projections you typically seen in ZiPS are just that - mean projections. But leaders tend to be guys that are beating their projections!

Re: Made my own ratings calculator

My thing is in past versions of the game the minor league hitters seemed to be overpowered by the pitchers and whenever I played a game there were never any realistic results.

I am trying to master the formulas for what does what and how it works in projecting realistic simulation stats while playing just as nicely.

I want to play AA games with Gyorko and Arenado and get 100+ RBI. The engine was consistently generating very odd results.

I have tried everything you can imagine when it comes to simulations. I wouls have power at 38 vR and 72 vL for instance for a specific hitter to generate realistic results.

These are unofficial right? I know theRunandShoot is gonna be working on OSFM v2 once the OD set comes out, and I was supposed to work on v3, but I have no problem passing it off to someone else...

Which pitch edits are you using, Scott? The Official one or Mavs? Are they pretty close? By the way, I figured out a way to do Pitcher clutch. I used Fangraphs and added it. I will post a new one in a bit.

Mavs...Can you also put the Baserunning Ability & Baserunning Aggressiveness in? I put it in the one I did, so if you need the formula it's...

                  Baserunning Ability==LOOKUP(A:A,'2012 Zip Proj.'!A:A,'2012 Zip Proj.'!P:P)
                  Baserunning Aggressiveness=LOOKUP(A:A,'2012 Zip Proj.'!A:A,'2012 Zip Proj.'!Q:Q)

All I did was add a SB% on the Projections sheet for O.
Baserunning Ability was P, which was (Q/94)*100
Baserunning Aggressiveness was Q, which was SB+CS/80*100

                      Dan,

Is there a way to project fielding stats and add pitcher batting projections to zips?

Just started working on this, already finished the Rangers. I will share this roster, although I did add Jairo Beras onto Texas, his eligibility is still up in the air, so you can either release him or keep him on that team.

                          Top Rated Players for Texas:
                          Kinsler
                          Beltre
                          Cruz
                          Hamilton
                          Napoli
                          Darvish
                          Andrus
                          Young
Nathan....and I haven't updated the pitch types, that'll finish after I'm through with everyone's rating...I hope to have this completed by next week. I'll have tomorrow afternoon and all day friday to work, so I hope to atleast be 1/4 of the way finished by then.

Does anyone know if reaction affects a catcher's pop time? I have Montero's pop unofficially at 2.11; Ksig if your out there, is average pop still about 1.9? I'd like to give Montero a 75 arm and 40 reaction, but only if pop time is truly affected.

Re: Made my own ratings calculator

                              Great calculator, nicely done.
I have a question in regards to pitcher ratings.

I found Knight's google doc for pitcher ratings here:
                              https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...CNfuz-kN#gid=0

I'd like to use these ratings, but I have no idea what he considers "a season" for the ratings.
For instance his K/9 rating is based off K's per season, but obviously a shutdown closer will have less K's than a starter but Paul Maholm, but the closer obviously has a better strikeout rate.

Do any of you guys know a good calculator for pitcher ratings (mainly H/9, BB/9, K/9, HR/9)?

I have a spreadsheet with pitcher per 9 inning averages, but I have no idea what the rating equivalent would be in the game.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey thank you to everyone who is working on these rosters to make them great.....I know Scott has mentioned he is working on a final set using the OSFM opening day roster and putting in the rating updates, but curious if anyone else is working on a set also, if so will it be in the vault for download....

hope this was not answered already.... if so my bad.

I just am looking for a good accurate set to use with TNK sliders....so I can start a franchise.
