This is my exact point when I say that not much needs to be changed.

Why is it that "the sliders must have glitched up b/c they weren't working right" as opposed to you just "thinking" they're actually having an effect?

Either way, I'm attributing it to Placebo here. I'm having varied hits all over the place with the settings at default. But hey... sliders are there to tweak the game so YOU feel better, right?

There's not much that needs to be changed... some tweaks, which I've already listed help to induce a bit more variability:

-Pitch Count: Maxed to the right
-Pitch Speed: +2
-Arm Strength: -1
-Arm Accuracy: -1
-Errors: +2 (roughly)

I agree with you. This default sliders play real good for me. I see all types of hits. I think it has to do with timing and zone. I am not getting the timing and zone down, so I am just missing the sweet spot! But I will try what you are using what level do you play. I am still on all star!

Thanks guys for all your efforts on these sliders. I think I found my set to start my franchise thanks to you guys. Here's what I'm going with.

Pitch Count: Maxed
Pitch Speed: + 2
Contact: 0
Arm Strength: - 2
Arm Accuracy - 2
Errors: + 3
CPU Agg Run: Maxed

Everything else at default.

Everything is being hit towards center field, just like last year. I haven't tweaked the sliders much, but something has to fix this issue. If I have 10 hits, 8 of them are to CF.

I am also seeing way too many passed balls and wild pitches for the CPU with the pitch count slider turned all the way up. I don't know if that is what is causing it, but it's borderline rediculous. I'm seeing 3 or 4 a game and the CPU hits, at least, 1 guy every game. Last game against the Cubs, Zambrano threw 4 wild pitches and hit 3 guys. Why?

I am also using a "tight" strike zone, it's much harder to pitch that way. I do like how you scores will vary from game to game. I had 15 runs on 24 hits against the Pirates on All-Star level so I went up to HOF level and scored 3 runs on 11 hits, but still won the game. After the HOF level game, I played the Cubs and lost 7-2 on All-Star. The only difference I see in HOF and All-Star is that it's harder to hit.

One other thing, the CPU doesn't chast enough pitches out of the zone for my taste. With the strike zone dissapearing quickly it's hard to really judge though.

I haven't tweaked the sliders much, but I plan on doing a lot of that this week. This game needs some work to be the game we want it to be. I don't see much difference, at all, from last year in the gameplay department.

What's seems to be the consensus on tweaking the Contact slider? I see some guys have it set at 0, and others have it at default.

I guess I don't know what the Contact slider actually does. What exactly does the Contact slider set at 0 attempt to alter/fix?

It is supposed to give you a varitey of hits like in last years game at 0, but I have left it at default for now and getting a good amount of different hits.

i agree..i set it at 0 for some games, and it didnt increse the cariety of hits like in past years game..so i dont really know now ecxacly what is contact for..need more testing.

Yeah last night I was playing as the Royals against the White Sox and Freddy Garcia. I reached base three times on dropped third strikes that Pierzynski couldnt handle and Garcia hit 2 batters. I thought this was extremely strange and I got frsutrated and shut the game off.

i agree guys..every game at least one guy gets hit by the picther...but most of the game there are more then 2 HBP...thats too much..i will lower the picht count slider to +5(from default) instead of all the way up..and see what happens...

It depends on the teams you use, i doubt one set of sliders with contac at 0 will give you the same experience as another team as each team has diffrent players and diffrent contact settings and power for each.

With contact at 0, I'm just seeing singles and HRs (very very few doubles).

just played a game with 0contact and 8 power...scored 6 runs in 11 hits..
1 triple, 3 doubles and 2HR...so wuite nica hit variety..and also so some choppers and bloopers

What kind of doubles, long fly ball doubles that are nearly HRs or line drive doubles in the gaps or down the lines. Also, I think power at 8 yields more doubles. I was playing contact 0 power 11 and seeing very few doubles that weren't near HRs. Power at 8 definitely yields some nice bloopers too, I just wasn't getting enough HRs.

I've seen all types of doubles, gappers, down the line, off the wall, etc.. I actually had a triple my last game. The only thing I've had issues with is errors. I have arm strength and accuracy both at -2 and have only had 1 error the last six games and that was on a pickoff move.
