    Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

i know I know, I just have this severe complex problem that makes me think I have to play games on the same level as the experts. and if I don't then I don't think I am where I need to be. I am playing with the rangers, so it would be real for me to take my lumps like chumps.

Give it a shot, play a few games though to judge properly. Let me know if you need any help!

To be honest I do not know how these would play on ALL Star. I know a few people tried Edwy's AllStar Sliders and seem to like it for that level. He has not posted in a long time so if you have a question, let me know and I can try to answer it for you!

cool, appreciate the hard work you have done. People like you make these games even better than what they are. The availability is awesome too.

i pretty much play with these on all star. I had to change a few things to make it a little harder. I just cant hit on HOF so I had to jump down. i play with classsic pitching so I dropped command to -4 and pitch movement is at 0 (default) I am using set 2 for both HUM and CPU. you may need to drop down power by 1 or 2 if you are hitting too many HRs. But i really enjoy nemesis' sliders on all star.

dude i have some problems with these sliders

im using the -8/0 and -8/-2 sliders for human and CPU contact

also using +6 Plate AWR for humans and +5 plate discipline for the CPU

I played four innings of the Diamondbacks (me) at the Rockies

there wasnt enough hits or offense, I only had one hit, and they had one run and three hits, but still not enough offense

I only had one strikeout with Brandon Webb, and even though I know changing the plate discipline would make me have more, Im reluctant to change the slider because I want the CPU to take pitches to make my pitch count be realistic

still, the lack of offense annoys me, I want to be able to do SOMETHING at the plate

There are 9 innings in a game. I really do not know what you are looking for in a 4 inning snapshot? Sometimes there is offense and sometimes there is not. The only way you can really evaluate things is by playing a few full games at a clip. Then you can make adjustments accordingly.

                    Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

sorry I may have been hasty, but I tend to be a little impatient

I played a nine inning game with the "more offense" settings -6,+2 for me and -8/0 for the CPU

I liked them a lot better, despite the fact there were 25 combined hits, 13 for Colorado and 12 for me, but it was in Coors Field so that may effect the hit totals

I ended up winning 5-4 and I was really pleased with how the revised sliders played, these may be the sliders for me

Webb went 6 innings and gave up 4 runs on 10 hits while striking out 3 (Juan Cruz got the win)

Francis went 7, gave up 4 on 8 and struck out 5 (Reynel Pinto got the loss)

Stephen Drew hit a three run homer in the top of the seventh to tie the game, Conor Jackson scored the winning run on an RBI groundout by Chris Young

Overall a good game, despite the high and somewhat unrealistic hit totals, I will try these in my D'Backs dynasty.

The high offense settings really generate a lot of hits! I gave that option because some people like that out of a baseball game. On the lower settings you really have to work for your hits! Thanks for giving these a try and if there is anymore tweaking that you may need let me know!

                        Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

hey nemesis, i dl'd your sliders off the net. And im doing horrible lol. BUt im not changing anything cuz it makes it difficult, which it should be. Im doing good with pitching, but i cant hit for nada. but thats cuz im struggling with the zone hitting. Which ill get the hang of. (im used to swing stick and 2k's garbage classic hitting system). Once i get hitting down ill be str8. Also, i threw a no-no with wainwright vs the giants. It was awesome, not a perfect game cuz i walked two. BUt im getting realistic hits and what not. BUt im the worst hitting team in the lg. Just no timely hitting. So i get hits, bout 5-10 a game but cant routinely bunch a couple hits together.

Any suggestions on hitting better without adjusting sliders?

well, personally I prefer an unrealistically high hit total to an unrealistically low hit total and 1000 strikeouts per game

I played the same exact game as you and had a low scoring, low hitting game. I'm using con -9/pow +1 human and -8/-1 cpu. It was a great game. Keep in mind, the D'backs without editing are not an offensive team. They are about pitching and defense. The following game, I had 6 runs on 12 hits so no matter what sliders you decide, you will get low scoring games. Don't tinker too much, you'll stop enjoying the game.

no these are definitely my sliders

next game was a great one, won it 2-1 in the 12th

next one vs the Nats was very offensive, 14 combined runs (won 8-6), it was a really competitive game, and i had success at the plate 8 runs on 12 hits

three errors combined, very realistic seeing as the game before was 12 innings with no errors

basically what i want from a set of sliders is one that, while providing a challenge, will give me a different game every time i play, which these does

                              great job on them

I agree. I went back and forth between a few of the slider sets on sportsconnect and Nemesis' are the best. I look forward to playing each game. I did a fantasy draft and stacked my team with great starting pitching and I am having a blast right now! Beckett, Verlander, Bartolo Colon, Trevor Hoffman as my closer. My middle infield is a little weak and I gotta couple of vets in my outfield (Sosa and Griffey),trying for one more chance to get a championship. If MLB 08 is actually going to be "better" than this game already is, it WILL be the best baseball game of all time. Great work NEM.
