Nemesis, I like your slider work. I usually do my own sliders for games, but this being the very first time I have ever played The Show, I used your slider as a base set to start with. I really had no idea what to expect.
Maybe you can help me a little here. My initial observations of the game out of the box with default sliders is...

    1. The CPU hits the ball solid and on a rope almost every single time. I need a setting to reduce this, and cause for more weakly hit balls and bloop hits, etc.

    2. While sometimes I pitch the ball right where I want it, other times I feel like I am aiming here and performing the meter correctly, yet I pitch it entirely somewhere else. Other times, I aim it here, feel a little off on the meter and yet I come pretty close to my target. I want a setting that makes me have to execute the pitches, yet forces me to throw several balls. I want command problems at times, just like MLB pitchers have.

    3. I don't really notice a lot of HR's. Which is good, but I want the CPU and me to have the ability to hit some as well. Especially on some bad pitches.

    4. As far as fielding goes... I'm not sure what to think. Sometimes I think the fielders throw too hard, while others I feel like I should have thrown him out but didn't get it there fast enough.

    5. Fielding continued... sometimes I think the fielder speed is right on. Yet I'm not sure if I or the CPU is hitting enough extra base hits. I'm undecided on this right now.

Those are just a few of my thoughts. I would definitely take your advice on this since I'm very new to the game and the sliders for the game. I'll go look at my sliders and post them here for you to review and help out, if you don't mind? I basically used yours, with a few slight changes. No reason for changing, just trying stuff out right now.

Okay Nemesis, here's what I started with... please give advice as you see fit. I'll just mark in bold what I changed, if I used your setting then I left it as is...

      Human

      Pitcher Fatigue:
      -Starting: 0
-Relief: 0 (I have brought this back to zero, I am not convinced that bringing it into the - reduces stamina.)
      Pitch movement: +7 / 0
      Pitch Command: -8
      Wild Pitch Freq: +2
Contact: -10 (If you are finding too many weakly hit balls for your taste put this slider at -8. Do the same for the cpu)
      Power: +1
      Plate Awareness: -3 / -2
      Error Freq: +10
      Throwing Strength: +3 / +1
      Throwing Accuracy: -3 / -2
      Fielder Speed: -2 / 0
      Passed Ball Freq: +1 / 0
      Injury: +3 / +2

      CPU

      Pitcher Aggr.: -8
      Pickoff Attempt Freq.: -6 / 0
      Contact: -10 / -8
      Power: -1 / +1
      Batter Plate Discipline: -5
      Fielder Reaction Time: -9 / -5
      Throwing Strength: +3 / +1
      Throwing Accuracy: -3 / -2
      Error Freq: +10
      Base running Aggr.: -4 / -2
      Stealing Aggr.: +2 / 0
      Stolen Base Freq.: +3 / 0
      Injury: +3 / +2
      Hook: +3 / +2

      Global

Pitch Speed: 0 (I like default but this you can adjust to your liking)
      Umpire consistency: -4 / -2
      Pitch Count: +5 / +10
      Wind: +7 / +5

So basically a few changes, but minor. What do you think?

        Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

I use a somewhat modded version of these sliders, and Ive played about 10 games so far on the ps3.

I had the ps2 version before this, and was loving it, played over 100 games on that.

The one problem i consitantly run into, no matter what version i play, there is just not enough extra base hits.

I dont know if the fielders react too fast, or if you just dont hit enough extra base hits in the gaps, but something doesnt feel right.

So far on the ps3, i have yet to hit more then one double, and if you look at the mlb, it would be almost impossable to repeat a performance like Schilling had giving up 7 doubles, and yet still wining the game.

I don't think in my 150 game's played on either system i have ever had more then 4 doubles in a game.

My power is at -5, and my contact at -9
The cpu power is at -6 and there contact is at -10

The cpu fielder reaction time is all the way left, at -10. I just dont feel this slider makes any difference.

If i raise power, then I start to hit too many homers. If i raise contact i hit too many singles. For example with these sliders on the ps2, on hall of fame, after 40 games, with the redsox I had the following lines,

Manny had 17 hr, and 50 rbi, batting 370
Ortix had 11 hr and 30 rbi, batting 403
Drew had 9 hr and 35 rbi, batting 405

The rest of my team was doing about right, with subpar averages, but you get the to middle of my lineup, and every game they would deliever.

My team hitting is around 325, witch is just too high for my liking.

I just cant find a good balance, where i hit less hr, and more doubles, while getting less singles to keep my team avg down.

        Any thoughts?

So basically a few changes, but minor. What do you think?

Overall the changes are subtle but let me go over my thought process on a few that you have changed.

-With regards to the pitching game and the meter you want the command slider and the movement slider going in opposite directions. The closer you bring those two sliders together, the more control you have which results in lower pitch counts. I have those originally set that way to generate high pitch counts up into the 90-100 range for starters.

-The reason for increasing the throwing strength was to combat against the speed of the baserunners. In general they are too fast and if you notice there is no slider to adjust for baserunning speed.

-Lowering the fielder speed for the human player was to allow for extra base hits and to balance the throwing strength.

-As far as cpu power you should keep it on the (-) side of the slider because in general the cpu has the advantage in this category at default.

          - Baserunning Aggr. is to stop the unrealistic amount of triples in the game from the cpu and also to stop them from running on plays where they should stay.

Those are just some key ones to keep in mind and the others you adjusted seem fine! If you have anymore Q's please ask, especially if I did not answer one!

Hey Nemesis, enjoying your sliders. I can't decide between HOF and All-Star, but it seems HOF is offering more of a challenge anymore, so I'll probably go that route for my season. My question is, I'm getting more extra base hits now that the AI fielder reaction is lowered, but should I also lower my fielder speed to provide more extra base hits for the CPU, or should I just leave it as is? I've given up 8 extra base hits (not including home runs) in 17 games so far.

You are correct about the cpu fielder reaction time slider, it is horrible! They should of had a fielder speed slider like the one for the human player. That would have solved a lot of problems, now you have to find the balance through the power and contact slider for extra hits and it is 10 times harder going that route.

I would put the contact slider at 0 and increase your power one increment at a time until you reach default. If that does not work increase contact by one and repeat the process with the power until you reach a happy medium. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for this. As of right now I am still messing with the power and contact but I am getting close! Keep me posted!

Fielder speed should be lower than default especially if you have throwing strength above default. In my adjusted set that I am going to post tomorrow, I have kept it at -2.

                Stay on HOF!

Thanks man, I'll keep it there then. I am moving my contact up to 1 or 2 though, I can't hit for anything with it at 0. I'm used to pitch speed at 4 though, so it could be I'm just adjusting to 10. I think it really does play a factor in how hard the balls are hit. It could be that I just use the Orioles though, LOL!!!

Thanks for putting out your slider set. Seems from the posts here they work very well. I printed out your "starting set" for the ps3 but will probably try a game on all-star default and wait 'til you release your new set tomorrow(?) to try HOF.

Curious if you are posting these ps3 sliders only here, or are you using the new upload feature so we can just d'load them into our game from sony's site?

Either way I'll be giving these a shot, and again thanks for sharing your efforts

I will definately will be posting a ps3 set tomorrow morning! No drastic changes but tweaks that I feel needed to be made.

I never thought about the upload feature, I will give it a shot but I will post here first for you guys.

Thanks for trying them and please give me any feedback or Q's that you have.

On a quick note I had a great game with the Yanks (me) and the Mets. The boxscore was:

                      Yanks 4 5 0
                      Mets 1 7 1

Wang went six innings with 86 pitches and Glavine was taken out out in the sixth with 98 pitches. Mariano got the save.

There were 3 homers in the game Abreu, Posada and Wright.

I'm getting pretty high pitch counts with these as well, and that couldn't make me happier. I've got guess pitch off, so I zone a lot at the plate and pick my spots. So far, I'm striking out a little too much on the fastballs since I'm trying to take a lot of pitches and react late ... but I'll get better at it.

I haven't had as many doubles as I'd like, especially from the CPU ... although the balls I hang get hit out a decent portion of the time which is fine by me.

I tried bumping contact up from -9 to 0, and i left power at -2.

My first 3 hits were singles right up the middle, and i finished the game with 14 hits, 13 singles and a homer.

Whenever I raise contact up near defualt level, I tend to hit more, but just more singles.

I should of noted before, i use gues pitch location, and type. However I only guess the type of pitch in fastball counts. I always guess location of either low and away or low an in. I usuly dont swing for a hit unless i guess right, or unless i have 2 strikes, and have to be more defense.

This is where I came up with lowering contact to -9 or -10, and raising power to get less hits overall, less singles, but more doubles. The problem as i said in my first post, is i hit too many homers when i do this.

I also have user plate coverage at +5, because I like to raise the cpu pitch speed to +5, to make it harder to swing and hit pitches I dont guess correctly.

                              Nemesis and others...
I played a great and fun game today with your sliders and a little tweak from myself. Nemesis, I would like for you to take a look at what I have come up with and some of my thoughts about the game I played. I'll use the same format, by using your sliders and then my changes (if any) in bold...

                              Human

                              Pitcher Fatigue:
                              -Starting: 0
-Relief: 0 (I have brought this back to zero, I am not convinced that bringing it into the - reduces stamina.)
                              Pitch movement: +7 / +2
                              Pitch Command: -8 / -10

Contact: -10 (If you are finding too many weakly hit balls for your taste put this slider at -8. Do the same for the cpu)
                              Power: +1 / 0
                              Plate Awareness: -3

                              Fielder Speed: -2 / 0

                              Hook: +3 / +2

                              Global

Pitch Speed: 0 (I like default but this you can adjust to your liking)
                              Umpire consistency: -4 / -2
                              Pitch Count: +5 / +10
                              Wind: +7 / +5

Okay first of all, I played as Texas against San Diego. The final score ended up in their favor 7-4. Hits were in their favor 12/9 as well. They had 5 doubles to my one. The problem is, I initially had their fielder reaction at -5. Once I changed it to -8 I saw a difference. I probably could have gotten another 1 or 2 doubles if I played the whole game at that setting. I know of one particular base hit the announcer said "and he'll get two out of this..." But the cpu fielder was on top of it like a hornet and stopped me at first base.

One of my first concerns was that I struck the cpu out 11 times and walked one batter. 11 seemed a little high honestly but I don't know if I played more games what would happen. Seemed as if many of the k's came on them chasing some pitches. Would increasing their plate discipline help out here? Maybe raising it 1 or 2 points? I think this might help them lay off some pitches out of the zone, thus reducing the k's yet increasing the walks slightly.

Finally, there were 3 homeruns hit in the game... one by me and two by them.
So overall I was limited to one double... they had 4 or so. They also had two triples, but honestly that was partially my stupidity in the field causing that. I struck them out a little too much, yet maybe didn't walk them enough.
And are you sure about the reliever fatigue? I think maybe it could be lowered a few points????
                              What do you think?

Your stats seemd good. My sliders(the hitting parts) are closer to yours actually then Nemesis.

I just played at game with the Mets vs the Cards, and lost 3-2. 7 hits for me, 6 for the computer, and Wright had a double, and a triple. I was happy with that.

As far as the K's go, if you look at the ps2 wording of "CPU Batter Plate Discipline" it is actually worded backwords form the ps3. The PS2 says moving it to the right will "increase the probability of the CPU batter swinging at borderline pitches." In the PS3, this same slider says "Shift this slider to the right to increase the skill of the CPU in taking borderline pitches."

So I moved my sliders over from the ps2 to the ps3, and I used to get k's like your last game, I had this slider at +4, now that im on the ps3, I am K'ing the computer less, and its still at +4. I may drop this to -4 and see if it brings me back in line with the results i was getting before on the ps2.
