Well, in the last game of the series against Pittsburgh it was Lowe vs. Snell, and I lost the game 5-4. Lowe gave up 3 runs in 6 innings of work but Rudy Seanez gave up 2 runs in an inning and lost me the game. This game was the classic example of how great a game this is, and I came to the conclusion that during each series I would raise the blocking rating for the CPU's starting catcher and then lower it after the series, I wish they had a slider for the CPU to curtail this but it would appear they only have it for the user. Again, this was a great game, I saw the varied results like I wanted, one game Schmidt give up 5 in 5, next Lowe gives up 3 in 6 but it really should have only been 1 if it wasnt for Ethier screwing up in the field. This is all with the con/pow at -7/+1 for the cpu, thanks again for the suggestions and advice, its looking much better so far, lets just hope that a better offensive team doesnt automatically lead to an unstoppable team.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Last update, until something pops up again that I cant fix myself, but I just finished another game using the -7/+3 and this one was in San Diego, their offense was putrid again but its not that good so Im not going to go overboard. I won the game 4-1 in 13 innings, the Padres only hit 6/45, in fact looking back thats horrible, but Benoit set down something like 18 in a row out of the pen so of course the numbers are going to really low. In those 13 innings I struck the cpu out 12 times and walked them twice, everything seems fine. I know some may look at how many hits SD had but when your starting guys like Sledge, Branyan, Robles, Enfield while Marcus Giles, Khalil Green are both injured there isnt much offense to be had, out of those 6 hits 4 of them were from Bard and Brian Giles, so the players who can hit are hitting so I cant complain there.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
It sounds like you are well on your way Pimping! Let me know how it goes when you come up against a team with some offense.
Also, I see you mentioned power at +3 did you mean +1, just curious?“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Thanks for the advice, Nemesis. I forgot to add that I'm using classic pitching, and for whatever reason, I have been unable to get the CPU to chase with the slider at +5, though with it at -1 I've been able to K about a batter an inning with good strikeout pitchers. That may change as I get better at mixing speeds and locations. Minus the tweaks I've made for classic, these sliders are lots of fun and make HOF a challenge. Thanks a lot!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
yea i am playing on the PS2,and right now i have my cpu plate dicipline slider at +3 from default which seems to work very well, mussina pitch 50 pitches through 4 innings and im playing the angels and the score is 3 to 1 angels, these r just test games im playing, and i also have the cpu hitting at contact -7 and power -3,i seem to like it there, but im gonna test out +2 for cpu plate dicipline and try -8 on contact and -2 for power for cpu to c how that goes, but i do like +3 on plate dicipline for cpu and -7 on contact and -3 on power for cpu, i have to decide which one i think fits for me, i'll keep u informed.
Thanks............Nasa“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

so as you can see with your orig sliders with no tweaks im getting a good varied scoring pattern and for those of you that arent seeing a great amount of doubles i hit six in the game i scored 12 runs.
I do use guess pitch and sit lower half of zone for any pitch in that zone and dont swing at anything out side of it, unless of course there are two strikes... i never thought i couuld or would be happy playing in HOF in this or any other game for that matter but i have to say that im very happy with teh results so far...."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Yes, I meant -7/+1 not +3, must have been in a hurry to type that. Still having fun, even if Im 39-19 right now, it still keeps me interested, and I have this gut feeling that once I play a team with any type of offense I will struggle a little more, we will see but excellent work on the sliders and equally impressive is the constant fine tunning and help you provide people like myself, who have zero clue how some of these sliders play off of each other.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Hey dude thanks for the sliders, a few questions:
1. Is page 1 the most recent update to the sliders?
2. Are the sliders made for ps2 or ps3?
and 3. if they're for ps3, what adjustments need to be made for ps2? (I play ps2)
Thanks!Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Stilts--see Pimping's post on page 38; it has the most recent version of Nemesis's sliders in the body of the text. These play great, and offer a nice range of options to adjust the game to your level of play. Enjoy!Comment

To make things clear I treat default as 0. Any tweak to the right will have a (+) in front of it and any tweak to the left will have a (-) in front of it.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
ok just swept the yankees in my season last two of june and the first of july. games two and three were the best of the series as i came back against Rivera in the ninth, hitting 2 homers back to back off him to take a lead that i would build on for the win..
game three i just played. and ONE hit them... three pitchers combined.. Harden, Embree, and Street. i ended up scoring two off of Wang and making him throw 103 pitches in his six innings of work (yes i work the count very well)
Harden is now 11-3, and street has 27 saves starting off July. my first 3 game win streak with your sliders.. great stuff.. ."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
I know I said I wouldnt update anymore but considering the CPU wasnt putting up much of a fight previously I figured I should update anyways. Just played game 2 of the series against SD and this one was a shootout, I won 10-5 but they went 17/40 and really got to Kazmir, Kazmir lasted 5 innings while giving up 4 runs, struck out 6 and walked 2, but he gave up 11 hits in those 6 innings thanks to bad control and leaving pitches over the plate. If you check it, Kazmir's whip for that one game alone would have been 2.60, which is horrible to say the least.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Hey nemsis, not to get this too far off topic but I wanted your take on something. Are you seeing a bunch of rediculous trades or are you playing with roster control on? I didnt turn it on and am under the understanding that with it on you can make any trade you want, the CPU wont even gauge whether or not it wants the deal, it will always just show that it does want the deal, which of course means I cant really make trades to imrpove my own team without constantly having to police myself.
On the other hand, with it off, Im seeing guys like Manny Ramirez, Carlos Lee, Chipper Jones, Paul LoDuca being traded for next to nothing. And then there are stars still sitting on the trading block like Youkilis, Hideki Matsui, Thome, Dye, Sheffield, Pudge, Polanco, Magglio, Carlos Guillen, Ichiro, Teixeira, Michael Young, Smoltz, Carlos Lee, Renteria, Andruw Jones, Uggla, Miguel Cabrera, Hanley Ramirez, Manny, Lidge, Chipper, Oswalt, Brandon Webb, Helton, Matt Holliday, Barry Bonds and Zito. Im at my end with these roster moves, its not even 60 games in for some of those teams and they are already selling off every single piece they could build around, not all of these are far-fetched but the Marlins shopping Hanley and Uggla while keeping Dontrelle? Colorado shopping their best player in Holliday for no apparent reason other then to piss of their fan base? I enjoy the game but if I have to restart because I should have started with the roster control turned on then Im done for this season, Ive played 59 games and have no desire to replay them at this point either. Just wondering what your take is and what you have seen at this point in your season.Comment
