I had my pitch speed down at -10, but now have it at 0. Weird thing is when you have it at -10, the difference between the speed of offspeed vs FBs is so dramatic, it actually makes you swing at more crap and strike out more. I really found this out after facing Roy Oswalt since he throws 94+ and has such slow offspeed curves and such. I just hope I can still pull fastballs. My joystick skills (and guitar playing) have suffered because of all the ortho surgeries I have done (its like carpentry sometimes).

I have a few questions when you have time.

What was the rationale for upping the Human timing window to +8? Very curious since it is a complete opposite from - to +

Why did you up the CPU pitch movement to +9? Was it to help draw more walks?

Why did you drop the CPU pitch control? More walks?

I saw you upped the CPU hit quality. Did you think the CPU needed more hits?

Also saw that you upped the Human pitch movement. Was that so the human would walk more batters?

    Thanks, Nemesis in advance.
The reason for the latest changes was that I really wanted to shake things up a little for the last half of the season. After a while the game had a certain style of play and I wanted to change it a little.

As far as the timing window is concerned, I really feel it does not have tremendous impact on the game. It was really to look for ways to increase hit variety type as opposed to make it easier or harder to make contact. My thought was if we make hit quality worse and adjust our available window to make contact it would result in different hit types. It works at times.

Cpu pitch movement was adjusted to make hitting more difficult for the human hitter. It could also lead to more balls thrown but I am up for any adjustment that slants the game against the human player.

The pitch control was to try and squeak out a few more balls which ultimately would lead to more walks unless you swung at them!

Cpu hit quality was increased to give them a helping hand.

Nice work Nemesis. Used your sliders for about 10 games really liking what I am seeing except for two issues. The CPU only attempted 2 steals in the those ten games and there was not a single error made by either me or the cpu. I got The Show a couple of days ago along with a PS3 and after playing 2k8(piece of crap by the way) the fielding and throwing seem way too easy. I really don't see how I could even make a throwing error.

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for all of the hard work you guys do to make this game even greater.

edit:I just saw the post on the previous page with the updated sliders. Any chance these will be available for download from sportsconnect?

          Again, Thanks!

That's funny, they are always stealing on me, but maybe that is because I forget to check them at first a lot.

I just want to be sure I'm playing as you intended...are you using the sliders from sportsconnect along with the latest in-game adjustments listed here in the thread?

Manual control of fielding, throwing, baserunning? Which pitching style?

              Thank You!

I had a 10 inning no hitter with these sliders today; with Oliver Perez.

Hey Nemesis. I just wanted to let you know that your sliders for this game are by far the best I have ever used in a sports game. With your sliders I am getting the most realistic games, stats, scores. Its awesome bro. I look foward to your slider set for MLB 09 and beyond. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! Glad I could help! I plan to do it again for 09 as well.

On a separate note, I have been away for a while but I am back. I have some pms and questions to reply to. I have not forgotten.

Question about pitching because I am not getting to many k's. I work the zone fairly well and mix up my pitches like a pro. So when you pitch and have the yellow line in between the light blue do you hit the yellow for more effective pitches or do you hit the top of the light blue for pitches inside or do you hit the back of the light blue, past the yellow line for pitches to break harder? Also, when you pitcher is tired or rattled and you lose the yellow line what is the best method pitching in order to regain the yellow line? Thanks, btw Im enjoying the sliders.

The yellow mark is the perfect release point for the pitcher. You can increase your pitch break by increasing pitcher velocity on the meter. If you release the pitch above the perfect release point your pitches will be higher and vise-versa.

As far as getting the perfect release point back you need to get a series of outs strung together. Swing and misses tend to get back individual pitch confidence. Even after that it takes a good inning or two for it to come back. It is all tied to pitcher confidence which tends to be a little too sensitive.

Just to give people an idea of how good these sliders are:
Current season with the Colorado Rockies where EVERY game is played, no siming:

                            4.60+ era (26th)
                            .262 team BA. (21st)
                            ? HRS (26th)
28-33 team record 4GB of Dodgers

Every game is extremly intense, if I screw up; I LOSE
Everything is turned off, pitch speed is -10 (0)
                            Excellent results!!!
Best sports game I have ever played, no joke
                            Thanks again Nem

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

I dont exactly remember which rosters I downloaded to use for my franchise. It was late May when I started this. Haven't been playing much since NCAA and Madden came out. I believe it was Knights roster edits with ALL minor leaguers. My rosters are for the 2008 season ( before trades) so my season roster looks like the teams did when the season started. Also a few quick notes: Nemesis says you have to adjust his sliders to your likings & abilities and he is EXACTLY correct! Few changes I had to do was power: power has to be where cpu is set to get realistic HR totals. Mine is set at +3 (thats where Nem had cpu when I started my franchise and they work great here). I wasnt getting good totals at default. My pitch speed is -10 or all the way down. Maybe I am not quick enough to pick up the pitch on Nems number but let me say that I lead the league in strikeouts (thats me striking out!) And this does not affect stolen bases! Finally I have the skill level at All Star. Some say this is even harder than HOF. You need to just play some games, tweak a few sliders that you see fit, play 10 games with the ones you decide to roll with (make sure your getting variety i.e 10-2, 5-4, 2-0) then start the franchise. Download a roster with full minors so you have all REAL players in your teams system. Hope this helps
