Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
One of the only things that irk me about this game, and I'm unsure whether or not it can be related to any slider setting, is that guys are sooooooo slow to throw to certain bases; particularly when a pitcher covers a bunt VERY early (hit hard right at him almost just off the mound) and tries to throw to 2nd only to PAUSEEEEEEEE, make a weak throw (SAFE) and by the time I try and throw back to 1st everyone is safe.
It's gotten to the point when even if it is DIRECTLY bunted to my P I wont even bother throwing anywhere but 1B to get at least one out. Frustrating because it cost me a game last time in the bottom of the 10th. This seems to be most problematic with bunting but has happened other places (groundball to 1B to start a DP).
It happens all the time with 2 outs too...You could be 10 feet from 2B but if you throw for the force out you're lucky if you get the out. The game wants you to only throw to 1B for some reason.
Anyway, I wanted to post here since the regular forum, well who knows what kind of response I would get. I know you guys are good players with good advice!

Wanted to mention I've been rocking these with the following decreases in HUMAN offense, and other various settings to increase the overall difficulty) and been getting very good results. Changes in red from last Nemesis set. With left hit stick, doing very well with extra base hits and occasional dingers. Using FULL MINORS roster set.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
I've been using these sliders since Opening Day on my Franchise and I'm currently at my 100th game. I'm 62-37 right now, and it's not really fun winning every game. I have my hit quality at -8 and power at -6, and I still am getting way too many hits. What do you suggest? I want to have more of a challenge.Chicago Cubs - Chicago Bears - Milwaukee Bucks

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Hey, I have been using these sliders for about 15 games now. I love them, but the one thing I notice is that I get cheap hits where the pitcher isn't covering 1st in time on balls to the first baseman. Anyone else noticed this? I would say I have gotten about 1 hit per game on routine groundballs to 1st. I am using Knight's rosters w/ all edits. ThanksComment

I noticed that in either my Full Minors minor league games or any of the Legend Roster games(in other words all the pitchers/players are "my players")....I RARELY see the pitcher no get to the bag. Now keep in mind...that it could also be SCEA's speed ratings.....because I also created the baserunners and the speed is not nearly as high as SCEA's ratings.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Nemesis I am curious about what you have seen with Hum Timing window at +8. I have tried it for 3 games now and am killing the ball of course I am playing the O's so it probably has more to do with the bad pitching than with the slider.BCS Express - TCU (yr 1 12-1)(yr 2 10-2)

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Hey Nemesis, As you may remember, I am a big fan of your MLB sliders. I love the way the CPU plays. I had to up my hitting sliders since I swing too much at crap. I had my pitch speed down at -10, but now have it at 0. Weird thing is when you have it at -10, the difference between the speed of offspeed vs FBs is so dramatic, it actually makes you swing at more crap and strike out more. I really found this out after facing Roy Oswalt since he throws 94+ and has such slow offspeed curves and such. I just hope I can still pull fastballs. My joystick skills (and guitar playing) have suffered because of all the ortho surgeries I have done (its like carpentry sometimes).
I have a few questions when you have time.
What was the rationale for upping the Human timing window to +8? Very curious since it is a complete opposite from - to +
Why did you up the CPU pitch movement to +9? Was it to help draw more walks?
Why did you drop the CPU pitch control? More walks?
I saw you upped the CPU hit quality. Did you think the CPU needed more hits?
Also saw that you upped the Human pitch movement. Was that so the human would walk more batters?
Thanks, Nemesis in advance.Comment
