The only pitcher confidence that can be turned off is the individual pitch type confidence. The actual pitcher confidence remains on.

Right, but doesnt the individual confidence ratings for each pitch affect the overall confidence of the pitcher?

          The results were still ridiculous:

          Reds 0/4/1
          Cards 15/22/2

          W - Looper - 9.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 4 SO
          L - Harang - 5.0 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 6 SO

This is starting to get concerning. I hope this game isn't broken.

Things I've noticed with any slider set:
          1. Relief pitchers suck. Any time I get an early hit off of a reliever I know I'm going to put up a crooked number.
          2. Walks are not as big of a problem as people make them out to be. I have little patience and I get a couple each game.
I do not understand all these high scoring games. Once in a while is okay, but not every time. The only time I see those box scores is when I play online. I had 6 home runs and 2 were grand slams! LOL.

07 was a lot more refined in some ways!

No, they seem to be on on two separate systems.

Oh alright. Thanks for the info I am just baffled as to why most people are experiencing lopsided scoring and such against the CPU on HOF level.

Nem, have you tried your sliders on All Star? At first I dismissed the whole All Star vs. HOF debate, but last night I played Boston at Baltimore on All Star and Baltimore lit me up for 8 runs in the first 4 innings.

Funny you ask, I developed a lot of these settings playing on all-star testing different things and then went exclusively to HOF. I am starting to feel that HOF may be too inconsistent this year to play on by some of these box scores. You would think we all dropped down to Rookie by some of those scores.

How did the testing go on All Star? Do you think you may try and make a slider set for All Star eventually or are you going to stick with HOF?

The lopsided scores are weird to me too, I don't have anything close to that. Could it be the games have different program code written on them?

That seems like a more logical explanation. All of my games are relatively close.

Yeah, it blows my mind how one game such as last years could be so competitive with the right settings as you all say and then this year it's complete opposite. I had the PS2 version last year and am still playing it, but I can't say I'm extremely pleased with my PS3 purchase right now. The only reason I'm keeping it is for the future Final Fantasy games. I don't understand how the SCEA team didn't notice the difficulty issues. It's a beautiful sight and hopefully something happens to make it the game it can be.

Pitch Speed has to be up higher I am telling you. If you can kill the CPU and +7 or higher then you deserve to win.

P.S. Don't take leads from the bases and then try to steal. I have already been caught stealing with Carlos Beltran and Endy Chavez in the game I am playing now. At least this will not make every stolen base attempt an automatic steal.
