    Thanks Nem...

One last question...how do you guys work around the walk-off HR glitch? Is that still present? Should I just sim any bottom of inning with guys on base that is the 9th inning and beyond?

Nemesis, could you walk me through a typical strikeout against the CPU? What do you throw? Where do you throw it? When do you throw it? I'm getting strikeouts, and didn't have much trouble before, but I still have some games (more than "some" I guess) where I only strike the AI out 2-4 times.

I'm getting a ton of walks finally but that extra millisecond I wait on a pitch makes it tricky to pull the ball. Man, when you get ahold of a curveball though...see ya!

I am using Knight's opening day rosters so perhaps this has something to do with it, but I am getting crushed by the AI while I pitch. I am last in HR's allowed and my ERA has been soaring; at least for my starters. I'm also last in K's while pitching. My relievers have actually done a nice job...my starters do well for about 3 innings and then get torched. What gives?

I am using classic pitching because I had thought that's what Nemesis recommeneded, however a few posts back I saw mentioning of using the new/meter pitching.

Could someone enlighten me? I'm FINALLY getting all kinds of hits, I'm actually 6th in doubles through about 20 games, and even have the league leader in walks! Now I just need to improve my pitching. I don't mind being hit around but I don't think I'm getting a fair shake here.

Is it the roster? Meter pitching? My approach to pitching? All 3? Thanks for the insight!

I would continue with the classic pitching. Overall, that is the way to go for 08. As far as getting K's, if your starters are successful for 3 innings and then run into trouble it sounds like you are getting predictable with your pitch sequence. I am sure you know you have to mix your speeds and location consistently for each at bat. You also have to not be afraid to throw out of the zone to get cpu batters chasing especially when you have 2 strikes on them. The cpu batters pick up on your pitching tendencies pretty quickly, they seem to focus on patterns and punish you. If you are giving up too many homers, then you are hanging around the zone too much!

Also, are you using the pitch analysis tool to see where you are succeeding and failing?

I rarely use the pitch analysis if at all. How often should I be referring to it? Each batter? Does the AI recall what you threw to a particular batter from one at bat to another?

Thanks for the help. I like the answers that have to deal with how I should play the game as apposed to giving into to easier sliders! This is an unreal game; well worth the purchase of a PS3 like I predicted when I bought mine January 2007! I originally bought my PS3 as my "baseball video gaming machine" lol.

It is up to you how often you want to use it but it is a great reference tool! You can break it down by team, batter etc. It can help you discover what your patterns were for a particular at bat especially the ones that get tattooed. I hope this helps!

The game is definitely worth the price of admission!

                  Nemesis or anyone else,

What is with my SP's never being fully rested after 5 days rest? Trust me, it's not like they've been pitching complete games! I have all of the financial stuff on AUTO...is it a simple case of investing more into endurance or one of the machines/rooms available that coordinate with that sort of thing? Travel?

I know there are issues with position players being tired too often, but I've never had this problem with SP's before and this is the first time I've used AUTO for things like this (too tedious for my taste).

I only play season so I do not deal with the Franchise stuff. When they enter the game, how is there stamina?

Can any one help me? I am getting a TON of hits. I average over 10 a game and I have nearly played a whole month worth of games. I use the Blue Jays so its not like I should be getting that many hits. Am I just too good?

                        Turn up the pitch speed.

Nemesis, I am a month into my franchise (mode) with the Tigers. I am currently dead last in the following categories and am wondering what I can/should adjust to help find a solution. I've been playing this game all year so "getting better" might not be effective as you might think.

                            HR's
                            HR's allowed
K's (striking out the AI...gotten better since we last talked)
                            BB's (earning them)
                            3B's
2B's (was towards the top...have petered out badly recently)

I'm still getting tons of hits, a common problem I know. Should I decrease pitch speed? I don't want to mess with the power settings because I know it may effect other things.
