New to the Show here and trying these sliders out. I was curious as to what pitching type most of you guys are using. I'm using meter, but it seems like the opposing teams just aren't hitting me around too much. I'm playing with the Reds and sure they have some decent pitching but not spectacular.

Is anybody else contemplating shifting the CPU's contact up a notch? I already bumped up their solid hits to 3.

I guess I could change the pitcher view to make it more difficult. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

Quick question for whoever is able to answer it: I am currently a month and a half into my franchise using these sliders. I play 1 game of each series, thus many game are simmed. Right now, the league leaders are off the charts. For example Adam Dunn has 18 home runs and its the middle of May, and he isn't far and away from the pack. My question is do the sliders affect how sim stats play out?

I use classic pitching on All Star and have good results. I used to play on HOF but after 20 games my ERA was around 6. My 4th and 5th starters were getting hammered each time out.

Good question.

The answer, largely, is no. Sorry, the sim engine is different than the in-game engine.

Pitcher stamina was included for simming this year, and injuries have been included in the sim engine for a while.

So, ONLY the pitcher stamina and Injury sliders factor in during sims. You may need to have a separate slider set with reliever stamina at default.

Thank you. That does make sense. So basically I am at the whim of what the computer decides for the sim games? It takes a bit of fun out of it when people are already in the mid teens for homeruns and its just mid-may, but I wlll just have to roll with it.

Right after I write this I play a game giving up 5 runs in 4 innings off of 5 hits w/ Homer Bailey. So, I will wait to bump up the CPU hitting.

One thing w/ baseball games is you really do need to play multiple games (at least 5) with the same slider set before making decisions to tweak. I've played maybe 6 user games in my season.

I had 30 team control option turned on which results in no random injuries taking place. Thank God I was only 3 games into the season!!! I will still be posting boxscores/stats/standings, etc in this thread but will be starting fresh

It's very important that when you start a franchise that you leave the option for 30 team control turned OFF and then youo select all 30 teams at the team select screen

Well today I finally decided to make the switch from 09 to 11 and gave these sliders a try and WOW!! I am very pleased with these sliders. Played about 3 games straight, went 1-2 but they were great games!! Thanks again for your work!!

So even though you have 30 team control off you still basically have 30 team control just by selecting every team?

pretty sure he meant you can roll with 30 team control, but cpu roster control must be off in order for injuries

Yeah, what you said.
It basically works the same only with CPU roster control off you get injuries.
I guess starting a season over wont be so bad since I've only played 5 games.

I would also advise that when simulating CPU games you have another slider set with injuries at 1. Other wise simulated games get a high amount of injuries with slider at 5

Load TNK/Psycho set. Play.
