Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***

It's interesting how people are having different results with hitting. Timing on All-Star has been great for me after a couple weeks into my franchise.

Anyways, in terms of the reliever stamina slider, was the change done to account for simmed games, Psycho? Was this slider not a problem for you in an actual game? I ask because, if this is indeed the case, wouldn't you be able to instead modify the slider each time before you sim and then bring it back to normal during an actual game? I feel like this slider is perfect at 0 during a game.

It was causing issues during played games Infinite from my experience, so its for both played and simmed.

With it on 0 the amount of times the CPU manager would bring in pitcher to throw only a handful of pitches or even one lol was getting out of hand.

The hook back to default should also help with this.

I always use just the x button to hit. Do others do this or choose contact and power swings ?

I rarely use power swing, if I have 2 strikes its contact all the way. Anything else I use normal swing.

What do you guys think of lowering cpu pitch speed? I just cant pick up the ball, im usually "very late" or "too late". I dont want to adjust this lower and nerf the game. Maybe lower this one click and lower contact as well?

              Guys,
This is probably going to be my last post in here until I return from vacation on May 1st. PsychoBulk will be manning the fort while I'm away. Try to get through these 10 days without going crazy on requests to change the sliders, etc.

Again - I leave you with this........if you dedicate a few games to get used to ZONE HITTING (USING THE LEFT ANALOG TO GO WITH THE PITCH AND sWING WITH THE X BUTTON) I think you will be please with the results. Don't use it for a few innings or even 1 game - dedicate some time to get accustomed to batting that way and the results and feel for it will come.

Sitck to the sliders in post #1 and don't get too high or low with what happens over a couple games. Sliders show their true form over stretches of 10 to 20 games.

Have fun guys and I'll catch up when I get back from the Caribbean, I'll be tanned and relaxed and ready to dive back in when I get home.

Just keep practicing. Adjust your pace, not the gameplay sliders. Trust me. I was too early when I first used these because I was used default speed (5)...stick with it and practice.

I promise you will get that down.

If you are simming with Reliever Stamina at 0, it's no surprise that CPU relievers would ENTER your game exhausted.

0,1,2...whichever's your flavor. When simming, it needs to stay at default unless you want to see some middle relief mis-management.

Alright guys 10 games in for me with these so far. I have used zone and do not move the cursor when batting on all-star. I am getting on avg 6 hits a game. I have only hit 1 homerun so far also. Average game has me getting 2-3 runs per which all are very low averages. Pitching I am getting okay k's and bb's, but I do not give up more than 2-3 runs per game either. My k % is around 59-62% which is fine, but after giving up 8-10 hit per game, CPU never seems to make me pay for these. They have only hit 2 HR's thru 10 games also.

I've only been playing this game for a little over week so I don't want to jump to any conclusions but I'm having a really tough time hitting. It might only be that I'm not used to analog hitting yet but I'm hitting under .200 on All-Star level and getting a ton of weak ground balls (this is my RTTS shortstop).

I went to the practice cage and first did the Timing Training. Got 15 successes. Then I went to Contact Training. After 6 attempts, the best I could do was 5 successes. What do you think is "normal" for the Contact Training drill? I was using Ichiro so I figured he would hit a lot of line drives...not so much.

Is anyone else having a problem with Analog on All-Star? Does it suffer from a similar problem I saw with Timing hitting? Should I raise Solid Hits slider up to 3?

Start using the stick to aim - zone without moving the stick is timing.....you need to start using the aim stick and you will get better, trust me

10 games into my Cubs franchise with these sliders and I am getting great results. I am currently 5-5 I will post some stats tomorrow for my team and players. I will update at the end of my first month as well.

The only change to the sliders that I made was cpu strike 2, control 4, consist 6 and lower pitch speed to 2.
