Still loving these sliders I am now 10-7 with my Cubs. The only change that I have made since my last post is human solid hits to 3. I have raised my team avg to .243. I will post an update of my stats with the sliders when I finish April.

Due to the wind being "fixed" in the new patch...

- Wind influence reduction based on extensive tests versus real life stats and community feedback

...having it at 3 was meaning all games were very calm, it therefore makes sense to go back to default on wind.

With that tweak in mind as the only change, here is the latest set...

With solid hits being raised to 3 do you think it makes that big of a difference? Im sitting at 3-3 in 6 games so far but my team batting average is .199 which is of course dead last in the league. I finished my most recent game with a total of 3 hits but had plenty of pitches to hit that my guys just popped up, hit weak grounders or missed entirely so Im hoping to help with this and the solid hits slider sounds like the best remedy for that. I noticed you altered some other sliders so if you dont mind letting me know what youre seeing either here or through PM it would be much appreciated.

Solid Hits is not an incredibly sensitive slider. I have mine set to default, with run speed at 4, and have a hard time getting above .230. Are you timing only? If so, I'd raise it if you're convinced you've played enough to see that this just isn't a cold streak.

I was batting around .220 8-10 games in when I made the switch. I don't know if it has really made much of a difference, or if my hitters just got hot. I also switched from timing to zone at that same time.

My other changes were cpu pitch control 4 consist 6 and strikes 2. That's just what I always roll with on those settings and they always give me good results. Right now through 17 games I have walked 51 times.
I think your team is just off to a cold start. Stick with it I am sure by the end of April that average will be up. This game just like real Baseball is a game of slumps that can be totally frustrating and hot streaks that make you think its to easy. In the end the numbers all seem to work out though.

well after trying out seemingly every slider set for Veteran difficulty level i finally said forget it. i had started and restarted games and complete franchises again and again.

I'm currently getting ready to start my Weekend series against the Mariners. I played the final game against Boston using these sliders and had, well a pretty good game.

Clay Buckholz vs Gio Gonzalez. both pitchers lasted 7 innings. Gio wen tout on a 14 in a row set down pace. i did lose the game however 3-2 as they scored off my reliever Zeigler in the eighth inning.

offensively (i use 1/6 guess pitch) i couldn't get anything at all going. the only offense i could muster was a 2-run home run to tie up the game.

I felt that the sliders were good, i have found out a little secret when it comes to my starting pitchers however. once your pitchers get to around 50% energy is when you will start to really start to watch them.

pitch counts were good for the most part. i did walk a few hitters in the game. i think i did get walked at least once. should have been more but i have a really bad habit of pressing hard when i have 2-strikes on me. so i end up swinging at balls out of the zone.

the one thing i have to keep reminding myself of when i do that is that it happens just as much to the real life players. i still want to break or rather snap my controller in half when it happens but i just tell myself that they do it too.

looking forward to going forward with these, hopefully i have finally found a home. i don't know if i can try to jump to another set before throwing in the towel and giving up.

For such a long post, you didn't really provide any information. What was wrong with all the other sets you used? What are the issues you are experiencing, that are frustrating you so much?

I sure hope so because I feel myself falling right into the same problems I have every year with this game, the CPU cant score and I cant hit so every damn game turns into these 2-1, 3-2, 2-0 type games and those cant hold my interest long enough to finish a season. Played another game since the post, batting average dropped to .190 after going 9/55 as the game went 16 innings and I ended up losing by all too familar score of 3-2, extremely irritating to say the least. You have pitch speed at default? Im about to start lowering it as Im late on everything to the point that I have to basically look away all the time as I cant turn on anything inside to save my life. Im gonna give it some more time but if this keeps up then Im ditching these sliders and just running default and letting the chips fall where they may.

You know Chef once I switched to zone from analog I am late on almost everything too.
Feels like it should be the opposite but oddly it's not.

Analog Hitting takes longer to execute, so you can expect this to be the case. I used to always play with pitch speed turned down 1 point when I played with Analog.

Analog I was early on everything, zone I'm late.
I need a setting called zonalog and I'll be fine.

Same as it was for me if you read some previous posts...these sliders with Timing are brutally hard, on Zone its a totally different ball game and much more realistic.

I use Zone with no PCI movement and all my extra base hits are back where they should be.

For such a long post, you didn't really provide any information. What was wrong with all the other sets you used? What are the issues you are experiencing, that are frustrating you so much?

well first of all either there is way too much offense on both sides or just one side. then there is the issue of pitch counts being way too low for user. as in having a starting pitcher in the 6-7th inning with less than 50 pitches.

my pitching system is for the most part good, like i said as long as i remember to check my energy im good. offensively is where i struggle, most of it MY fault as i explained my 2-strike issues.

i guess im still expecting to be able to play on default on any level and compete. same as i did with 08.

ok just quit another game... i cant do it anymore.. i just cant... i cant do the non exsistant offense... no hitting is driving me nuts... i give up!!!!

No, thats the point, i do not touch the L-Stick, the PCI covers most of the zone anyway, and if a CPU pitcher paints the corners on me and i miss, too good, fairplay, good pitching.
