Ok that's what I was thinking... Also do you make good contact with balls that are in the strike zone but that are up and in or away and low in or away? And how is the contact with balls that are out of the strike zone? How are you HR totals and batting average looking like? The reason I'm asking all this stuff is because I recently took your advice and made the switch to Zone... and honestly I'm glad I did, sure I've only played 2 games with Zone but I'm liking what I am seeing...

Quick question for you Psycho, do you only swing using X or do you use the contact or power swing when needed?

Majority of time its X, but use contact swing on 2 strike counts with weaker hitters who have less plate coverage...power swing very rarely, now and again with a big bopper in a hitters count.

Psycho a few things for you... Do you make good contact with balls that are in the strike zone but that are up and in or away and low in or away? And how is the contact with balls that are out of the strike zone? Are you able to hit HRs on balls that are outside of the PCI circle but still in the strike zone? How are you HR totals and batting average looking like? The reason I'm asking all this stuff is because I recently took your advice and made the switch to Zone... and honestly I'm glad I did, sure I've only played 2 games with Zone but I'm liking what I am seeing...

I kinda mentioned this in another thread but to those that were using timing and moved to zone did you attempt to raise the solid hits slider while on timing before moving to zone? If so, how high did you get it? Ive had a few people say that raising the solid hits slider to 4-5 will allow timing to operate more effectively but having said that Im not sure there is a fix for the PCI being down and in on a 2-0 fastball down the middle of the plate either so Im rather hesitant to even go back to timing at this point. I know 1 game doesnt give much feedback but I hit .286 and scored 7 runs in my first game using zone without moving the PCI, in 10 games prior I hadnt scored more then 2 runs in 9/10 of those games so there was definitely a clear difference in the way the game played. Any feedback is welcome.

Cant explain the random PCI movement, perhaps player ratings? Whatever the case may be these sliders simply arent geared for timing hitting.

Nice job in your last game. Im going to give zone a go again and not move the PCI & see what I get.

Yeah, just started a game and am 4/6 with 2 runs already so either my team is hot or the switch to zone is really opening up the hitting game for me. Are you using the sliders exactly as they have them? I ask because Im using them with the few adjustments that JoeC mentioned a few days ago as he lowered CPU Pitch Control to 4 and CPU Strike Frequency to 2.

EDIT- Went back to these sliders completely minus pitch speed being lowered as the moment I put pitch control at 4 the CPU started throwing more balls then strikes and the two guys doing it were Lincecum and Cain.

I finally tried this and what a difference it made.
It's kind of like you're using timing but while the player's ratings come into play there's also a little more room for user error (of which I have plenty).
Saw some nice hit variety too.
I sliced an opposite field ground rule double right by the Pesky Pole in Fenway.
It also makes for an easier time judging pitches so I was able to draw 3 walks.
I lost the game 8-4 as Boston to Seattle.
I thought it was going to be an easy game for me as I had their starter well over 50 pitches in the second inning.
I had a 2-0 lead heading into the top of the 4th when Beckett had a meltdown. Leadoff double followed by 3 walks forced in a run, got a foul pop-out for the first out and gave up a grand slam to Jack Cust. Olivo's solo homer gave them a 6 run inning.
I made it 6-4 in the 7th on RBI singles by Crawford and Gonzalez.
Jenks came in for the 8th and couldn't get anybody out. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits before Bard came in to get out of trouble.
I did nothing in the 8th and 9th and lost 8-4.

Seems every time I try and find a different set of sliders I always end up coming back to these.
Not that other sliders sets are bad it's just these, with me finally realizing that not moving of the left stick really works, fit my skill perfectly.

What have you seen with these adjustments? Im afraid this may make the Cpu pitcher too wild and throw too many balls.

Thats the batting camera I use as well. I probably should have mentioned that I turned pitch speed down to 1 as apparently Im just way too slow at hitting fastballs even when Im sitting on them.

Catcher 9 is mine as well. I used Offset 6 for a while, but I get bored and switch cameras a lot.

I edited my post but control doesnt equal out to more wild pitches, thats the consistency slider I believe. The problem with control being lower is the pitcher hangs a few extra pitches but more importantly they really struggle to throw strikes consistently as both Cain and Lincecum were throwing far more balls then strikes in my games.

My newest issue seems to be with power, I know people were complaining about too much power but playing as the Dodgers its already tough enough to hit it out in Dodger Stadium so is anyone else having a power outage? In 13 games Ive hit 3 HR's, since lowering the power slider to 4 Ive had 0 HR's, in 10 games mind you, but Ive somehow managed to bang shots off the wall or have them land at the warning track and I cant help but think these might sneak out if I had power back at default. My only gripe is lack of power and my inability to strike the CPU out but the latter might be my own doing.
