Great sliders to TNK and all involved. At times my hitting can be pretty horrific, I will take the blame for that. One thing I have noticed is that I pick off the computer regularly. Is there any sliders that would change my pickoff ability? I see one for the computer, but not one for human. Any advice? I actually need to cutdown on the cpu baserunners but this just doesnt seem fair. Thanks

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
Game #4 of The Season
The Red Sox head into Cleveland to begin a 3 game set with the Indians as Josh Beckett makes his first start of the season. David Ortiz continued his red hot start to the season by crushing a hanger from Josh Tomlin to CF for his 5th already on the season to give the Sox the early 1-0 lead, all 5 of Ortiz HR's have been solo homers. The Indians picked up a run on an RBI double by Carlos Santana and the game was tied 1-1 after 4 innings. Josh Tomlin was forced to leave the game in the 5th inning due to injury. Josh Beckett was cruising until the 6th when Orlando Cabrera took him deep for a 2-run HR to give Cleveland a 3-1 lead. The Indians called on Chris Perez to try and close it out in the 9th inning and he struck out Carl Crawford to start the inning. Dustin Pedroia was up next and he singled to RF to bring up Adrian Gonzalez as the tying run. Gonzalez turned on an 0-2 fastball and crushed it 428 feet into the RF stands to tie the game 3-3. The Indians went quietly in the bottom of the 9th and the game was headed to extra innings. Jacoby Ellsbury put Boston ahead 4-3 in the top of the 10th inning with an RBI single after Jed Lowrie tripled high off the wall in CF just out of the reach of a leaping Grady Sizemore. The Indians tied the game off Jonathan Papelbon in the bottom of the 10th after Choo singled and Travis Hafner drove him in with a gap double to RF and the game continued on to the 11th inning. Cleveland burned through their entire bullpen and had to turn to Fausto Carmona in the 14th inning, Carmona is scheduled to pitch game #3 of this series. The game finally ended in the 15th when Orlando Cabrera took Alfredo Aceves deep for his 2nd HR of the game to give the Indians the 6-4 victory in 15 innings. The Red Sox fall to 1 and 3 on the season and there is panic in Red Sox Nation.

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Man, Im using this sliders and they are very good.
Until today...
Chisox vs. TB... 20 HRs in total!!!!! yeah man, 20!! 11 homeruns tampa, 9 HR sox...
So lame, that used to happen with vanilla sliders, but with this sliders seems that the problem is still there.
Is there any way to prevent this HR fest?, is really lame to play this way because all the realism is gone.
Thanks.Comment

could have been just one of those games man...i have been using these slidders for over a month now and the most i have had total in a game was 4 and its been 50/50 for cpu/user controlled teams...most times its the extra base hits that drive in the runs for meComment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Edit: I've tried zone hitting and I just can't do 2 things at once I guess. When I'm concentrating on moving the PCI to where the pitcher is pitching, I tend to swing at bad pitches. I'm considering using analog hitting. For the people who use analog, what kind of results are you getting?MLB: St. Louis Cardinals

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
I've played probably 15-20 exhibition games with these sliders. The ONLY difference between what I use and what TNK uses is that I use timing hitting, whereas he uses zone hitting. I just absolutely cannot get any offense going at all. I have also seen WAY too many weak pop ups and dribblers and will very very rarely hit anything solidly. I really like the way these sliders play other than my lack of offense and I'm not exactly sure what to tweak. I don't want to tweak too much, but if anyone has some tips I'd appreciate it. I've already already tried lowering pitch speed and that didn't help. I've also tried upping HUM timing...no dice. I've tried upping solid hits...didn't help. I'm just stuck. Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks.

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
You definitely need to increase Solid Hits if you are using timing hitting imo, you could lower Timing to compensate, if you like. For the PCI thing, try different camera angles. Also try raising pitch speed, I find that with a lower pitch speed I hesitate and often times confuse myself, having time to guess and overthink things, and I end up swinging at garbage. With a higher pitch speed you only have time to react to what you see, and it might cut down on bad swings, if this is the issue for you.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Maybe I should mess with the contact or timing slider rather than solid hits?
I still need to play more games to gather more data, but I'm leaning towards bumping it up to 3 for both human and CPU. And maybe if I wait on the roster with pitch edits, making the game more difficult (less 4 seamers) 3 will be the perfect setting. Wait and see I guess.Last edited by merg311; 04-16-2011, 05:36 PM.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
I bumped human solid hits up one click, after 18 games, im 10-8 with the WhiteSox. Im batting .234 as a team and I have 6 guys with the "iceberg" notation signaling they are cold. Solid hits @ 2 is just too low for me. Ive had stretches of 8-9 weak groundball outs in a row.
Great slider set nonetheless, just need to tweak for my skill level.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Well, turned down power to 4 and it seems that the HR problem is better this way, in the second game against Tampa (with chisox) "only" 9 HRs this time, 4 for tampa 5 for me...
Allstar diff...
Thanks!!Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Instead of bumping up solid hits I'm going to bump up contact to 6 for both human and the computer, keep it fair, and see how things go from there. Contact seems it would have more of an effect on hitting as a whole.Comment
