Stop using Timing and Switch to Zone - TRUST ME

I don't use the Power Swing barely ever - maybe once a game if I am in a hitters count with a slugger and I'm looking to go yard.

I use the "x" button for regular swing 99% of the time

I do use the "circle" button for contact swings sometimes if I'm down 0-2 or 1-2 in the count and I'm trying to stay alive and make sure I put the ball in play.....usually at times when I just can't afford a strike out

so when you use ZONE hitting do you just swing or do you move the cursor? Last year a lot of people used zone but just swung.

ZONE HITTING = Swing with the "X" while aiming with the left joystick

Do you leave the PCI in the middle or do you try to follow the pitch ? Im skeptical to use zone because my natural reflex will be to swing at everything.

I had my best offensive game today with these sliders.

8 runs on 14 hits with the Cubs.

1 HR
3 2B
2 BB

The hit variety was really nice too. Castro pulled a double down the line. Byrd hit two doubles, one in each gap and I waited on a hanging curve for my homerun with Soriano.

I also had a blooper, a couple seeing-eye choppers and an infield single in the hole.

Before analog hitting I used zone and never touched the left joystick. I screwed myself on meatballs too often and if you use the contact button and limit swinging at garbage you'll get hits that aren't perfectly in the PCI.

I think this set is playing great, but I think home runs are running a little high on both sides. Reds v Indians: 7 home runs total (4 for me 3 for them). 10 hits a piece. Wind blowing out to center 5 mph. I know this is very possible, but I've been seeing a lot of my runs scored from home runs. I'm not concerned so much with CPU homeruns as this is the one of the only games i've played in about 20 games where they have had more than 2, but it seems like I am consistently scoring most of my runs from home runs. I prob avg 3 a game and it's not like I am tearing the cover off the ball; maybe avg 8-10 hits a game. I've been using zone. I am primarily using power swings in hitter's counts and contact swings in defensive situations. To be honest, I did not even know X was a "normal" swing until reading the posts above. Any thoughts?

You go with the pitch.....swing button while aiming to the zone where the pitch is

You need to learn to be patient and not swing at evrything, regardless of the hitting interface you are using

Its because Psycho tuned the sliders last year I think so that you used Zone hitting, but played with them like it was timing. As in never moved the PCI.

Psycho uses timing he mentioned it somewhere in the first few pages.
