What is the Batting Camera of choice for you guys?

    I'm torn between:

    A) Catcher
    B) Catcher Classic
    C) Customer Camera

I'm using the new default catcher cam for hitting. I can actually read pitches more with this camera than the classic catcher camera. I've never been so patient in any Show game than I have been with this one. It's awesome.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

My only problem seems to be that changeups thrown anywhere over the middle or down are hit straight into the ground, i cant get a decent at all against a changeup and this is with good timing and stride (I use analog), it will show the PCI right on the ball but it will always be weak contact.

Is this cuz of the solid hits being lowered? This is it at 4.

Maybe I should try a power swing?

Here is a picture from my IPhone of the custom camera I created and I am using for both BATING and PITCHING

I based it off of the CATCHER CLASSIC camera and just raised and tweaked the angle and zoom a little bit. I am seeing the ball great from this view. I recommend trying to replicate it and give it a shot.

TNK, how many home runs are you seeing in your games lately? It's almost non-existant for me in mine. I'd say in the past 6-7 games I've played, I've probably only seen three home runs total between both teams.

Any way we could get a description of some sort on why certain sliders are being lowered?

BOSTON RED SOX (ME) @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX (CPU)

This game was played with the latest tweaks which are in post #1 of the thread

Both teams left base runners in scoring position in the first inning. Buchholz and Floyd were matching each other until the 4th inning when Boston strung some hits together and picked up a couple runs. Adrian Gonzalez went deep for 2-run HR in the 5th inning to extend the Sox lead to 4-0. Buchholz settled into a groove and the game would go to the 7th inning with Boston leading 4-0. The White Sox finally got to Buchholz in the 7th on a 2-run HR by Dayan Viciedo to cut the lead to 4-2. Franklin morales came on and gave up a double to Alejandro De Aza and then Boston brought in Matt Albers who got Alexei Ramirez to ground out to end the inning. Mark Melancon pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 8th and the game would head to the 9th with Boston ahead by a score of 4-2. Andrew Bailey would come on for the bottom of the 9th looking to record the save and he would retire the side in order to close it out.

Adrian Gonzalez was 3 for 4 with a HR and 2 RBI

Clay Buchholz only struck out 2 batters but pitched a solid 6.2 innings to earn the victory.

Human and SPU solid hits at 3? I had a rough time seeing hits with me or the cpu at 4? I am using 5 right now and it is very realistic, I feel 3 will be extremely low hitting games on a daily basis

Solid Hits reduced to 3 so that we get more choppers, bloopers, flares, etc. I was seeing too many balls hit on the screws.....every ground out doesn't need to be smoked at someone and I was seeing too many line drives to the outfielders. I was pleased with the increased variety of balls in play with the slider at 3 for now.

I am seeing plenty of HR - sometimes 1 or 2 in a game, sometimes 4 or 5 HR....variety is good.

I decreased steal frequency and steal ability because stealing bases was appearing to be too easy.

That slider is not about whether or not you get hits....the slider is for increasing the variety of balls that are hit....ecreasing it creates more slow rollers, flares, bloops, choppers. There are too many hard hit balls and line drives at 5.

That was I was referring to. Let me rephrase, while I had it set to 4 I was seeing way too many pop ups and ground to where it was a little unrealistic at times

You see more contact in real MLB games that are ground balls, choppers, pop ups than you do balls that are hit on the screws and laced at people.

                          Trust me on that one

Offensively - the key is to be better at swing selection. If you get your pitch and get a good wswing - you will make solid contact.

i think something that should be tweaked is human and cpu reliever stamina...there's no way relievers should be able to go 3-4 innings at a time...any thoughts?

With it set to 3 I had a HR and multiple doubles. The CPU had a HR and multiple extra base hits.

Again.....good swings on good pitches will get solid contact.

With the slider set to 5 - you see 90% of the base hits absolutely roped whether on the ground or line drives.

With the slider lowered- you will see more hits that are blooped, flared, etc.....which is fantastic

Yes - that is an area that I plan to address.

I don't want to be making 10 changes at a time.....making good sliders is a process. That's why these are preliminary and we are testing.

Trust me, by the time Opening Day and the OSFM Full Minors rosters roll around....we will have these sliders tuned as close to perfect as we can get them. But I want to make calculated decisions on the changes as we move along.
