Me too. Happened in my first game. A routine pop-up by Michael Cuddyer to Dan Uggla to end an inning. They gave Uggla an error.

If that's the case.....that will most likely be patched by the developers.....not a slider issue

I guarantee you that will get fixed at some point, nothing we can really do about that

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

I have been playing a season with Washington and using these over the weekend. I found that I have been just smashing the ball. If it was not a homerun the. It was a laser beam to somebody. Everything just hit hard.

I made a pretty drastic change and dropped both CPU and user solid hits to two. The results have been a wide range of hits, including bloops, majestic gappers, liners, choppers etc... Feels so much better, however not a hr in the last four games, and only getting about 7-8 hits a game. Maybe increase contact or power a notch? I am pretty confident with the solid hits slider. Even at three it felt a little arcadish.

Anybody else tried this, willing to try it, or have any other thoughts on the laser shots?

Yeah....typically if you drop SOLID HITS by more than a click or two then you need to compensate by increasing POWER.

Keep testing and giving feedback......I was already considering dropping SOLID HITS to maybe 3 and seeing how it goes.

            Thanks

Boston Red Sox (ME) @ Los Angeles Angels (CPU)

Dan Haren and Josh Beckett went toe to toe on the mound in this game. The Angels got back to back doubles in the bottom of the 1st from Pujols and Hunter to take a 1-0 lead. Both pitchers were in a groove and the Red Sox didn't get their 1st hit of the game until the 5th inning. LA made it 2-0 in the 6th inning on a RBI single by Callaspo. Haren took a 1 hitter into the 7th inning but Adrian Gonzalez unloaded on a pitch and crushed a solo HR to CF to get the Sox on the scoreboard and make it a 2-1 game. The Red Sox would get Haren out of the game with 2 outs in the 7th after a Youkilis double and LA would call on Rich Thompson out of the pen and Thompson got Ryan Sweeney to fly out to end the inning. Franklin Morales would relieve Beckett to begin the bottom of the 7th and the Angels would get 3 straight singles but Peter Bourjos was gunned down at the plate by Ryan Sweeney to keep it a 2-1 game and bring up Pujols with 2 men on and one out. Boston would bring Mark Melancon in from the pen to face Pujols and Pujols delivered an RBI single to make it 3-1. Melancon would get Hunter to ground into an inning ending double play to end the 7th. The Red Sox got the tying run on base with 1 out against Latroy Hawkins in the top of the 8th for Carl Crawford who lined out to CF and that would bring up Dustin Pedroia who grounded out to end the inning and let Hawkins off the hook. Alberto Callaspo doubled in a run to make it 4-1 after 8 innings and the Angels would bring in their closer Jordan Walden for teh top of the 9th. kevin Youkilis added a sac fly but Walden was able to close it out for the save as the Angels win 4-2.

Played another game this morning with the sliders before the recent CPU pitching changes. Different story than the homerless 5-2 victory last night over Tampa.

                  Bos (me) @ NYY

3rd inning was so unexpected. Gonzalez solo HR. Youkilis single. Ortiz 2 run HR. Cody Ross single. Saltalamacchia 2 run HR. I couldn't believe what I was doing to Sabathia.

Then bottom of 3rd comes up. I've got Bucholz on the mound. Texeria homers deep! Then I think it was Cano that hit a 2 run HR a minute or two later.

5 HRs in one inning after maybe that many total in the first 6 games I played combined.

But that inning turned out to be all the offense I was going to get. Sabathia started striking me out left and right. I think I ended up striking out 15 times. He went 8 innings, and after that 3rd inning I only got 2 more hits.

They, however, were just pounding the ball all over the park. I was throwing to many strikes.

Anyways, that 5-0 lead, turned to that 5-3 lead. Game ended with me losing 12-5.

But on the good side, sliders/gameplay felt good still!!! I just pitched a horrible game, and my eye at the plate was not as good as needed.

I'll apply CPU pitching changes to my next game and continue on testing.

I noticed more balls on the 1st pitch......Haren was locked in although I got into a lot of hitters counts and laced a few balls that were right at guys in the outfield.

Any change to the sliders needs to be tested for multiple games - you can't make any valid observations on one game. You need to test pitching changes by facing Ace pitchers, #5 guys, etc for multiple games.

Any hitting changes needs testing for multiple games because you could see an offensie explosion one game and then a dominant pitching performance the next game. That's the beauty of The Show though - but you need multiple games to really get a feel for how your slider adjustments really play out.

I just wanna let everyone know that Royale is going to work exclusively with me on these sliders and we will release the official sliders together in a collaborative effort

I did the same thing last year with PsychoBulk who was a legend in the slider community and it worked out really well

Royale was working on a set of "Veteran Level" sliders and he has some solid ideas.....he is going to scrap that set and the two of us will work together on this set going forward to hopefully produce one fantastic set of sliders. I'm a big believer in working together instead of "against each other" - there are going to be tons of Slider Sets put out there....some good, some not so good.....so if we have two of us with solid sets, it makes sense to team up and produce a top notch set

We have some ideas we are kicking around and will hopefully have a few slight adjustments in the next couple days as we get closer to putting out our first official release in the Slider Vault.

We plan to have these sliders finalized and locked in by Opening Day to go along with the release of the OSFM Full Minors rosters so everyone can begin their franchises and not look back

definitely. can't judge anything on one game. but a good first impression is always good.

Thank you for the warm welcome, TNK. As he said, we will be collaborating on this "infamous" set of sliders. First off, I wanted to let you guys know that I'm gonna be at this 100% so we can get the perfect set for opening day. The game plays well out of the box, A LOT better than most sports games but together with our knowledge and prowess we will give you guys, the dedicated community the best set of sliders to play The Show. If you guys could use the table generator that's at the top of the first post, that would be fantastic. It helps us get a standard for viewing and analyzing stats.

ALSO IF I MAY ASK. Please, under pitching, click "Pitcher Stats">Pitches-Strikes and add it like so. ex: 123 pitches-72%. This helps us greatly when it comes to the CPU pitching sliders. Don't be up there swinging at everything though, we need to be patient hitters at the dish!

I want to thank TNK for the opportunity. It means a lot to part of such a prestigious partnership. I look forward to working with everyone!

I've dropped wind down to 2 this year. Still see way to many swirling pops up and crazy wind numbers in stadiums are never really windy.

This was game started rough for Beckett, giving up a 2-run shot to Teixiera in the first inning. After that he settled down and pitched pretty well. Got out of a few jams and sat down a few batters in key situations. After I got the bats going against C.C. in the 3rd and 4th and put some runs on the board, Beckett shut the door until he ran out of gas at the end of the 6th. This is when the game got away from me. Aceves came in relief and gave up 3 runs to tie the game at sixes. He got out of the jam and was replaced by Morales in a pressure situation in the 8th. Instead of harnessing the situation and enjoying it, I shot myself in the foot by rushing and not taking my time. I gave up 2 home runs which proved to be the game.

I couldn't get the bats going late in the game vs Chamberlain partially because he is a freak and partially because I once again was trying to finish and get to bed! I wish I would have been more into it because it was a classic Red Sox Yankees matchup. I decided not to use the meter because im not a fan of it but pulse works very well. Strikes weren't easy to throw if I wasnt concentrating. Walks were a little high but the ump was a stingy bastard! This was also the first time I used timing hitting. I've been using Pure Analog since day 1. This was an easy change for me because the computer strides for you. I won't lie, when I put those rally's together early in the game I was about to dismiss the timing hitting all-together but stuck it out and I actually liked it. The confidence of the pitcher really comes into play. C.C. was throwing well until I put a couple of ducks on the pond, took my time, waited for my pitches and was taking advantage in hitters counts. The Yankees strike% is partially tarnished because of the human factor (me) at the end. during C.C.'s six innings he threw 72% strikes which beats the sliders out of the box.

The sliders felt good the first time through. I think I'm going to stick with the pulse pitching and timing hitting for now. Possibly switching to Pure Analog hitting. I still have to play many more games before I start thinking about any changes, I have some notes written down so i'll take those into consideration as I play more. Definitely a good set as it stands. Good work
