By the way right away i think the fielding arm strength needs adjusted.
I was 5 for 5 stealing bases in my game and none of them were even close.
The cathers throws were all very weak. Also the cpu just didnt hit the ball sharply at all they whole game. I think they hit 2 line drives the whole game.

You gotta play a 4 or 5 game sample before recommending adjustments.....you need to play those games and look at the results as a whole.

Did not finish a complete game, but got through 7 innings.

Pitching was good for me. I started on pulse, but switched to meter. Walked a few, struck out a bunch, only gave up 3 hits. The 2 runs came because I walked some folks.

Batting sucked, but only because I gotta get back into the groove of not swinging at bad pitches. I drew a few walks. Struck out way too much. My only run was scored off an Adrian Gonzalez HR, which was only a HR because it hit the short right field foul pole at Fenway, lol. My other hit was a Cody Ross grounder up the middle. I did start making more/better contact as the game went on.

Strike/Walk ratio for CPU seemed ok. Would have been a lot better if I had not swung at SO MANY bad pitches. I think CC was at like 20 BBs and 60 Strikes by the time I stopped playing after the 7th. Could've easily been 30/50 or so if I was more patient at the plate.

Overall, I feel the settings are probably fine, but I just need to get back into playing The Show. Took a year off from baseball games last year. My hitting timing is all out of whack.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

Played Orioles-Mets spring training game last night. The game flow was pretty good. I had 6 hits and the Mets had 7 and none of those hits were extra base hits on either side. I did hit a couple of balls to the warning track that took off the bat well but died at the fence. I will have to play a few more games before I could say much about the sliders. I was able to work several 3-2 counts but was unable to walk. I am a very patient hitter and will walk 2 to 3 times a game. I even watch all the cuts which helps me to be more patient hitting and pitching. I struck out 8 times and 5 of those were called third strikes, which 3 of them were borderline zone but that was realistic to me. I still thought maybe the outfielders were able to get to some balls that maybe they shouldn't have, but will have to play more. I only struck out 2 and that didn't come until the 7th inning, but they did chase a slider in the dirt which was nice and a fastball in on the other one. I walked 2 which I thought was good, sometimes I just don't give in...This game is so good out of the box that I don't think there will be many adjustments this year at all..Thanks TNK for the sliders will continue to try them out...

            Hey TNK,
Its great you are doing sliders this year. If not for your set last year and the feedback i wouldve lost it. Game seems better than ever out of the box. My question is All-Star difficulty. Im using timing hitting and meter pitching but i have everything on veteran. Im doing that for my first ten games to shake off the rust. However im finding that games are very competitive as im 4-2 with the Mets. 3-0 sweep of Atlanta and 1-2 vs Washington. My worry is the Mets are ranked 28th overall on the game and maybe i have it too easy but it feels very comfortable. Im seeing alot of variation...blowout in my favor, in their favor, close games in my favor, etc. Should i make the jump to all star now or wait and see how competitive the season is. Id rather win a playoff berth fighting at the end rather than lock it up too early. Just wondering. Keep doing what you are doing...you make an already awesome game even better every year.

Game was very efficient and although there was a lack of walks, the counts were close each time. Might slow down the amount of foul balls. I threw 65% strikes with the Blue Jays and the Angels threw 69%. Overall a good game.

TNK - Looking forwrad to another set this season.

I was wondering if you had any advice on how I should go about adjusting the sliders to tailor to my settings.

                  Pitching on AS
                  Pulse Pitching

                  Batting on AS
Pure Anolog w/o the batter's eye

Will your sliders ONLY work for Timing Hitting and Meter Pitching? I assume I should make my own adjustments after a couple of test games but any advice will be much appreciated. Loving the game this year, but I am getting pounded by the CPU...and the rust has been off for a while as I've been playing 11 all year up until 12's release.

There were a lot of strikeouts this game although I am learning not to chase as many as I used to out of the strike zone. The only thing I changed was starting pitcher stamina because having it at 5, I saw many pitches have complete games. I bumped it down to 3 and the pitches seem to get tired after 5-7 innings (I chase a few balls outside the strike zone that I shouldn't throughout the game so this compensates for that, since the AI has a better eye then I do takings strikes and balls. My starters tend to throw 20-25 pitches more then theirs most of the time so it makes up for it)

As far as the scoring it was low. I had a grand slam from Texiera and that was it, although I did stand a few base runners on base so it wasn't all that bad. They had 4 hits but Pineda was in the zone but I will see how next game goes when Hughes starts and see how many hits he gives up lol

So far I like them though

Play it out with Pulse and if your results are OK - then great

Thanks, I am going to try these out later this afternoon. With the sliders at default, I hot the ball hard but the defense tracks it down so fast. I either score with homeruns or not at all.

TNK, I have been using these sliders for around 10 games with the Marlins. Pitching wise I have zero complaints, everything has been good and the CPU strike-ball ratio has been okay for me. Hanley draws at least 2 walks a game so I am good with that. But I have way to many lineouts. I counted over 50 AB's what happened, and I got 6 hits, 7 flyouts, 7 strikeouts, 11 groundouts, but 19 lineouts. By lineouts, I mean I'm getting "superb" contact and "perfect" timing, but the ball lines directly to one of the infielders. Do you think bumping up contact and solid hits one notch could remedy this?

I think we need to be careful with starters stamina. I played a game last night and Burnett had a 2-0 lead, but by the 7th inning he had no stamina at 84 pitches. The coach kept him in since he was throwing a 2 hitter at the time. If anything, I think the CPU hook meter may be the one that needs to be looked at, although I was glad they left Burnett in the game to try and finish it. I hit back to back singles in the 9th with 2 out and then they pulled him. Then I lost.
