MLB 12 CPU VS CPU Sliders

***Newly Updated 3-25-12 Final Set Until Patch****

Guys we CPU vs CPU players are a small fraternity. But we want realism and rather be Billy Beane than Albert Pujols. I am looking for feedback on this new set of sliders. Any would be appreciated. I must say I think these are right on now!

Realisitic MLB 2012 CPU VS CPU

I am a stickler for realism. Adjust these for realistic gameplay and stats for CPU vs CPU games which is my preferred way of play. I want to feel like I am watching a game on TV. Here you go.

Leave Hitting and Pitching on All Star. Put pitcher API in game options on. (Others will tell you this doesn't matter. In trying the different settings I believe this matters quite a bit. Just my opinion.)

Contact: 5 (good where it is...lowering makes offense too weak)
    Power: 5
    Timing: 5
Foul Frequency: 4 (Seems to place fouls just right)
    Solid Hits: 5
    Starter Stamina: 6
    Reliever Stamina: 5
    Pitcher Control: 5
    Pitcher Consistency: 5
    Strike Frequency: 5
    Manager Hook: 5
Pickoffs: 7 (putting this too high will make pitcher throw too many pickoffs to 2nd base)
Pitch Speed: 10 (For aesthetics. Fun too see your closer come into the 9th throwing gas)
Fielding Errors: 7 (seems to place fielding error to perfect amount)
Throwing Errors: 5 (good as is. Raising creates way too many throwing errors.)
Fielder Run Speed: 4 (will enable just the right amount of extra base hits.)
    Fielder Reaction: 5
    Fielder Arm Strength: 5
    BR Speed: 5
    BR Steal Ability: 4
BR Steal Frequency: 8 ( will let the good basestealers steal often enough with the other players that can steal but not as fast sneak one in here and there)
    Wind: 4
    Injury Frequency: 7

Try out and enjoy. (I think these are just about perfect....but feedback is appreciated!)
    Going....going....gone....

Ha, I didn't see this thread so i'll add this here to. The pitch speed slider has ZERO effect on whether a batter will swing and miss. It's there purely for presentation purposes. Supposedly on 10 it's like watching real baseball and the reaction times are that of MLB players.

Now I dunno if that's actually true but I thought I remember reading that. Playing with it on 10 is just absurd lol but watching a cpu v cpu game with it at 10 is quite like watching real baseball.

Yes what you wrote is correct. For CPU vs. CPU I'd just set Pitch Speed slider to 10, so that it plays like a broadcast and also shorten the game time a tiny bit.

I hear you. I am going to update this to 10 for asthetics. But I did notice when I had this lower swinging strikes were less. Thanks for input pal. I am also going to move contact to 6 while lowering timing to zero also.

The in-game description of slider says Pitch Speed doesn't affect anything other than how fast the pitch visually appears to HUM, and has been confirmed by a dev.

I'm gonna try these, glad I'm not the only CPU/CPU player. Glad to see this thread pop up so quickly.

Great. Let me know how you like it. I am still trying to decide if works best with contac 5 and timing 1 or contact 6 and timing 0.

Good deal. Yeah lowering the hitter timing will alleviate too many HR's

If the slider isn't listed do you leave it at default? For example solid hits, do you leave that at default?

Care to start your own thread? You know, a general CPU slider discussion thread like last year.

I actually found that the sliders being left where they are and with fielder speed down 1 click with pitch speed at 10 has been great so far.

Now I have only done a few games with this but the games have been very well done.

I'll also add this was in spring training games using the "manage game" feature.
