V 1.0 of the Hybrid set is up.

I also made one change to the Manager Hook slider and turned it down one click to 4.

For those dominating with their pitching, for an added challenge turn off your ball marker. Leave the vibration on though so you have some idea if your placing your aim in or out of the zone.

Any changes to the original set are also expressed in () so you know what the original value was. So for Manager Hook you will see a (-1) next to the number 4.

Simply put it means the original value was 5.

    Enjoy!

      Re: Armor & Swords/Marino's - MLB The Show 13 Timed/Classic Sim Sliders

Thank you! I'm still going to try hard to stick it out on All-Star for a little while longer because on Veteran the Tigers and Nationals in our league are 21-4 with team slugging over .600 and they each have a guy hitting in the .480-.500+ range with 1.400+ OPS 25 games in so something had to be done to tone that crap down. We all agreed to try the All-Star settings for this week but if we find it to be too difficult we will definitely be trying out the hybrid Veteran tweaks.

I actually just finished that series with the Marlins and had two very fun games, still on All-Star. Game 2 was a pitcher's duel all the way. Lilly vs Wade LeBlanc, who has a nasty ultra slow changeup which is easily the pitch I am the worst at hitting. He's dropping that thing on me left and right and I just can't time it. Finally in the bottom of the 6th I worked a walk with Tony Gwynn, Jr and the next batter, Mark Ellis, crushes a mistake up in the zone into the left-center gap. Gwynn, being the rabbit that he is, flies around the bases and scores. Added another run in the 8th on another Gwynn, Jr. walk, a pinch hit single, another clutch hit by Ellis but hit too hard to score Gwynn, and a sac fly to right by Jerry Hairston, Jr. Kenley Jansen pitched the 9th for the save.

      Game 2
      FLA 0 5 0
      LAD 2 4 0

Game 3 was also a nail biter. 2-2 in the 12th. More hits in this game than previous games but was leaving a lot of guys on base. Bases loaded, 2 outs in the top of the 12th and I get a comebacker to the mound, but I apparently held the button too long because the pitcher wouldn't make the throw to first. I thought I had turned throw canceling off but I apparently had not. I will not make that mistake again.

So I go to the bottom of the 12th down 3-2 against Florida's closer. Left my reliever in to hit because my bullpen was already gassed from previous games and if I did manage to tie it up they weren't going to be able to do much anyway. I know I should have done a double switch before bringing him in in the top but I thought about it too late so I was stuck. I needed Guerrier to keep going just in case the game continued. He struck out but then I worked a walk with Skip Schumaker. Mark Ellis (unlikely hero yet again) ripped his 2nd double of the game down the left field line but into the stands for a ground rule double so Schu had to hold at 3rd. Adrian Gonzalez at bat, whiffs badly on an offspeed pitch well out of the zone to start the at-bat. Not good. But they decide to put him on for the force at any base and to get a righty-righty matchup with Kemp. Kemp fouls off a couple pitches and on a full count takes pitch #8 for a walk to tie the game (should have been a walkoff walk if not for the E1 thanks to throw canceling). Andre Ethier steps to the plate with 1 out and the bases loaded and rips a first pitch curveball to right field for a game-winning single! Awesome game. Oh and I drew 7 walks in this game which is easily the most for me so far this year.

      Game 3 (12 innings)
      FLA 3 10 0
      LAD 4 11 1

Your hybred sliders are great had my best game lost 2 to 1 in the tenth
        Very realistic stats
        Yanks 1 run 7 hits 3 walks
        Brewers 2 runs 10 hits. 3 walks
        Yanks threw 147 pitches
        Brewers 132
        Yanks threw 64% strikes
        Brewers 71%

          Re: Armor & Swords/Marino's - MLB The Show 13 Timed/Classic Sim Sliders

I play on All-Star level and Classic Pitch. I never hit and I only pitch. Here are my essential sliders:

          Human Control -- 2

          Human Consistency -- 8

          Cpu Contact -- 4

          Cpu Power -- 6

          Cpu Timing -- 5

          Cpu Foul Frequency -- 4

          Cpu Solid Hits -- 2

I think I am wrong to have Cpu Foul Frequency (FF) at 4. The rest of the stats look good. However, with the cpu FF at 4, I am seeing almost twice as many Cpu missed swings as I am seeing Cpu fouled balls.

In real MLB, we see twice as many foul balls as swings-and-misses. Is Psycho-bulk correct that cpu FF at 6 is the best setting. I realize it depends on who the pitcher is and who is the batter is, but at 4, the stats are very skewed.

A bit to many strike-outs. I do like that the Cpu chases more pitches this year. I just need help getting the results closer to reality.

          Thanks.

Updated hum pitcher control and consistency (clicked down each by one to 4)

This is for both All-Star and Hybrid.

Reason is to make pitching a little more challenging, plus issue more walks to the cpu, as CPU chases more pitches out of the zone this year.

I uploaded both 1.0 ans 1.2 Hybrid slider sets to the vault.

                Enjoy.

And keep in mind this is a base set. Please tweak to your liking. Nothing is written in stone. These are the settings "I" use. It does not mean they are universal. No slider set is ever universal.

Thanks for making these type of sliders again this year. I enjoyed them last year.

What do you suggest I do in this situation though...

I've played about 15 games with the regular sliders. I've only won a single game, and have hit a total of three home runs. I know it's not a lot of games, but I just couldn't hit much at all, and that portion of the game just didn't feel right.

I've also played a few innings on multiple occasions with the hybrid set, but I just hit absolutely everything and usually stop playing after I score an easy 10 runs, every time.

                  Suggestions?

Without gathering more information from your exact experiences, I tend to always recommend people start with the Pitch Speed slider first before looking into difficulty levels/hitting-pitching slider changes.

I'm not Armor, but I've known him long enough to know that he pretty much feels the same way.

I don't quite think it's pitch speed, my timing has been nearly always good or perfect, with the occasional just early/late.

But how is your pitch recognition? Are you swinging at alot of balls out of the zone? Adjusting pitch speed can account for many things other than timing. Just throwing that out there, as a possibility.

Pitch speed plays a hug factor in hitting. If you are struggling, move down a notch or two, go to BP, and give it a whirl.

Been using these sliders for a few weeks now and really am enjoying them. I get a nice variation of games usually when I hit (I haven't been pitching as I'm trying to find a sweet spot for hitting before I start messing with that). I average about 5 runs a game over a sample size of 20 games - problem is that I also average 11 hits. I usually get something like 3-4 extra base hits a game, average 1.3 HR a game, but my run total just seems a bit low.

I'm new to sliders so I am not sure what I'd adjust - if anything - to possibly make my hit count a bit lower but keep runs around the same.

This year it seems the CPU chases more pitches out of the zone. Which I love. With that it looks like the final tweak will be to CPU foul frequency. It is a matter of moving It up to 4 or 5.
