There is no eta. Only the word "days". They can't really commit as people would have a cow when they're not out. It should be any day now though."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

The guys at work have a saying, "you'll have 100% of what I have done when I get it done.""The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: 2014 OSFM HYBRID UPDATE - V3
Can someone tell me what the heck "Hybrid" roster means? And how is it different than SBFM roster, that I thought everyone was also waiting on? Or.... Can somebody tell me if there are any rosters, that haven't had the ratings tampered with, unless it is a created player that was missing or is in the minors? Thanks a bunch!XBOX Gamertag: KCHuskey

Re: 2014 OSFM HYBRID UPDATE - V3
The closest thing to rosters "not tampered with" would be OSFM v2 or v3 with the difference being that v3 does have MLB pitchers reflecting a more accurate arsenal than PitchFX (what SCEA uses) does.
SBFM uses a different grading scale and STEAMER projections to determine ratings. STEAMER is good, so are the faces/likeness, and the fielding and speed ratings came out good. I think the hitting and pitching calcs did not translate well and draftees will have a hard time making an impact.
These use ZiPS ratings which are also good and a better calculator for ratings. They also have the rest of what SBFM does. Hope that mostly answers your questions. Oh, hybrid means they used OSFM v3 as a base but rerates MLB players which OSFM does not touch.Last edited by rjackson; 08-19-2014, 05:48 PM.Comment

Cool. Thanks. I get that now. I did have the OSFM Pitch Edit roster. I guess another question I'd have is.... If all of the ratings are being adjusted, what happens after I download and start my franchise, play thru season one, and get to season two and beyond? Are all of the draft picks, or rookies coming in going to have ratings out of wack? I hope you understand what I'm getting at.XBOX Gamertag: KCHuskey

Re: 2014 OSFM HYBRID UPDATE - V3
Honestly, if it was me I would just wait with putting out the hybrid roster until the season is over. Then put out an end of season roster with every team back to full strength and ratings at what they should be at seasons end. This way you could either start your 2014 franchise with the end of season rosters or sim through 2014 and pick right up in the offseason and go from there. Honestly the end of the season is only 5 more weeks away. Do you guys plan on putting out and end of season hybrid roster?? ThanksComment

I really do appreciate what you guys are doing, going to start an awesome franchise with my friends as soon as it's done. I know it's been said, but you guys do this with no expectation of return, no donations, just the love of game. Can't speak highly enough of how professional and great to deal with you guys are. Thanks a bunch."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Ha, no chance. Hope this is a joke! It's gonna take more than 28 innings for a mediocre P who was in AAA all year, is currently sporting an ridiculously unsustainable .190 BABIP against, and is projected to have a 4.6 ERA the rest of the way to get any ratings love at all.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Nobody has played through enough seasons to give you a definite answer to that question. You always have the option of editing generated rookies if you want it a certain way. It really depends on your threshhold for investing work into editing rosters.

Although I'd take that bet on the era the rest of the way!!meaning not a chance it will be that high the rest of the season.

Re: 2014 OSFM HYBRID UPDATE - V3
If it is at all possible, can you please upload it to a file sharing service? I don't have online on my PS3 and this is my first baseball game. I only play with my brother, but I'd like to have updated rosters. Thanks for your help.Comment
