Ayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! Look at Donaldson cracking the top 25! Great work. I'm curious as to what's the recommended sliders to go along with this set? Still Willard's custom one?

Now, I'm not sure if that might have had an affect, though?

Sliders are mainly a factor in played games. There are only a couple of sliders that affect simmed stats, so the take home is to use whatever sliders you feel you're getting a solid game with. The core hitting and pitching sliders are thought to have no impact on simmed stats. The only sliders that I have heard people claim to impact simmed stats are things like manager hook, injuries, and possibly pitcher stamina. I have yet to see any data to support this for stamina, but many people seem to be convinced.

I have my own slider thread and use my own sliders. Willard has also offered up a set that was posted in the previous Hybrid roster thread. Feel free to use whatever set you feel most comfortable with.

The main thing is that you need to try out different slider sets to see what fits your skill level best.

As I said above, this may be true for a couple of oddball sliders (manager hook/injuries), but is untrue by and large. Basically, if you max out all hitting, pitching, or baserunning sliders or zero them out, you get data cut from the same cloth. The rumor that's been running rampant is just a rumor and there's no data I've seen that suggests otherwise. Moreover, I believe we have it on authority from SCEA developers that sim stats should not be affected by in-game sliders. If anyone can prove me wrong, I challenge them to do so. I have actual data on the matter.

So, without further ado, here's the Top 25 OVR in the upcoming release...

            Code:
            1. Clayton Kershaw, 99 (would probably be 106 if the scale went up that high)
            2. Troy Tulowitzki, 99
            3. Mike Trout, 98
            4. Robinson Cano, 98
            5. Giancarlo Stanton, 97
            6. Miguel Cabrera, 97
            7. Carlos Gonzalez, 97
            8. Felix Hernandez, 96
            9. Adrian Beltre, 95
            10. Jose Bautista, 95
            11. Jose Abreu, 94
            12. Chris Sale, 94

            18. Carlos Gomez, 93
            19. Buster Posey, 92
            20. Adam Wainwright, 92

            24. Edwin Encarnacion, 92
            25. Nolan Arenado, 91
As an added treat, here is a comparison of real life, average MLB team stats aggregated over 2013 and 2014 compared with the simmed team stats using the upcoming roster...

            Code:
Real Life vs Roster AVG	OBP	SLG	Runs	ERA	2B	HR	BB	K
            REAL LIFE '13 and '14 0.251	0.316	0.389	650	3.75	272	146	466	1224

            ROSTER (AVG of 5 sims) 0.251	0.313	0.389	647	3.67	271	146	476	1204
If you want realism, we are within 2% on our worst stats.

What are your Sim Sliders that you suggest for CPU vs CPU ?

I set Hum/Cpu Starter Stamina to 1 -- Reliever Sta. to 4 -- Manager Hook to 6 -- And Injury to 8 (10 is most realistic) and it help the offense a bit and cuts down a lot on Complete Games and Shut-outs.

The sliders I use are linked in a post just above. I use them for all games. There is no separate set. No need.

As an aside, let's try not to turn this into a slider thread. It's great you guys have interest, and we all want great stats, but if we could keep it to the roster and comments about the roster, I'm sure the mods (and me) would be happy.

                  Re: 2014 OSFM HYBRID UPDATE - V3

Hey guys quick update. A combination of real life (how dare it get in the way of something so important!) and us actually wanting to add in the eventual waiver trade deadline transactions looks to push the ETA back from Friday to Sunday, the last day of August. That's the problem with the "E" in ETA, lol. But, the roster is basically done and just some very minor things (minor even to a very OCD bunch of editors) to finish off before releasing. And, no, we aren't releasing one version on Friday for people who "don't care about the minor stuff" and then another version on Sunday, so please sit tight everyone.

If anything changes we'll let you know. It will be WELL worth the wait. The list of features/upgrades and quality of this roster is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. In a good way. Probably, no definitely, the best I've ever seen in a baseball game--granted I haven't played OOTP before, but still. I have no plans to get a football or basketball game due to this roster.

Does anyone have any clue how these rosters will differ from the SBFM rosters? Just wondering....I know the other set has pitch edits, equipment edits and of course faces, ratings etc. I've been following that set and thread and now I see this set. A previous post said these may be the deepest rosters ever, which brought me to the question I asked. If anyone knows fill me in.

Its about the sources used for making it. These use zips, different than sbfm. And a few posts back had the sim numbers, they were unbelievably close.

As far as I know. Look at the other thread for the original hybrid roster, that has a better description. I think there's a link somewhere close to here, let me see.

For the new guys - here is a basic rundown of what this roster includes

Fully re-rated using ZiPs U and ZiPs preseason stats. Also prospects re-rated when ZIPs was not available using Oliver projections

All created and I mean ALL faces reviewed and corrected as well as name spellings and audio names corrected. No more Byron Broxton

                                Pitch Edits done and updates

Jersey numbers fixed to 40 man

All transactions updated even lineups done for minor league teams

This is just a small list off either updates or add ons as well as original content in the last Hybrid release
