Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
Yeah I figured we would wait until the game drops so we know what exact brands are in and go from there. I will ALWAYS post pictures like this instead of doing everything in text (unless I can't find a picture of course) I feel it's easier this way. I think once the game drops I'll start an equipment thread. Obviously some if not most minor leaguers are going to be hard to find equipment for, in some cases so the more people to post info the better.
I'll still post pictures in here as I go just so we have a note of it.

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
As of right now, all players on 40-man rosters have their contract info entered into the spreadsheet. HOWEVER, Cot's contracts does not have salary info for many pre-arb players (~3/4 of them). Unless that info becomes public in the next few weeks, we will just have to make up standard salaries for pre-arb players with 0-1, 1-2, and 2-3 years service time.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
Hey guys I just wanted to post this to maybe help editors on this project a easier way to figure out potentials. It is just something I have used in the past when I did the Astros for OSFM 2012-2013.
This can give you a general idea how rate or give potentials to other players not listed on these or in the organization etc...
Always keep this in mind when using these.
QUICK PRIMER ON GRADE MEANINGS
Grade A prospects are the elite. In theory, they have a good chance of becoming stars or superstars. Theoretically, most Grade A prospects develop into stars or at least major league regulars, if injuries or other problems don’t intervene. Note that is a major "if" in some cases.
Grade B prospects have a good chance to enjoy successful careers. Some will develop into stars, some will not. Most end up spending several years in the majors, at the very least in a marginal role.
Grade C prospects are the most common type. These are guys who have something positive going for them, but who may have a question mark or three, or who are just too far away from the majors to get an accurate feel for. A few Grade C guys, especially at the lower levels, do develop into stars. Many end up as role players or bench guys. Some don’t make it at all.
Finally, keep in mind that all grades are shorthand. You have to read the full comment in the book for the full analysis about a player, the letter grade only tells you so much.A Grade C prospect in rookie ball could end up being very impressive, while a Grade C prospect in Triple-A is likely just a future role player.Last edited by Houston; 03-15-2015, 11:32 PM.Youtube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

This is similar to my other chart but a good explanation as well

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
Any general guidance on pitcher's fielding ratings for prospects? I think several years ago we had knocked them all way down because they caught too many grounders up the middle, but I think that's been fixed in the game. Should reaction and fielding be mostly 30s-40s? Arms in the 50s?Comment

I think last year we agreed to leave most pitchers hitting and fielding at default useless it was way off base

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
I have played the other baseball game and many others and now nothing but the show. From my experience that if you lower the reaction or fielding to low your going to have issues at the plate when there's a lot of bunting going on. It is annoying sometimes for the pitcher to be overly aggressive and snag every ball etc but a lot of these things we seen previously should be better in 15 with all the new animations and things cleaned up.Youtube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
I think I have a pretty strong formula for plate discipline, its something like 97% correlation: DISC = (668*BB%)+9
Good enough for what we are doing, especially after hearing the ratings aren't 100% objective in the last stream.
Here's one for vision, its not as strong (93%) but still good enough: VIS = (-269*K%)+115
I'm working on power atm, I think contact looks ok but I can check it out as well.Comment

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)
For equipment what is the general preference going to be?
Make sure all players have licensed equipment or only players that use the brands in game? I personally don't want to see the generic equipment anymore if I can help it so if a player is using a bat that isn't in the game, I'd rather just see one of the brand logos in the game on the bat instead of the generic MLB The Show logo.Comment

Let's carry this convo on in the CAP Creation thread I started so we can keep info centralized for all creators.
Great topic though that needs discussion
