Here's a question that's probably been answered. Will contracts be corrected? Some are pretty erroneous.

You'd have to ask someone else about OSFM, but my impression is that some will and some won't, with the focus being on having contract lengths accurate.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
With contracts while I would love to have accurate contracts myself - the sim engine wasn't designed for those values, neither were team budgets. Maybe once the Hybrid is complete, someone would be willing to make a set with accurate contracts for 30 team control and ignore budget off. That is the only way to make the numbers work.

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Different strokes for different folks. I'd surmise that you are the outlier here with what I've bolded above. I'd be willing to bet money (of course we won't...TOS) that a majority of show players don't finish a single season of their franchise let alone a couple of decades. Remember that OS is for the hardest of the hardcore, so there likely are others like you, but many people downloading the rosters from the vault are not even OS members.
It's true that OVR ratings tend to be lower in the Hybrid than standard OSFM, but I haven't observed the same issues you have with freshly drafted players coming in with starter ratings. Maybe there are a handful of guys like that from each draft, but it's barely noticeable. Sometimes there are a few 60 OVRs with very modest POT (70s/low 80s), but this doesn't really have a massive impact as I think is being implied here (as in lots of MLB starters are displaced by 1st year professionals).
Nonetheless I love to conversation here so let me ask... Regarding the re-rates, since you guys get the players, for the most part, to resemble their true stats and mostly their OVR's are being lowered yet most have a higher potential, in future years do you see guys that continue to grow, even though in reality they have probably reached their peak, put up numbers that aren't realistic because they have grown to be better players because of their lowered OVR's and their yet to be reached potential? The reason I ask is 'cause I haven't tested this but it seems likely that this would be the case. I mean mathematically it would only make sense for this to happen. I think it would be absolutely unavoidable at a pure logic standpoint.
Please be unbiased in your response and if anyone else would like to chime in on this that would be great!T.K.Comment

Again, don't assume I am the outlier 'cause there is no fact to base it on. I'd even argue that if OS members are hardcore then they would be the ones that actually would play a 20 season franchise. I'd also argue that if they didn't finish a single season why would they even bother with the OSFM roster? If anything guys like me would get he most enjoyment out of this roster.

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Since I'm not a Hybrid guy because of the variance between your ratings and the drafted rookies that are introduced into the game, I'm kind of disappointed that the OSFM isn't going to be exported on to the Monday update. I have a feeling after V1 release the OSFM will be pushed aside and not corrected but hopefully if I find time in between work I can do something for the community in this regard. Might take a while though lol...
I will continue to update OSFM after release, including equipment updates. Hybrid roster is awesome; I just can't get past the low OVR ratings, despite the crazy amount of statistical realism. The OSFM ratings give a good blend of realism and franchise future proof. I'll probably stick to Hybrid in Play Now modes or if I want to just play one season playing every game.

Aww come on really it stops here? That's really disappointing. What I meant by unbiased was truthful. If you can be truthful than you can answer my question. I'm not challenging you in any way shape or form. The beauty of this forum is the constructive conversation we can have. This is way better than the stupid questions and the *** kissing we generally see on these pages. This is truly disappointing... Every day this forum pushes me further and further away. I need to find a place enriched with intellectualism...T.K.Comment

The problem is this thread is filled with crap and I'm trying to bring in some good conversation and debate. What's wrong with that? If there's a problem on that front than I think this forum needs some serious addressing. It feels like too many teenagers and undereducated adults are taking up good real estate around here...T.K.Comment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
If it makes anybody feel better I usually start a franchise with the osfm rosters have all my players get hurt play a bunch of games go 20 under .500 then start a new one with the hybrid convincing myself its the ratings and it will help my yankees and then its rinse and repeat so I will equally blame both rosters for my Bronx downfall instead of their AAA Minor league Starting LineupComment

You call others childish and regardless of who's right or wrong you are taking a thread aimed at the progess of the current direction of the thread regardless of if you agree or disagree with it and just completely derailing it which is in and of itself the definition of acting childish.
You've been a fantastic contributor on this site. You need to realize when it's time to stand down from your stance even if you're right.
Again, I don't know what caused the strife and if you want to start a thread with a new project feel free to do so but I cannot allow you to derail this thread with off topic conversation that's based with your disagreement with them.
This is not a discussion. The conversation stops here. Like I said, feel free to take it to PM's.Comment

All your mixed messages and back handed slaps aside I can see the ax you have to grind and I don't even know what happened between you guys.

PM's are useful, for sure, but I'd rather the possibility of other OS members the chance to see these answers so we can eliminate the chance of duplicate questions. I really don't think im derailing the thread as I'm talking about the project at hand. You are a moderator though and I will respect your request. Although I'd love to get feedback from waittillnextyear nonetheless because it's something I've wondered about for a couple years and something that may possibly sway me into the direction of using the Hyrbid if I'm proven wrong...T.K.Comment

Honestly kehlis you can look at my history. I have no prior disagreements with him whatsoever. In fact he's been really helpful regarding response and conversation. That's actually why I continued this conversation with him in the first place. Since he's a major contributor to the Hybrid project he'd be able to answer something that's been on my mind for a couple years.

I mentioned that I was aware of your history here and agreed you are a huge asset here but went back and re-read some things and it's pretty clear I am the one that was off base.
For some reason I thought you were originally a part of this project and defected because of disagreements but that clearly isn't the case.
I know of WaitTillNextYear's history as well and am very comfortable with each of you having a conversation without derailing any thread. I was reading it as a "disagreement between old partners" for some reason.
My sincerest apologies and please continue on as you see fit.
You can strike everything I've said from the record and I'll go hide in my corner.
To be fair, this HAS been a strange year for the roster projects here!Comment

Man just knock it off before you get this thread closed because you won't stop. I can't speak for anyone on here but I don't want another thread closed because people can't shut up.
kehlis I don't mean to step on your toes or step out of line here, and if I have done so I am sorry. Like I said, I just don't want the thread closed again like the other day on the other thread because people are arguing.Comment
