Just played my second game with my Red Sox franchise and I hit 8 homeruns (3 with Big Papi and 2 with Hanley) and got 21 hits. I never came anything close to that in the 50+ games I played with the OSFM v1 rosters. I also gave up 5 runs and a bunch of hits (and also gave up around 7 runs in my first game). I am using TNK's sliders with some slight adjustments. Again, with OSFM v.1 rosters, hitting was a lot harder than it was in this one particular game, although I admit it is a very small sample and there are always random games where teams hit like that even in real life. I'll have to play some more games and see what happens. Just checking to see if anyone else has found hitting to be easier with this roster.

Re: 2015 OSFM REVISION ROSTER v1 - Released
I've played about a dozen games now, and have definitely not had any games remotely like that. Most I've done is hit three home runs in a game, with three different players, but when you look at the pitches, they were pitches that deserved it from three very good power hitters. These ratings are legit, guys.Comment

I removed the rosters down to 25 men and I edited lineups/rotations before going into Franchise... Everything stayed the same after ST.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Pitching with the edits is great. Much more challenging than before but very fun to useComment

Re: 2015 OSFM REVISION ROSTER v1 - Released
Okay guys I ran a sim test with stamina and manager hook sliders for the 2016 season...Now I am not a huge follower of baseball so forgive me for not knowing how realistic some of these stats I am going to post really is. I will highlight in this bold red to indicate huge differences made with the slider settings. This is a good find, thank you to cts50 for that!
2016 team stats: SP/RP Stamina at 0, manager hook at 10.
BA- Red Sox led with .267; Padres were last with .238
ERA- Nationals led with 2.73; Pirates were worst with a 4.22 era
CGs- Nationals led the majors with 13 complete games (is this good?)
2016 team stats: SP stamina at 5, RP stamina at 0; manager hook at 5.
BA- Rockies led with .260; Padres worst with .232
ERA- Nationals led with a 2.78; Rockies last with a 4.37 era
CGs- Rays/Tigers led with 23! Quite a few with 20, 21... (I assume this is too high but honestly don't know what is the norm here).
2016 league leaders: SP/RP stamina at 0; manager hook at 10.
BA- Puig .314; Trout .345
HR- Rizzo 44; Cabrera 45
RBI- Rizzo 119; Trout 126
OPS- Stanton .963; Trout with a 1.082
ERA- Fister 1.91; Sabathia with a 2.42
CG- Corbin 7
IP- Cueto 219; F. Hernandez 213.1
2016 league leaders: SP stamina at 5, RP stamina at 0; manager hook at 5.
BA- J. Harrison .332; Trout .332
HR- Harper 38; C. Davis 42
RBI- Bryant 106; Trout 123
OPS- L. Duda .957; Trout 1.065; Cabrera was over 1000 as well
CG- Keuchel 8; Zimmeran 8. Lots of guys with 5+
IP- Strasburg 235.2! F. Hernandez 238.1 (Again this number seems way high but don't know the norm in baseball).
Easily can tell a difference in some key areas. I am going to continue simming this franchise for a while. I edited ALL drafted pitchers' potential by -20 before the start of the 2016 season. Am interested to see a couple guys progression I am remembering.Comment

Hoping this alonh with editing potential of drafted pitchers can remedy the dominant pitching we see in the league after 5-6 yearsComment

I use armour and swords as well, with a few changes for my own liking. But simming yes, the pitcher stamina and manager hook makes a huge difference with pitching stats.

Re: 2015 OSFM REVISION ROSTER v1 - Released
SP and RP stamina at 0. Manager hook at 10. Everything else is the same. And besides, all other sliders do not effect sim stats anyway. I have contact at 3 cuz that's where I play at and batting averages are fine. The tough part is remembering to switch back and forth when simulating lolComment

Re: 2015 OSFM REVISION ROSTER v1 - Released
After testing I think lowering all drafted pitchers' potential by -20 is going to be too much. I thought potential actually increased with the progression system if they had a good year statistically. About to start the 2018 season now...editing the 2017 draftees by -15 and raising by 5 on a few from previous drafts that came in really high.
I will post some stats for the 2020 season and look at pitching rotations to see how many teams have 90+ overall SP. Shouldn't be no more than one, two at most (ie the Nationals and Dodgers).Comment

Re: 2015 OSFM REVISION ROSTER v1 - Released
Willard I just wanted to ask you real quickly what the most recent version released included? I downloaded v1 and loved it but then went on vacation and haven't been able to check out any others yet. Did you end up doing accurate contracts? And we're WTNY's pitch edits used cause I see he has quite a long thread of his own going. Just looking for some clarification, thanks for the dedication and excellent work!
What are the available options?
I believe 1.0 and 1.2 are both versions which include revised ratings / pitch edits / etc. and with transactions current as of last week and are in the vault...
2.0 has the above edits, with real contracts and is also current as of last week with regard to transactions...
totte will be releasing a version with contracts / edits and back dated to opening day (ETA TBD)...
Are those descriptions accurate and are there any more versions out there that I did not mention?
Thanks!Last edited by KingV2k3; 06-03-2015, 11:09 AM.Comment

Re: 2015 OSFM REVISION ROSTER v1 - Released
Having real contracts I think is causing teams to not have money later on. In 2019 most teams are negative available funds. And some by a lot! Rays are -12.39mil.
In the free agent market sits Bryce Harper, Jose Fernandez, Cole Hammels, and Brandon McCarthy. Yu Darvish retired in 2018 as a 95ovr FA because of "poor free agent market".
I think I'll download v1.2 without real contracts instead. I'm not for certain that's why I see this but I'm assuming it's a big reason why.Comment
