Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
I'm not a big fan of using my hometown team so i decided on the phillies.
My reasoning is because there are 3 teams that can win that division. And the team looks intriguing. Don't like to do rebuilds, so I like to choose a team that is on the doorstep. Not a lock, but could make a splash.Comment

I’m in a very similar situation. I’m a Mets fan and it’s always difficult to use my favorite team because I know too much, or am too invested in real life. It makes the virtual world so difficult to accept because someone may struggle hitting but irl they are doing well. Same with pitching.
I love rebuilds because it provides a nice story and some structure. However I want to do something different as well, like take a team on the doorstep as you said. I’m heavily leaning Brewers (I live about 30 min from Milwaukee now), small market, can’t spend a lot but they do invest (unlike Baltimore, etc) and they have an opportunity to compete right now.
Cincinnati kind of gets my brain thinking too because they are a team that has a terrible GM but have been sort of competitive lately. Idk.. it’s hard to decide!

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
Haven't decided yet. I am from Pittsburgh, I love the Pirates (13-15 seasons were the highlight of my life), but am a little sour on them now days (for obvious reasons).
Was thinking possibly the A's/Rockies (they have some pieces, bad pitching though)/Dbacks for a rebuild with this roster (play at least 1 game min. per series, quick counts, so i can get several years in)
or
Also was thinking maybe playing the majority of the games with a team on the cusp with this roster (Twins, Rays, Mariners)
Eventually will make a Pirates franchise as I do every year, but i think i will save that for OSFM as per traditionComment

Yes sir, yearly tradition waiting for the rosters. In all seriousness, these guys are the reason I buy the game. I wouldn't even consider it if I didn't know these rosters would be there to use (been using them & on here since 2010).

Pirates are a great rebuild. If you’re like me, you’d want to do it realistically but Pittsburgh makes that rather difficult.
I’d say, you’re the new GM and the owner will support your decisions up to a point. Do your best and change that franchise around! They’ve locked down Hayes and Reynolds, you’ve got a great minor league system… amazing ballpark. Win, win!

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
I’m using my favorite team the Dodgers. Yea they’re loaded, but I don’t think people appreciate the challenge of taking a good team with expectations and living up to them. Even if you win the WS the first year can you repeat? Or go 3 out 5 years? That’s a big challenge.
I might start an Angels or White Sox franchise on the side though. But not a fan of using the DH. Will be turning it off in my main Dodgers chise.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders
NBA - Los Angeles Lakers
MLB - Los Angeles Dodgers
NHL - Los Angeles Kings
MLS - Los Angeles Galaxy
EPL - Newcastle UnitedComment

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
Now y'all got me thinking .. I'm a Jays fan and always pick them in franchise and then they make deadline deals and I end up starting over mid season .. and they play in that sorry excuse for a stadium ... I did a season with the Cubs once, that may be an option or another team that's got a nice stadiumComment

This is my sole reason wanting to pick my favorite team, the Mets this year. Year after year trying to make them good has me so mixed up now that we have a legit owner and a good team (so far lol). So now when I think of the NYM it’s about getting past the long history of failure and actually being good for once. [emoji23][emoji23] High expectations bring a whole new level into franchise modes! Just feels weird to have a team with that payroll, I’ve never experienced it.

Something about the Rogers Centre that I absolutely adore. Only you know what’s best for you but there’s no denying that team would be an absolute ball to run with.

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
Out of all of the years you've been playing with the Jays and now you're gonna pass on them !? This is finally their year my man, best team they've had on paper in years ! I can't wait to start my franchise with TO this year and personally I actually like the Skydome, it unique to other stadiums and has a sweet homerun horn. Just wish they would've included the new jumbotron in the game. Perhaps there's a way they can include it with an update/patch ??
