I'm curious, how were clutch ratings calculated this year? I'm playing my Red Sox and noticing some players' clutch is pretty well above their CONL/CONR such as Wilyer Abreu (85 CLT, 63 CONR, 43 CONL) and Vaughn Grissom (88 CLT, 57 CONR, 61 CONL). Is that intended that they're so much better with RISP?

Once he debuted, we were able to use data from MLB Statcast for his pitch repetoire.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
Would these still "work" properly on All-Star difficulty?
I've tried using the suggestesd sliders and I am *AWFUL* on Hall of Fame difficulty.Boston Red Sox

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
Are Chris Sale's pitch types correct? In these rosters he has 4SFB, CURV, CRCLCH, and a Sinker...but by all accounts he throws a slider, not a curve
I understand he has a bit of a slurve thing going on with his slider maybe?... but pitchFX has the vert / horizontal movement indicating it's more slider. (link to PitchFX data) (Link to Statcast data)
I edited his pitches to replace curve with slider, and i set it this way:
Velocity: 22 (79mph to match average PitchFX velocity)
Control: 83 (copied from his original curve setting)
Break: 99 (copied from his original curve setting)
wondering if what i did above is bad practice...im not sure how pitch types vs. velocity plays into the effectiveness in game.
Thanks Cycloniac and team for any info!
Edit: seems as though if you look at Statcast pitching data:
the ball moves 11 inches towards a right handed batter and drops 50 inches. League average horizontal movement is 6 inches and 38 inches drop.- Im not sure which pitch in The Show best corresponds to 11"H 50"V (maybe its curve, i dunno)
- I'm not sure how pitch type affects batter outcomes in The Show (do 2 pitches with the Velocity, Break, and Control (e.g. Slurve vs Curve) have the same outcome against AI?

No issue with your change thereComment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
Single team control (not doing 32)
Cy, so I started a single team franchise, and I've noticed that, for example, Philadelphia line up doesn't utilize Swarber as everyday DH. I'm only 3 games in, so should I have it on a different setting to get it to make him the everyday? The lineup isn't a big deal I just don't know why the AI would use pache as the platoon at that spot when he's a better sub at one of the outfield positions. I may restart anyway. I just didn't want to trouble myself with all 32 this year.
Side note I really miss the show run around the league update when you go to the next day, and it gives a recap of the day begot results. Baffling why they'd remove that.
